I am fuming as Arieth guides me to the taming quarters. I hate this life, this constant pressure to obey and bend to every wish of the high omegas. But there is no way out of this. If I need to raise Lily well, I need this penny.
The growls and screams of protest of the new alpha are loud enough to reach us through the corianders as we near the taming quarters. Lily is right, his growls are clearly shaking the walls.
I sigh, will I really make it out alive with this alpha? I clearly doubt.
"Be careful with this one, he seems a little dangerous. We don't want you dying." Arieth says to me as if she can read my thoughts. A mocking smile spreads her lips wide. "You will be getting more and more alphas to tame now that all omegas want them." She laughs, "Alphas are the trend now."
My blood boils from my veins, but I bite back my venomous retort burning my tongue. When we enter the taming quarters, all the high omegas are already present. They would not take it lightly if they saw me bickering with their beloved omega Arieth.
My eyes instantly find the huge alpha chained to the cage. He is naked, save for the black shorts clinging to his hips. As if he can feel the heat of my gaze, his golden orbs cut to mine.
My breath hitches in my chest. Lily was right, this alpha is indeed the most handsome wolf i have ever laid my eyes on. He looks like the moon goddess took her time in crafting him, flawless in every way. His body, bronzy and well sculptured glows with sweat. His face, sharp in every angle, looks stunning even with the traces of blood dripping from his lips. But his eyes, even though blazing with anger, are wide and round. It reminds me of a puppy.
I bow to the high omegas before walking closer to the new alpha. His gaze follows my every move like he is ready to pounce and devour me.
"What took you so long?! This menace was giving us a hard time." Luna Linda, Arieth's mother sneers, "Were you not reported to get here?"
"No, Luna. I only knew you brought an alpha when Omega Arieth found me." I say, making my voice as polite as I can. The fierce retorts that I gave Arieth are long gone.
"Get to work then." She sneers, giving my shoulder a push. I stagger toward the cage and the growl the alpha lets out is so loud that it nearly makes me deaf.
"Don't you dare come near me!" His voice is thick with an accent and hatred, making his words a little hard to understand.
"You need a fucking beating, you beast!" Luna grunts, "You deserve it for what you did to my son!"
Oh. What did he do? Does the blood in his mouth belong to Larden?
"What did he do, Mommy? What did he do to brother?" Arieth screeches as she runs to her mother, shaking her shoulder dramatically.
"He bit off Yarden's hand. He is in the infirmary now. All he did was try to get this motherfucker inside that cage." One of the omegas explains and I bite back a smile.
Was he stupid enough to try doing that with a wild alpha?
"Didn't you use a sedate on him? The moonroot would have done its job." I say, evaluating the very feral alpha trying to shake off his shackles connected to the cage.
"We are out of moonroots. There were only a few drops left and Yarden was trying to sedate him with it when he attacked him." Omega Thia says with a scrunched nose.
"Fucking leave me, you nasty omegas! How long are you planning to kidnap us and mate off to your filthy kind? We are not a toy that you can have however you want and make offspring with!" The alpha screams from his cage, his deep voice dripping with hot venom.
I flinch at his hatred. Of course he hates omegas. To be honest, it's not that I am proud of my job. Or happy with this whole process of kidnapping the alphas from the forest pack and taming them to mate off with high omegas.
I hate what I am doing and a voice inside me screams at me about all the injustices, but I hate alphas. And I don't think they deserve any of our kindness.
They are cruel animals without a heart. I will never forgive them for what they did to my parents.
"Calm down, big boy." I coos, the smile on my face is anything but soothing. The alpha's nose flares, his golden orbs scorching me.
"Don't you dare release that nasty scent of yours at me! It might have worked with others, But will never with me!" He growls, his strong fist colliding with the bars of the cage. The iron bends at the impact and the omegas near the cage screams and runs back to a safe place.
"Oh, you are quite strong." I muse.
"If you come any closer, it will be your pretty face that will be smashed next." His thick accent makes it a little fun to talk to him. The way he strings his words and voice it out is kind of both hot and cute.
And it amuses me because I never cared to notice any of it with other alphas. I merely come here, tame them, and get it done with. But this big bad wolf is kind of making me excited.
"You know what, this is the same thing they all said. But at the end of the day they all just succumbed to my scent." I say with a sickly sweet smile, moving toward the cage. I make sure to do the trick with my scent that he won't punch my face off.
I realise it is working on him from the way his jaw twitches and eyes lose its sharpness
