Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Return

"Sometimes the one who broke you is the only one who can fix you."

It had been six years since Elijah Reyes had last seen Luca Veltran—the man who destroyed everything.

And now he was back.

The corporate boardroom was silent as Elijah entered, dressed in tailored black, jaw clenched, eyes like winter. Whispers buzzed like bees behind hands and phones. But none of it mattered—because at the head of the table stood Luca, casually leaning on his chair, golden-haired and smug, like he hadn't ripped Elijah's world apart once before.

Their eyes locked.

Cold green met quiet fire.

"Elijah Reyes," Luca said, that infuriating smile curling his lips. "I never thought I'd see you again. Alive."

Elijah's hands tightened into fists. Alive? You left me to die, remember?

But he smirked, calm and lethal. "Disappointed?"

"Not at all," Luca said, rising slowly. "Just... surprised you'd crawl back into the lion's den."

"I didn't crawl," Elijah said. "I came to take back what's mine."

The air between them buzzed with something dangerous—rage, maybe. Or something worse. Something Elijah didn't want to name.

"You always liked pretending to be strong," Luca murmured, stepping close, his voice low. "But you break easily, don't you, Reyes?"

"I don't break," Elijah hissed. "Not anymore."

Six years ago, Luca betrayed him—publicly humiliated him, stole his father's company, and vanished without a trace. Elijah had spent every day since building himself back from the ashes, with one goal:

Ruin Luca Veltran.

But now that they were face-to-face again, the plan started to crack.

Because hate shouldn't feel this much like longing.

And revenge shouldn't taste like wanting to be kissed.
