However, that independence was merely the beginning of an inevitable conflict. On January 3rd, 0079, Zeon launched a surprise attack on the Earth Federation. The One Year War, a grim chapter in human history, thus began. Conventional weapons proved powerless against a new, horrifying technology: the Mobile Suit. These giant humanoid machines, armed with unimaginable destructive power, changed the battlefield forever.
