Chapter 138 - Chapter 138: Serum Success, Trajectory's Birth

In the show, Rainbow Raider had manipulated The Flash, making him lose control and run off to teach Iris's boyfriend a lesson—even getting into a fight with Green Arrow. If Reverse-Flash and the others hadn't figured out how to restore Barry to normal, he might have done something truly irreversible.

Rainbow Raider's ability was genuinely formidable in the right circumstances. Imagine a group of metahumans coming after him—one glance and they'd turn on each other. That kind of power was terrifying.

Unfortunately, the person he'd encountered was Jack Kadere.

Unlike Barry Allen, who refused to deal fatal blows and only ever thought about how to defeat criminals without killing them, Jack Kadere understood exactly what Rainbow Raider was capable of.

Rainbow Raider died before he could finish his second sentence.

By the time Barry Allen returned to the laboratory and learned what had happened, Jack Kadere had already left wearing the newly recolored suit.

"He shouldn't have killed him."

Barry Allen said it after a long silence.

Cisco shrugged.

"I think so too, but I have to admit—his efficiency is insane. Five minutes? No, he solved it in two or three."

Barry Allen opened his mouth, but nothing came out.

After all, he was the guy who discovered the villain at the beginning of every episode and somehow only managed to defeat them by the finale.

Jack Kadere descended from the sky in the new suit, drawing gasps from Laurie and Thea. When the suit automatically condensed into a bracelet on his wrist, their shock deepened beyond words.

Laurie opened her mouth as if to speak but stopped herself. Thea had no such hesitation.

"That's incredible. Can I have one?"

"Sure. Whenever you can beat Laurie, I'll give you one."

Jack Kadere said it casually, then headed to the Aerie to check on Caitlin Snow.

Her progress had been rapid. She'd already solved several problems in succession, but eliminating the side effects completely would still take time.

After getting an update, Jack Kadere left.

While he was in a good mood, he built a women's version of the Iron Man armor for Laurie, keeping the original red and gold color scheme. The nano-compression technology combined with the tachyon energy he'd taken from Reverse-Flash would be enough for Laurie to defeat any metahuman who didn't directly counter her abilities.

That evening, an excited Laurie came to Jack Kadere's room earlier than usual—forcing Thea to abandon whatever thoughts she'd been entertaining and reluctantly return to her own quarters.

Laurie's enthusiasm gave Jack Kadere a different kind of experience. The result was that the next morning, she felt like her entire body had been taken apart and reassembled.

Thea saw an opportunity. If Laurie was this worn out, maybe she could finally win a fight and earn her own suit.

But Laurie was a trained vigilante, after all. Handling a beginner with no foundation like Thea was effortless.

Five or six days passed in a blur.

During that time, Caitlin Snow remained on the Aerie, working on the Velocity serum by day and returning to her room to rest at night.

Aside from that first night when Jack Kadere had slept with her, there had been nothing since.

Killer Frost hadn't emerged again either. Caitlin remained completely unaware of her other self's existence.

---

"It worked?"

Receiving Caitlin's message, Jack Kadere came to the Aerie with anticipation.

"The data says it should be successful, but it hasn't been tested yet."

Caitlin held up a glass vial filled with red serum.

"This should be... Velocity-9."

"Find someone to test it on and we'll know for sure."

Jack Kadere took the serum and the injection gun, vanishing before Caitlin could say another word.

Mercury Labs.

In a small laboratory on one of the upper floors, Eliza Harmon worked alone in her lab coat, running experiments.

She whispered to herself as though speaking to someone else. It looked strange from the outside.

She wasn't tall. Short hair, glasses—every inch the scientist. She was qualified to lead her own research projects, but her position in the lab hierarchy was low. Compensation and benefits aside, even the funding and personnel allocated to her work were pathetically inadequate.

Her personality wasn't suited to fighting for what she deserved, so she endured it in silence.

But as the resentment and grievance accumulated, it gave birth to something else.

A second personality.

One completely opposite to her own—violent, destructive, utterly without restraint.

Whoosh.

Yellow lightning filled the room. Papers scattered into the air around her.

"What—"

Eliza Harmon froze, then bent down to gather the fallen documents. When she straightened up, Jack Kadere was standing in front of her.

"Who are you?"

She stared at him, bewildered.

"I'm the person who's going to change your destiny."

Jack Kadere smiled brightly, grabbed her arm, and injected the serum directly into her vein.

"Ow—what did you just put in me?"

She stumbled backward, clutching her arm, voice rising in panic.

Jack Kadere watched the Speed Force already flickering in her eyes.

Eliza didn't know what he'd injected. Terror seized her, and she bolted for the laboratory door.

But when she ran—

She was already standing in the corridor outside.

Eliza Harmon stared at herself, then back at the lab she'd just left.

"I... how did I..."

"Run."

Jack Kadere turned to face her, his voice soft.

Run?

She hesitated for a single heartbeat.

Then a strange smile curled across her lips.

The second personality had taken over.

Whoosh.

Yellow lightning tore down the corridor.

Everything in her path was thrown into chaos—people knocked aside, equipment scattered, shouts rising in her wake.

She didn't care.

This feeling was beyond description. Gaining this speed was like ascending from mortal to god, transforming from a scientist who swallowed her grievances into something that could have everything.

She sprinted wildly through the city for a full twenty minutes before her speed suddenly dropped. She stumbled forward several steps and barely managed to stop.

The lab coat and the clothes beneath it had burned away during the run without her noticing.

Completely naked.

When Jack Kadere appeared in front of her, she felt no panic, no embarrassment. Instead, she stepped forward eagerly, eyes burning with need.

"What do I have to give you to keep this? To keep this speed?"
