Chapter 65 - Watering The Rice Fields With Ninjutsu

The next day, when the villagers returned to their activities, those who came to the rice fields encountered a strange sight.

"Wasn't the water almost gone yesterday?! Why does it look so full now?!" One villager asked a nearby friend.

"Ehhh, you're right… Look at this rice field, it's all wet, like it's been irrigated!!" Another also spoke with a surprised expression.

"Did it rain last night??" Then another question was heard.

"Are you still awake?! Don't you know it hasn't rained in weeks!?" Another replied, questioning those who said it had rained last night.

"Then how did this water rise?" asked another, doubtful.

The area where they were currently working was the highest rice field in their village.

On a normal day, when the water flow from the Anak Adam River was abundant, it wouldn't be a problem for the irrigation to reach the high ground where they were currently standing.

But everyone realized that the water level in the Anak Adam River was clearly at its lowest point and even appeared to be drying up.

Under these conditions, it was impossible for water to flow to the rice fields located on higher ground. So the question now was, where was the water coming from if the river was dry and it wasn't raining?

"We should check the water level in the Anak Adam River, and everyone report this to the village head," someone who appeared to be the group's leader instructed.

So the group of farmers began dividing their tasks, and soon the group regrouped at their original location.

This time, however, they were accompanied by the village head and several village elders.

"Look, village head, this rice field!!!" Someone pointed out the anomaly they had discovered.

"That's strange... why is this happening!!! Have you checked the water level in the Anak Adam River?" the village head immediately asked.

"Yes, village head, the water level is getting smaller," someone replied.

"So, where is the water coming from?" the village chief asked in surprise.

He was also confused. As village chief, he realized that their village's agricultural output was heavily dependent on the Anak Adam River as a water source.

It flows year-round, but in the past two years, the water level has decreased drastically, resulting in a continued decline in harvests.

Crisis this year has not had a bountiful harvest, but only enough to feed the entire village.

"Village chief!!! Village chief...report...the other rice fields have the same yields as this one, all irrigated with sufficient water!!!" A village staff member reported the urgent situation to the village chief.

"Ehhh, how is this possible!???" the village chief said in disbelief.

Of course, news of this shocking discovery quickly spread throughout the village, and the reactions from the villagers varied.

However, everyone felt grateful and relieved by what had happened, even though a crisis seemed to be waiting at their doorstep.

Suddenly, a miracle arrived to alleviate their plight.

So, the entire village was quite happy after learning about this situation.

And with this happiness, of course, came the growing hope for the stability they all dreamed of.

The main culprit behind all this, Jay, listening to the villagers' expressions of gratitude, felt incredibly happy.

He never imagined that learning ninja jutsu would lead him to such unimaginable success.

With his ever-growing chakra accumulation and his resources growing daily, Jay would certainly never tire of irrigating the rice paddies in his village.

However, this also reminded Jay of the fact that ninja jutsu could apparently be used for farming, or even something more.

Thinking about the combination of the two, Jay felt incredibly excited. "Hey... with just a few more clones, wouldn't I be a wealthy landowner? Ninja farming really has its advantages, haha!" Jay felt happy at the thought.

So Jay had a new determination: to continue cultivating the chakra within his body and quickly increase his chakra capacity.

So he could do more for his village.

"Jay... Grandpa asked, what about the food you bought?" While Jay was deep in thought, a voice... His father came to wake Jay up.

"Oh, that's all settled, Dad. They should be sending it today. I'll check to see if they've delivered it to the agreed-upon location.

If they have, I'll let Grandpa know right away," Jay replied to his father.

"Good... the basement at your grandfather and uncle's house is finished too, and it took a day or two to dry out the basement. They felt it was time to store food," his father replied, telling Jay.

"Okay, Dad, you can rest assured. Everything's been arranged." Jay knew his father's concerns, so he tried to reassure him.

"It's not that I don't believe you, Dad, but yesterday, several more villagers from outside the village came to our village to seek refuge with their relatives here, so it seems the current situation isn't optimistic," his father replied again.

Hearing what his father said, Jay seemed to recall the memory given to him by the shadow clone assigned to check on the situation in the neighboring area.

With the power of his shadow clone, it would take about 4 to 5 hours for the shadow clone to arrive there.

Upon arrival, the shadow clone began investigating the actual situation.

To his surprise, what Adam's villagers had imagined was actually happening in the neighboring area.

When the shadow clone entered the first village near the city center, it was severely damaged, with fires and looting visible.

Only a few villagers appeared to remain, mostly elderly men. The younger villagers, along with women and children, appeared to have fled the area.

Seeing this less-than-optimistic situation, Jay's shadow clone continued its investigation to the next village.

The results were the same as before, and after checking several different locations, the shadow clone soon discovered an even more surprising finding.

The closer the village got to the city center, the greater the damage, and the occupation became even more intense.

Meanwhile, in the neighboring city center, martial law appeared to be in effect, with numerous soldiers and police officers attempting to restore order.

However, due to their still-unbalanced numbers, their efforts seemed limited to a few locations close to the city hall.

Other locations further away from the city hall appeared to be occupied by refugees.

Seeing this, the shadow clone assigned by Jay felt increasingly less optimistic about the future.

This was especially true after the shadow clone clearly saw that the flow of refugees from the eastern region of their country had not stopped and was still arriving.
