Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

Elvin's POV

I shook off the idea that she might be a spy from my stepmother, then I decided I at least want to know more about her. But for me to do that, first I need to accomplish the task given to me by my boss.

Upon getting to work, I received a message that the same girl I wanted to know had resigned. Wow. Is there more to the story? Why would she resign immediately after getting a promotion? She's damn good at what she's doing. Or is this another way of purposely making me keep remembering her by dropping the resignation letter? A lot of thoughts and possibilities keep flowing through my mind.

Well, I know how to get in touch with her when the time comes.

But now, because of the news I got about her resigning, I'll have to spend another 3 to 4 months to finish up with my task.

Shit.

Four Months Later

Shit.

Arrghhh again. I thought this dream had left me for good since I met that lady, but why today?

Waking up with a moody and cold aura, I prepared for work. Today I'm going back to Q Country. My assignment in SH City, S Country is finally done. Today is also the day my contract with Mason Joel ends. I need to focus on myself, starting from scratch, to build a name, but not just a name. A name that would make everybody be so careful not to offend me.

But before that, I need to go back to Q Country to finish any necessary things before I leave for another country to start afresh.

The announcement rang out overhead, urgent and firm:

"Final call for Elvin George. Boarding closes in five minutes."

The name jolted me like a current out of my thoughts.

It was time. To leave.

"Did you hate me that much? Did you think I've done anything so bad to deserve you leaving me?"

Mason Joel suddenly yelled when I told him I'm leaving the company.

"We signed a contract, and the years I'm supposed to use have elapsed. You might not know you've done anything wrong. So many missions that would've taken my life is that not enough for me to hate you?

Yeah, you claim you helped me when I was homeless, but you've never cared for me. Did you? You only care and fulfill your wishes based on the contract I signed with you.

If you truly want to help me, then let me go. You only know a little about how I got to be homeless. You know very well what my identity is. So let me go and make a name for myself. I want them to come back begging for mercy.

Even if I wanted to renew the contract to make a name for myself, your selfish reasons would never help me. Mason, if you really like me as you claim, and you don't want me to hate you, then let me go."

Mason Joel was shocked. He had never, not once, seen me talk that way. I barely talked at all. If I did, and it lasted 5 minutes, it was either during a business meeting or a proposal.

"Elvin... you're my most trusted aide. I didn't know I've portrayed myself so badly. But if you ever need my help, contact me. And if you're still interested in working with R&A Company, I'll be waiting for you," Mason stated.

I felt nostalgic, but I had made up my mind.

"I would like to give you this. This is the only way I can help you now that you're leaving the country," Mason said and left the office.

He gave me a card an Infinity Card.

Only the prominent people have access to. The one I had once have access to.

I wasn't expecting Mason's attitude. He'd never shown me this side of him.

---

I rode all through the city, only to find myself parked in front of a massive mansion.

With an angry look and tight fists, I told myself:

"I'm gonna make you people suffer... for what you made me pass through."

And I drove off.
