Chapter 62: I've Shed Blood for the Overseer! I've Won Merits for Schicksal!

At an airport somewhere in Munich, Germany, in Central Europe. Since going to the Far East, Yaqing had only worn this high-end suit on the first day. However, not to give the Board and those old fossils any reason to pick fault, he had changed into it again.

This suit had been a birthday gift from Kallen herself on his twenty-seventh birthday. In the Schicksal organization, this suit was comparable to an imperial yellow jacket; it could "save his life" at a critical moment.

The automatic glass doors of the VIP lounge sensed his arrival and opened to either side. The woman waiting on the sofa subconsciously stood up.

The woman had slightly curly, waist-length brown hair, snow-white skin, and gentle eyes. She wore a white ladies' suit with form-fitting trousers that perfectly outlined her legs. Seeing Yaqing enter, her red lips parted slightly. "Family Head..."

"Mm." Yaqing sat on the sofa opposite her, his fingers tapping lightly on the table. "Don't worry about those old fossils in the family for now. Misteln will make them shut their mouths."

"Yes," Frogurei said. "Just yesterday, Cyberutier Schariac returned to headquarters from the South African branch without authorization. His purpose has not yet been determined."

"Just a monkey trying to attract the audience's attention on stage," Yaqing dismissed Cyberutier completely. To him, he was just a pawn being used, yet one who excitedly believed he could replace him.

Frogurei briefly updated Yaqing on the changes at headquarters. Ever since the Snow Plains team was disbanded, many people had been eyeing the sectors he was in charge of. They were only holding back from making a move openly due to the prestige of the Kaslana and Schariac families.

"It doesn't matter," Yaqing stood up.

"Don't you need to rest a bit more?" Frogurei asked with concern.

"No need. The thought of arguing with those old fossils, with their sanctimonious act, is nauseating." Yaqing knew the Board's private conduct, so he had nothing but contempt for their feigned authority.

Frogurei notified the driver. Soon, they left the airport and arrived at the Schicksal headquarters building. The skyscraper pierced the clouds, a stunning sixty-six stories high.

Although Yaqing was stationed abroad, his files were still kept at headquarters. He took the elevator directly to the sixtieth floor. Those old fossils had already set the stage, just waiting for him to step into it.

The elevator doors slowly opened. At the end of the corridor, a young man stood there, seemingly waiting for someone. He had short, flaxen hair, a black suit, and a tall, slender figure. The smile on his face immediately reminded one of Yaqing and Otto, but it was slightly stiff, as if newly learned.

"My dear Yaqing, I am so happy to see you again. When I learned that you, like me, were stationed abroad, my heart was saddened. But there was nothing to be done. I have already been transferred back to headquarters from the African branch," the young man's tone was light, yet carried a familiar feeling.

"Cyberutier, even in a place as harsh as Africa, have you still not learned?" Yaqing smiled. "Learned to shut your mouth. Otherwise, you'll never be any different from a monkey. Think carefully, why were you stationed abroad in the first place?"

"You!"

Yaqing's words shattered Cyberutier's composure. The gentlemanly demeanor from moments ago vanished. He pointed at Yaqing, about to speak, but the door to the conference room behind him had already opened.

Without a second glance at Cyberutier, Yaqing walked straight in.

Cyberutier's eyes gradually turned fierce, his handsome face twisting.

Entering the conference room, the first things Yaqing noticed were Amber standing next to the main seat, and the empty main seat itself. He silently breathed a sigh of relief. As long as Overseer Otto didn't show up, he would definitely win.

"I will win."

Yaqing's declaration of victory before arriving at Schicksal headquarters!

Yaqing skillfully sat in the first seat to the left of the main seat. Frogurei stood quietly behind him.

The moment Yaqing sat down, the Board of Directors began their attack.

"Yaqing Schariac, we've heard that the entertainment sector you're in charge of has smeared Overseer Otto Apocalypse in its latest film and caused a drop in Schicksal's stock price. Do you admit this?" The first to speak was a middle-aged man.

Yaqing raised an eyebrow slightly and smiled. "I think you've heard wrong. The creation of this film's script was not led by me, but by Welt of Anti-Entropy. This film is a product of collaboration between Schicksal and Anti-Entropy."

"Don't make excuses! You were clearly the director. When you saw Anti-Entropy's script that clearly smeared Schicksal, you didn't choose to reject it, but filmed it as it was. Do you still have the company in your heart?! Do you still have the Overseer?!" The middle-aged man slammed the table and stood up, speaking with a stern and severe tone.

Yaqing looked at the clown-like middle-aged man, then at the few white-haired old men calmly sipping their tea, their attitudes detached as if the matter being debated had nothing to do with them.

"Aleister Fischer," Yaqing sneered. "By what right do you question me? For seven years, how much financial growth have I brought to Schicksal, and what have you done? Do I need to list them one by one?"

"That is not relevant to the current discussion," the middle-aged man named Aleister Fischer said, still stern, but with a hint of panic in his voice.

"Don't change the subject. Answer the question seriously, Yaqing Schariac," an old man finally spoke, his hoarse voice physiologically unpleasant.

"That's right, Yaqing Schariac. Your deliberate evasion only makes the Board feel that you have a guilty conscience."

"Yaqing Schariac..."

Facing the aggressive Board, Yaqing was dismissive. He laughed. "A bunch of precious things who only know how to stay at headquarters. What do I need to explain to you?!"

"You!"

The conference room door suddenly opened.

The Board members were stunned.

The person who came in was Siegfried. The Board had privately investigated Siegfried; he should be on vacation with his wife in Sanya, on the island of Shenzhou right now. That was why they had dared to question Yaqing so brazenly.

"Hey, hey, why was I not notified of a Schicksal high-level meeting?" Siegfried sat in the second seat to Yaqing's right, looking dangerously at the Board members.

Siegfried, unlike Yaqing, was not a nominal family head, but one who held real power. The Kaslana family was a massive entity. The Board had to carefully weigh the cost of making an enemy of them.

The second person to enter was Wendy, the de facto head of the Oceania branch. She sat in the seat next to Siegfried.

The last to enter was Theresa. She sat in the seat left between Yaqing and Siegfried, her beautiful, white-stockinged legs swinging slightly.

The Board was completely dumbfounded.

They had thought Yaqing was just a figurehead of the Schariac family, with only the status of being the Overseer's student. But now... the current head of the Kaslana family, the head of the Oceania branch, and the Overseer's most beloved granddaughter were all standing behind him.

"You want to question me? What's your rank?"

Yaqing, having notified them to come back and support him the night before, looked playfully at the ashen-faced Board.

"I, Yaqing, have shed blood for the Overseer! I have won merits for Schicksal! Just based on you old fossils posturing here... the creation of the film's script is none of your business. If you want to know, call the Overseer out and have him ask me!"

Turning the tables, Yaqing slammed his hand on the table forcefully.

Theresa and Siegfried looked at Yaqing, stunned. Wait? You're this arrogant now?!

"My old friend. As you wished, I have come."

A familiar, light yet gentlemanly voice, not the poor imitation from Cyberutier.

Yaqing's body stiffened.
