Chapter 90 - Chapter 90: Invasion of Wakanda

"Helen, how do I actively release the suit's energy?" Rowan asked.

"Boss, the armor has a sensory function. You just need to focus and command it in your mind," Helen replied.

Rowan nodded. He opened his hand, silently issuing the command in his mind.

At once, a shockwave burst from his body, rippling outward in every direction. The force stirred a sudden gust, rattling the papers across the laboratory.

"This is pretty fun… kind of like Shinra Tensei," Rowan chuckled.

The feature wasn't particularly useful in battle, but it was entertaining.

"Found it."

The surroundings were a blend of mountains, grasslands, forests, and wetlands, home to an array of African wildlife.

"With this vibranium armor, I could storm in head-on… but that feels reckless. If Wakanda has hidden strategic weapons, I could take a serious hit," Rowan thought.

He hadn't come this far to play it safe. His intention was clear: to subdue Wakanda by force.

The rural roads of the outer settlements carried the stench of livestock and waste, painting the image of poverty and backwardness.

A low hum vibrated through the air.

"Helen, you've done well," Rowan said with satisfaction, observing his position on Wakanda's western border.

"With this armor, I can finally move without hesitation."

Wakanda's cloaking technology was impressive, but no illusion could become reality. Even this façade couldn't hide forever. After all, their shields had once resisted Thanos' army temporarily.

But before striking directly, Rowan had another plan. He needed a hostage.

"Best would be the old king, or his children. That way they wouldn't dare unleash their deadliest weapons."

Rowan's body rose into the air, the six hovering blades shifting formation into a spiraling drill. Then, with blinding speed, he plunged into the earth.

Ulysses Klaue hadn't lied.

Rowan's lips curved into a smile as he tunneled deeper.

He had no intention of charging straight into the capital. Instead, he followed the coordinates Klaue had given him.

"Just as planned," Rowan muttered.

The next morning, before sunrise, he was already on the move.

Though Wakanda's image to the outside world was that of a poor, forgotten nation, Rowan knew better. It was all a carefully crafted illusion.

Flying at supersonic speed, his shield beneath his feet, Rowan soared toward the hidden kingdom.

By the time he arrived above a dense stretch of woodland, his mental senses had already located something unusual.

"Barrier…" Rowan's eyes gleamed as he commanded his blades forward.

One of the blades suddenly struck against an invisible wall, unable to advance.

"Found you."

Rowan hovered, studying the scene. The trees and hills dissolved into an illusion, replaced by a faint blue semi-spherical dome of light.

From within Wakanda, alarms triggered.

In the capital, the old king's eyes narrowed. Beside him, W'Kabi, leader of the Border Tribe, stiffened as his communicator buzzed.

"W'Kabi. Take men and investigate. Do not underestimate this threat," the old king ordered.

"Yes, my king," W'Kabi replied, his short hair glinting beneath a cloak, white dotted patterns decorating his face.

Rowan smirked. "Just forty meters deep? Seems they didn't learn their lesson from Klaue."

Without hesitation, he plunged deeper underground, his blades drilling effortlessly. At twenty meters, the barrier still held. At forty, he found what he was looking for a vibranium-powered mechanism feeding the shield.

So that's the source.

Rowan circled around it, drilling even deeper until he bypassed the barrier completely.

His figure emerged from the soil within Wakanda itself, silent as a shadow.

Hovering above the forest floor, he dusted off his hands. "Now the real game begins."
