"Well, let's not take that," Nolan said. "Remember my pet, Zuru? It's been a while since I've seen him. Maybe just a few days. After we came back from the Empire, I haven't summoned him."
Nolan stretched his hand out.
A ripple of dark energy spread across the ground—then the earth cracked as Zuru the Boar rose from below, shaking dirt from his huge body.
Zuru immediately walked to Nolan and rubbed his massive head against him.
Nolan smiled and rubbed his fur.
"You've been doing a lot of hunting, haven't you? I missed you."
Zuru grunted softly.
Linda stepped closer and rubbed Zuru as well. He leaned into her touch.
Nolan suddenly sensed movement.
"A pack of wolves… chasing something."
"How many?" Linda asked.
"Fourteen wolves chasing four bulls. They killed one already."
Nolan pointed.
"Let's move."
They ran through the forest—Nolan leading, Linda close behind, Zuru thundering beside them.
