The sterile room hummed softly with healing equipment. Lyra lay in a chair beside the bed, her injuries wrapped and healing. Daiki sat close, refusing to move from his mother's side. The other Rangers kept a respectful distance, letting the siblings have their moment.
Their mother slowly opened her eyes, her breathing faint but steady.
MOTHER(weakly smiling)…You two… haven't changed. Still watching over each other.
Lyra squeezed her hand tightly, tears forming again.
LYRAWe thought you were gone forever.
DAIKI(choking up)We tried so hard to find you… why didn't you come back to us?
Her expression darkened with pain as memories returned.
FLASHBACK — YEARS AGO
She stood in a glowing cavern, holding her shard, protecting Lyra from shadows. Then Karnex's Sentinels appeared. They struck with overwhelming force, chains of corrupted shard energy wrapping around her.
KARNEX(echoing)Your shard… your spirit… they will be mine.
She screamed as the corruption consumed her, her last sight being young Lyra and Daiki being pulled away by rescuers.
BACK TO PRESENT
MOTHER(voice breaking)He took me because my shard was special — it resonated with life itself. Karnex wanted to twist it, to feed his army. I fought… but the corruption spread. And soon… I couldn't tell what was me and what was his command.
She turned her eyes away, ashamed.
MOTHEREvery strike I dealt… every step I took against innocents… I was trapped inside, watching. I thought I'd never be freed.
Lyra wiped her mother's tears with trembling hands.
LYRAThat wasn't you. That was him. You're here now — that's what matters.
DAIKI(firmly)We'll never let him touch you again.
Their mother looked at them both with pride.
MOTHERYou've both grown… stronger than I ever dreamed. Lyra, so brave… Daiki, so clever… You're my light.
INT. BASE – QUIET MOMENTS
Later that evening, the Rangers gathered in the lounge area. Their mother sat up, still frail, but now in fresh clothes. Zevor and Veyra stood watch, giving her the space to explain.
ZEVORShe should rest. But she insisted you deserve the truth.
Their mother nodded.
MOTHERKarnex isn't just trying to conquer Earth… he's trying to erase it. When he consumes shards, he steals the life-force of worlds. That's why he made me into the Dark Sentinel — to turn me into a vessel for destruction.
The team listened in silence, heavy with the weight of her words.

Daiki looked down at the Resonance Amplifier resting beside him, then back at her.
DAIKI(softly, but determined)Then we'll finish what we started. Together.
EXT. BASE OBSERVATORY – NIGHT
Later, Lyra and Daiki stood alone under the stars, their mother resting inside.
LYRA(quietly)Do you think we can protect her this time?
DAIKI(firmly, with fire in his eyes)We have to. Karnex took her once. I won't let him take anything from us ever again.
The camera lingers on the two siblings silhouetted against the stars — a family broken but finally reunited, now standing ready for the battles yet to come.
