Chapter 37 - Tequila's Bold Confession

I was floating, weightless in a sea of tequila-induced warmth. My body felt disconnected from my brain as I slumped against the stone wall on the terrace. Chloe's voice seemed to come from miles away as she argued with someone.

"I've already called a car. We don't need your help," she insisted.

"She can barely sit upright," a deep male voice responded. "I'm taking her home."

I forced my heavy eyelids open to see Alpha Harrison Powell standing over me, his face a blur in my foggy vision. His hand reached for me, and panic cut through the haze.

"No," I slurred, trying to push myself further back against the wall. "Don't want to go with you."

"Don't be ridiculous," Harrison's tone was impatient now, all earlier charm gone. "You're in no condition to make decisions."

His strong arms wrapped around me, lifting me effortlessly. My head lolled against his chest as he carried me back into the dining hall. The bright lights and noise hit me like a physical blow, making my stomach churn.
