The ice cream shop had gotten some new additions since the last time they were there. On both sides of the entrance, the lifelike statues of an elephant and a giraffe stood at each end. Their paint shone in the midday sun, making it look like they would start moving any second. By the fence, there was now a swing hanging from one of the trees. Two girls were already playing there, one sitting and the other pushing from behind. Their laughter filled the air, making the shop behind them seem more magical.
"Let's do that," Alex said, clapping. "Ryan. Come push me."
"I don't think they've had enough yet," Ryan said.
"That's not a problem," Peter said. "We can just scare them off."
"You realize we work here, right?" Ryan said, crossing his arms.
Alex nodded thoughtfully. "Sadly, we work here."
"Too bad."
Ryan shot them a look. Was it okay to scare people off if they didn't work here? He decided he didn't want to know and pushed past them, heading for the entrance.
