Their eyes locked.
Cold green met quiet fire.
"Elijah Reyes," Luca said, that infuriating smile curling his lips. "I never thought I'd see you again. Alive."
Elijah's hands tightened into fists. Alive? You left me to die, remember?
But he smirked, calm and lethal. "Disappointed?"
"Not at all," Luca said, rising slowly. "Just... surprised you'd crawl back into the lion's den."
"I didn't crawl," Elijah said. "I came to take back what's mine."
The air between them buzzed with something dangerous—rage, maybe. Or something worse. Something Elijah didn't want to name.
"You always liked pretending to be strong," Luca murmured, stepping close, his voice low. "But you break easily, don't you, Reyes?"
"I don't break," Elijah hissed. "Not anymore."
