"So let me guess, did our genius believe that he has no need to attend the classes like all the other students since he thinks he studied everything?" Snape asked in a menacing manner after he cast the warding-off spell while in class.
Auden looked around and found out that other than Luna, no one else noticed Snape confronting Auden.
"I had a bit of an accident, sir. I won't repeat it again," Auden said, as it was better to admit fault when it comes to the matter of Snape and end the matter. Unlike Harry Potter, who feels like he should increase the punishment every single time for absolutely no reason.
Snape's eyes narrowed slightly as he scrutinised Auden's face. He was able to see the minute traces of exhaustion present within him.
Snape just grunted and slightly waved his wand. A set of new potion recipes appeared on Auden's table.
"While the others complete their single potion, you are required to complete all three of these recipes before this period is over," he said as he moved on to the other students.
After the classes were over, Snape told Auden that the potions he created were plentiful in his coffers, so he could keep those works as they were not completely perfect.
Auden had realised that the three potions he got were aimed at body recovery, and this was Snape's way of helping him without showing any favouritism, so he decided not to ruin Snape's mood by saying it out loud.
"Professor Snape seems to like you a lot," Luna said as Auden exited the room.
"He actually cares about the students, but does not show it most of the time," Auden replied.
"That's a bit hard to believe, but I will take your word for it," Luna said as she began walking with him to the next class.
But after some time, Auden's brows furrowed slightly as he turned towards Luna.
He noticed for a while now that Luna had not mentioned her imaginary creatures as much as she usually did. Normally, he would have suspected someone was dressing up as her, but her heartbeat, way of walking, and other elements were still the same. Though he did notice that she seemed a bit stronger than before.
"Luna, are you alright?" he asked.
"Yes, I am fine. Is there anything that indicates otherwise?"
"Well, you aren't talking about wackspurts and other things as you usually do. Did something happen?" he asked, worried that the bullying might have caused her enough stress to stop.
"Oh, that's because I recognise what they really are and decided I won't speak them out loud unless necessary," she replied with a smile.
"What they really were? Are you really okay, or is someone bullying you?"
"I am glad that you worry about me so much, Auden. But trust me, I'm fine. If there are any problems, I will ask for your help."
"Okay then... just checking," Auden finally accepted it and began moving to the next class.
At the same time, two spirits appeared near Luna.
"Well done, my girl. You should always keep them guessing when you deal with boys. Never let them think that they know everything about you," Rowena said with a smile.
Luna nodded. Ever since the day he met Auden, she had seen the way he looked at most people, including herself. It almost seemed as if he could see through them even though he had never met them before. So seeing him a bit confused about the changes she made is actually a bit refreshing for her.
'It is kind of fun as well,' she said quietly to herself.
"Well, have you improved upon your abilities of your sight? You should not waste such a valuable inherent technique," Helena asked as she mentioned her ability. "The properties of your abilities are similar to the hearing abilities that Auden was born with. Just as how he had pushed the ability to such high levels, you too have the potential to do the same."
Luna Lovegood — Inherent Technique — Magic Eye. Her eyes have the ability to see magic as well as distinguish between different kinds of magic easily without any problems. All mages release magic depending upon their emotions. Most of the time, only children emit a high concentration of magic when their emotions become more excited. Adults can control them very easily, but even then, they still release a bit of magic unconsciously.
Ever since she was a child, Luna was able to easily see magic and had asked her father about it. Her father, after hearing the pattern at which she described it, realised that it was some kind of ability to sense emotions. So he decided to tell her that she was seeing different kinds of creatures and helped her name each one of them.
Rowena had immediately recognised the ability, as it was actually present within a few witches during the ancient era. That ability and Luna's curiosity and character had attracted Rowena's attention, resulting in her seeking Luna to be her apprentice.
"I can distinguish the emotions felt by everyone for a long time. But distinguishing the magical signatures between people is difficult. The differences are unique, but they are highly minute," Luna said. "The magical energy used by people is derived from the world itself, and only after going through their body does the magic get a unique signature belonging to the wizard. But even then, the released energy forms different shapes and colours according to the emotions of the wizard. But all these shapes remain constant for every single wizard/witch."
"Hmm, it might be because your ability had not completely awakened. I had seen many witches who were able to easily recognise the wizard using the residual energy of spellcasting in areas as long as they have met the wizard before. After unlocking its full potential, we will be able to train you for the next step."
"The next step?"
"Yes," Rowena said with a smile. "The ability to see the future, of course."
