Sounds of footsteps could be heard coming into the dark room.
Flick...
The dimmed bulb flick on revealing a man gagged and bound to a steel chair, tubes plugged into he's flesh, blood dripping from he's mouth and nose.
A shadow circles the disheveled man, and with a sigh pulls a nearby chair and sits.
"Robert Edwards."
Faint breaths could be heard from the man, indicating that he was barely holding on.
"2 days..... You've been here for 2 days now"
A hand lifts he's head up, brushing against he's fresh injury.
He winces and pulls away.
"I never intended for him to treat you this way, I just wanted information, I promise that if you tell it to me I'll let you go"
Silence....
"I'm really sorry for the pain you're going through right now."
Silence....
"Your daughter misses you, your wife too... you'd want to see them again.. Right?"
Now that did it....
He's head slowly lifts up, with a fierce look in he's eyes he uttered.
"Don't you dare lay a hand on my family, or you'll regret it"
"Don't worry, I'm a very nice person, I won't do anything to your family." She uttered
Sigh....
"You see.....I once had a family....I had a mom...I had a dad...And I almost had a baby brother or sister." She said with a calm tone.
Memories flashing back....
"But you took that from me... You and that man took away my one source of happiness!!!!." In an icy tone she screamed out.
Deep breaths in and out....
"What did Mamà and Papá even do to anyone?, they were so nice and philanthropic...Why did they die?" She spoke softly.
Silence...
"You know Diego Gonzalez...Right?" She said after taking a soft sigh.
Upon hearing the name, the man raised his bloody head and stared at Her, then in a trembling voice he questioned.
"What??"
"Do.You.Know.Diego.Gonzalez?" She said deliberately uttering each word slowly to avoid being misheard.
"Yes....I knew him"
"Knew him?." She questioned inquisitively.
"It's been a long time now, haven't heard from him since...." He trailed off as if remembering something.
"Since?...how long has it been?." She questioned.
"6 years now"
"Oh....So do I have any leads on he's whereabouts?."
"No..I don't"
"You're lying." She muttered almost inaudibly.
Silence....
"What are you hiding.?" She whispered.
Silence....
"If you had no relationship with Diego... It wouldn't have taken too long for you to say the truth." She analyzed.
Silence...
"You would have avoided the torture, just like anybody else... So you're lying. "She said with a sigh.
"He threatened you didn't he?... I should have known... Diego covers his tracks perfectly well. "
Silence...
"You were the one that day, You pulled the trigger" she said getting up from the chair and taking a step back.
And with a swift movement of the hand she took out a short pistol gun and shot him dead.
"Adieu Mamà, Papá."
Taking in a deep sigh, she turned and walked out of the bloody scene.
"So how was it?." Jake said, extinguishing his half smoked cigarette when he saw her walking out.
"Clean up, It's a bit messy down there." She said with a sigh.
"Haha... You'll get used to it."He said as he reached out and ruffled her hair,with a faint smile on his lips.
"Yeah...Finally got half of the revenge I always wanted." She said with a pout.
"You killed him?"
"Yeah." She said indifferently as she checked the time on her phone.
"Girl.... He's got family!" He said dramatically placing his palm on his chest.
"A cheating wife... and a daughter that isn't even his?" She said rolling her eyes sarcastically.
"Wow... You're still so nice" Jake said as he chuckled.
"Yeah...I just spared him the heartbreak."she said rolling her eyes.
"So where you off to?" He said as he watched her walk towards the car.
"Um... Church" she said entering the car.
"Okay... Tell auntie Miranda I say Hi" he yelled.
"No prob." She yelled back and drove off.
