Lana sat down in the large waiting room wondering how she ended up here, Kairos sat by her discussing with the seamstress, she had no idea what was going on only that kairos was buying a ridiculous amount of dresses that she won't need
After hours of trying out countless dresses she finally settled on a gold off shoulder body fitted gown that has a long flail at the bottom, with a slit that reached her thighs
She picked it cause it was really light and it made it easier for her to move around unlike the rest of the dresses he was buying
"Your majesty I don't need this much dresses" she complained
"Pack up everything you brought they all look good on her" he spoke to the tailor ignoring her cries
Lana was getting frustrated, she really didn't need that much clothes, how long was she going to stay here to wear those
"Are you even listening to me?" Lana yelled pausing the conversation between the tailor and him
Kairos turned to her looking confused "do you not like the dresses?" He asked
"Of course I do..."
"it's settled then" Kairos interrupted signing a check, passing it to the tailor "meet my treasurer"
Lana sat dazed, did he just ignore her and cut her off, why did she care its his money, and he's a rich king. Shrugging she gave up
"It's a pleasure doing business with you your majesty" the tailored bowed walking out of the room happily
A sigh of relief escaped Lana's lips "finally we're done"
Kairos smiled "who said so" he said, clapping his hand twice "next"
Next?, Lana's eyes widened as a man with multiple trays of jewelry walked in
Lana blinked twice, she was dreaming, yes this was definitely a dream, she never believed she would be sitting in a magnificent room with a king picking out dresses and jewelries that she wasn't paying for
The only off side is that this king has some loose screws, it would have been perfect if he was a gentle man
But nonetheless it seemed like a dream she never wanted to wake up from
"Lana make a choice, which do you want" Kairos asked glancing at her
Lana stared at the trays of jewelries with real gems and gold, she has never seen those in real life before and here she is picking what she liked, she loved all of them
"Your majesty I already have a jewelry to wear" she said, reminding him of his necklace
"I am aware" he said "is nothing here to your liking" Kairos glared at the jeweler making him shiver a cold sweat ran down his spine
Something in Lana told her if she didn't pick a jewelry the man's head will be on a stick, sighing she looked back at the trays an emerald necklace caught her eyes
"I like that" she said pointing at it
"Ahh my lady you have keen eyes" the jeweler said "this is one of it's kind and really rare, it compliments your beautiful hazel eyes"
Lana smiled at the compliment
Kairos stared at the emerald neck piece it was indeed beautiful but something was unusual about it, he didn't know if it was harmful but since she wouldn't be wearing it for this ball he will purchase it and investigate
"It is indeed beautiful, pack up everything in the tray and bring matching earrings for the necklace
Lana held her breath was this a reward from the gods, were they really looking out for her, she didn't know how to feel this was all new to her
"Yes your majesty" the jeweler said packing up the jewelries
"And also add a gold mask" Kairos added
Lana wondered why kairos was bent on her attending this ball, she would have most rather slept in than spend the night dancing around, she didn't even know how to dance
The jeweler left, thinking it was finally over a lady walked in with stacks of shoes
Lana had to sit and pick the shoes she wanted and Kairos ended up buying everything in the stack. That man really has money to toss around
By the time they were done picking, Lana was famished and tired, who knew picking out outfits could be this exhausting
She joined Kairos for lunch, and left to prepare for the ball on Kairos command
Walking to his study, the necklace Lana picked out was placed on his table, walking towards it he picked it up scanning it
"What are you doing" Dalton asked watching Kairos look at the necklace intently
"Weren't you taught anything about knocking" Kairos said glaring at the intruder
"I've been in here you just didn't notice" Dalton replied
Looking back at the necklace "something is unusual about this neckpiece I can feel it" he said trying to use his magic to figure it out but something was blocking him from getting in
"If you're suspicious about the necklace, why don't you give it to the mage tower and ask them to decipher it for you" Dalton suggested picking up documents from Kairos desk and dropping it on his
Kairos frowned the last thing he wanted was help from the mage tower, he didn't trust them though he was a practitioner of magic himself but he needed to make sure the necklace was safe for Lana to wear
"Fine send it to them for me" he said putting it back in the box and handing it to Dalton
"Yes your majesty" Dalton said taking it and placing it on his table
" You found out what she was doing outside the palace"
Kairos frowned "she asked someone for a way to get home"
"She doesn't know creating a portal into another world is forbidden magic" Dalton replied
Kairos sighed pressing the bridge of his nose "she doesn't know what forbidden magic is"
Outside the castle in an isolated tower away from civilization, in a room a strikingly beautiful woman sat on a throne like chair with an evil smile on her face "hmm she really does have keen eyes"
