Inside the apartment courtyard.
Everything was quiet.
Except for the occasional sound of heavier breathing.
Utaha and the others stared blankly at Minato and Erina Nakiri.
Some of them were already blushing slightly, and their bodies were starting to feel hot and restless.
Ever since that happened with Minato, they'd found it harder and harder to control themselves.
"As expected of the God Tongue. The rumors are true."
Minato rubbed his chin and nodded to himself in approval.
"Huh?"
Erina Nakiri pursed her lips, her brain still lagging a bit, lost in a daze.
"You should be able to feel the blessing now, right?"
"Huh?"
Erina blinked in confusion, then suddenly snapped out of it.
Wait… what the heck did she just do?
Did she… did she stick her tongue out?
Oh. My. God.
Where's your pride as a chef? Your dignity as a girl?
And there were so many people around too—how embarrassing!
Erina took a deep breath and pretended nothing happened, casually flipping her hair.
"B-blessing? I don't feel anything."
Minato raised an eyebrow, looking a little puzzled.
"That's weird. I already gave you the blessing."
"Maybe you were too focused and didn't notice?"
Erina's body suddenly stiffened.
She had been pretty embarrassed just now.
But now that she checked, she really could feel a warm power flowing inside her.
She forced a smile and said,
"Well, I did just become a demon. I'm not exactly used to all these powers yet."
"Then you'd better start getting stronger ASAP."
With that, Minato pulled out a brand-new spellbook.
"Common Knowledge for Minato's Familiars"
Erina's pupils shrank a little without realizing it.
So this... is what supernatural knowledge looks like?
She instinctively took it, feeling like one of the world's mysteries had just opened its doors to her.
"Study this book," Minato said. "Also, make plans to transfer to Kuoh Town soon."
Erina was stunned for a moment, then hesitated.
"Can I... not transfer?"
"Why not?"
"Because Tōtsuki Academy suits me better. I still want to be a chef."
Minato nodded in understanding.
"That's fine. If that's how you feel, then you don't have to transfer."
"Th-thank you, Master."
Erina lit up with joy.
Her Master really wasn't like the legendary demons at all.
He was handsome... and kind, and sweet too.
Just thinking about it made her cheeks flush pink again.
Wow... I'm really falling into this role fast.
Minato looked at her and said,
"Before that, you need to learn teleportation magic. It'll make traveling much easier."
"It's in the spellbook—should be on page fifty-three. But read the basics first."
"Thank you, Master."
Erina nodded and carefully put the book away. Her eyes sparkled.
"Then, Master... can I see the ingredients for the barbecue?"
Minato didn't answer. He simply glanced at Jenova.
Jenova understood instantly, ran back inside, and returned carrying a massive head.
With a loud thud, he dropped it on the ground.
"W-what is that?!"
"No idea. Some kind of dangerous beast from another world?"
"Wait—there are other worlds too?!"
"Of course. I'll take you there sometime."
The next morning.
Erina cautiously looked around.
"Master, you said the Demon King, angels, and fallen angels are all gathering for negotiations today?"
"Yep. Didn't I tell you already?"
Erina fell silent, then mumbled,
"It's just... hard to believe."
She had just become a demon, and already she was being brought into something this big?
Those people were said to be on par with Demon Kings!
Just the thought of it was terrifying.
Erika, noticing her expression, chuckled.
"Don't worry. Our King's status is on equal footing with them. He'll be fine."
"Yeah, our Master's a God Slayer."
Erina nodded unconsciously, still dazed.
Last night, she had listened to Utaha's loud cries while memorizing parts of the spellbook.
The Seventh King—the one who protects the world from gods, who never obeys them.
And that kind of man… is her Master?
She had stumbled into the biggest opportunity of her life without even realizing it.
Not to mention the endless supply of ingredients from other worlds, eternal youth, immortality... all kinds of perks.
She still felt like she was floating.
Honestly, becoming his familiar might have been way out of her league.
Suddenly, Utaha spoke up.
"Master, there's a barrier up ahead. A powerful one."
"Of course there is. This is a three-faction meeting. They wouldn't leave things unsecured."
Minato smiled.
"Just follow me in."
And with that, the group stepped right through the barrier.
They were clearly in a different dimension now.
The lively students were gone, replaced by patrolling fallen angels and demons.
Rias was already waiting inside.
When she saw Minato, she stepped forward quickly.
"Michael, the Fallen Angel Governor, and my brother are already here."
Minato smiled.
"Everyone's early today, huh?"
"What, you thought they'd be like you?" Rias gave him a look.
"This is a serious meeting, and instead of teleporting, you're out strolling around campus with your familiars."
She glanced at Erina—intentionally or not—and felt a pang of jealousy.
This jerk... He got himself a new familiar already?
And in such a short time too?
At this rate, even a hundred familiars won't be enough to hold him down.
Rias liked to think of herself as a generous person.
But still... this was pushing it.
Sensing Rias' gaze, Erina quickly spoke up.
"Hello, President Rias. I'm Minato's new familiar, Erina Nakiri."
She was a bit nervous.
From what she'd heard, this woman was not only a familiar, but the Master's fiancée.
Well… not technically a familiar.
But definitely the main girl.
"Nice to meet you. Please take care of Minato for me."
Rias quickly collected herself and smiled.
"Alright, save the introductions for later. We shouldn't keep the big shots waiting."
"....."
