Andrew pushed open the glass door to Tina's company building with more care than usual. Normally, walking into Tina's office was casual—a joke, a smile, maybe a quick snatch of her attention—but today was different. She had asked him to join her for lunch, and he hadn't realized that lunch would mean watching her in full CEO mode.
He froze just inside the doorway, his hand hovering over the handle. Tina sat at the head of the long conference table, perfectly straight-backed, eyes sharp, and fingers tapping lightly on her tablet. Her silver hair gleamed under the overhead lights, and the tailored suit she wore did not leave an inch of room for error. Everything about her screamed authority.
