Chapter 18 - Chapter 18: Is Green a Family Tradition?

As the saying goes, there are only wrong names, not wrong nicknames. Whether it's his code name or his attire, Oliver Queen is too green. Before he became the Green Arrow, he was a genuine scumbag, and even after becoming the Green Arrow, he went through women at a steady pace. Let's talk about two of his more famous ex-girlfriends: Black Canary Laurel Lance and White Canary Sara Lance—sisters.

Oliver Queen dated Laurel first but secretly hooked up with her sister Sara. They snuck off on a boat trip together, but the Queen's Gambit had an accident, and both were presumed dead. While he was "dead," his good friend Tommy Merlyn swooped in and won Laurel over. If Laurel only got cheated on once, Sara was even more impressive.

She didn't die either and eventually became the White Canary, captain of the Legends. After that, she changed partners constantly—men and women alike.

White Canary truly embraced the full spectrum.

A mix of male and female betrayal!

Of course, they can't be considered the female protagonists, so let's look at the one beside me. The IT girl, Oracle Felicity Smoak—she should be considered the female protagonist, right? She and Oliver broke up and got back together, and in between, she dated several boyfriends. What happened? The Green Arrow didn't care at all.

So Jack Kadere felt that "Green Guy" really sounded more natural and appropriate than Green Arrow. Then again, perhaps green is a Queen family tradition?

After all, the Green Arrow's father was also cheated on. Here, one person must be mentioned: Tommy Merlyn's father, Black Arrow Malcolm Merlyn, who was a disciple of Ra's al Ghul.

He should be the only decent villain in Starling City right now.

This guy meticulously planned to destroy the Glades of Starling City to avenge his deceased wife, orchestrating the Queen's Gambit accident and killing Oliver Queen's father—but instead, he led to the birth of the Green Arrow. That's not all; the high-energy part is coming. Five years. A full five years, and the Glades of Starling City still existed? If Gotham's villains were here, it would have been destroyed countless times. When Oliver Queen returned as the Green Arrow, he followed the clues to the mastermind behind the scenes, and the fight began.

Then his son, Tommy Merlyn, got caught up in it and died.

His son died? No problem—he still had a daughter: Oliver Queen's half-sister, Thea Queen.

No problem. This sentence is key.

With a daughter, Malcolm Merlyn was fully revived and prepared to personally train her. He hypnotized his daughter to kill Sara Lance, who had left the League of Assassins, and later even became the leader of the League of Assassins himself. Unfortunately, his strength was insufficient, and he abdicated not long after. Finally, he was redeemed and helped Oliver Queen fight Prometheus, dying to save his daughter.

The Merlyn father and son cuckolded the Queen father and son, and Jack Kadere could only give a thumbs up.

Unconsciously, the car had driven into Starling City. The city's style was very modern; although it wasn't as Gothic as Gotham, it was equally dark, with various criminal incidents emerging endlessly. The crime rate could be said to rival Gotham's. The biggest difference might be that Starling City wasn't as rich in talent—the villains simply weren't impressive enough.

"Where do you want to get off? I can drop you off first," Felicity turned and asked Jack Kadere.

"Your place."

Jack Kadere withdrew his gaze from the scenery outside the window and smiled at Felicity.

"Huh?" Felicity was stunned.

"You live alone, right?" Jack Kadere asked.

Felicity nodded subconsciously, feeling uneasy. What did he mean by that? She'd only offered him a ride, not an invitation to move in.

Seeing Felicity's nervous expression, Jack Kadere smiled gently, then explained seriously, "I came from Gotham. You've probably heard about the situation there, right? In Gotham, there's no need for money. After all, why pay for something you snatched with your own ability?"

"Why pay for something you snatched with your own ability?" Felicity felt that logic was truly flawless.

"So I don't have any money now, but I need a place to stay, and maybe…" Jack Kadere looked at Felicity. "Maybe I also need a pillow."

"I… I thought you were a good person…" Felicity stammered.

Jack Kadere smiled. "See? Didn't I just teach you a lesson? Don't trust strangers so easily. I won't charge you tuition, and it's okay if I stay at your place for a few days, right?"

"Can I say no?" Felicity asked timidly.

"No." Jack Kadere grinned brightly.

Felicity despaired. Why had she let him hitch a ride? Now she'd brought trouble upon herself. What to do? She'd humor him for now, then find a chance to call the police. Regretfully, Felicity drove in silence. The car passed a few blocks and then pulled over to the side of the road.

"I… I live here." Felicity turned off the car, saying unwillingly.

"Get out of the car," Jack Kadere said with a smile.

Felicity reluctantly got out. Before she could find a chance to grab her phone, Jack Kadere put his arm around her shoulder and led her into the building. At this moment, Felicity hated herself for choosing a few pretty clothes instead of an apartment with security.

Unwillingly, she went up the stairs with Jack Kadere.

Fifth floor.

After climbing five flights of stairs, Felicity was already panting, exhausted. Now she didn't even have the strength to run.

Reluctantly, she took out her key and opened the door. After entering, Jack Kadere stopped and looked around, then said to her very seriously, "After coming to this world, you're the first person who made me feel like I had nowhere to stand. You… you should clean up first."
