After Evelyn went home, Cindy called me into the kitchen to talk. I understood from the way her face changed that this wasn't a simple chat.
"Really, Daniel?" She crossed her arms as she said this. "Do you think I don't see what you're trying to do?"
"I'm not sure what you are saying.' Yet I asked, before any other thought could take over.
"I'd thought I knew all your friends and suddenly here is this new friend who's now your main one? Did Frederick inspire this in you?"
"Doing what?" I spoke but my voice came out weak when I listened to it myself.
"Don't pretend you don't understand," Cindy said as her voice started to get louder. "You wish to create feelings of jealousy in me because you struggle with accepting my male best friend."
I constructed a tale about Evelyn and I reconnecting after years while she lived abroad. Although I delivered the poor excuse of a lie clumsily and Cindy seemed doubtful about it she chose to ignore it eventually.
The real test came the following Friday. Frederick rang Cindy to remind her about a party for their mutual friend while we enjoyed our romantic night at her apartment.
I told Cindy not to attend because I felt more confident after achieving success with Evelyn. My desire was to stay with you throughout the entire her.
Cindy suggested that we could attend the party as a couple. "The party would be enjoyable because you would get the chance to meet some of my friends".
I had no desire to attend a party where Frederick's presence would force me to witness their entire night of shared laughs and interactions. Instead, I decided to escalate my game.
"I'm actually seeing Evelyn this evening," I told her, pulling out my phone. "Let me see if she's available."
I phoned Evelyn right in front of Cindy and invited her to have dinner and go dancing. She readily agreed, playing the perfect part.
"Alright, no problem," Cindy replied as I put the phone down. She sounded good but there was something in her eyes I couldn't read. "Have a good time baby. But remember don't do anything I wouldn't do."
The remark made me shiver but I endeavored to dismiss it. I kissed her ardently before I was off but she kissed me in response but there was something different in the way she did so – something which seemed to be goodbye.
I picked up Evelyn and took her to a fine dining restaurant in Victoria Island. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner, chatting and laughing as if we were long friends. She was intelligent and witty and I found myself having a wonderful time with her. We moved to a nightclub where we danced and partied till dawn.
I was tired and feeling high so I told Evelyn it was time to go home. She felt the same I helped her to the car and the plan was to take her home before going to my house. When we got to her house, I helped her get inside her apartment. She offered me so water to cool me off. I told her I was fine but she insisted and she did the same too. "Before I knew it, she started kissing me."

I was right, she was calm. I explained what happened and she told me she believed me now. "Thank God. "I decided to sleep at her place and enjoy the night with her.

But it was too late... When we were done, I dressed up and left. I said to myself that it was time to stop and focus on my woman. I didn't block her, but I made sure she wasn't seeing my status and never called her again. I promised my woman that I was going to create a boundary and that is what I was doing. I just pray she doesn't find out about this. My girlfriend and I are doing well now. We do everything together and go everywhere together.
