Ars was trying to think about what he could ask, he wanted something that would be not that hard to get for them but useful for him. Like in the previous case with the samples.
As he was thinking about it, he looked at the notes he got from the world government agent he killed, when using them for training results weren't bad but weren't that great either.
He was missing crucial info in most of the techniques, yeah with his previous knowledge and the notes he managed to use Soru and Geppo, for the others he was missing something, so he decided on his reward.
"Do you have a way to get martial arts manuals, including the Rokushiki, the Hasshoken and other similar martial arts?"
Ginny and Kuma thought about it, and other than the Hasshoken, even the rokushiki wasn't that hard, once in a while some corrupt marines or world government agents would sell it for money before trying to escape and disappear.
Kuma looked at Ginny and nodded, and Ginny responded.
"We can present to you almost all the martial arts in the world with a few exceptions like the Hasshoken."
Ars nodded and declared.
"Then we have a deal and let's use that as a payment!"
They all nodded happily, then Ars picked up Bonney and asked.
"Do you want to stay here or come along, just to make sure, no matter the choice you will still need to sign the contract."
They both chose to come along, Ars teleported them along with him.
Once inside Kuma looked curiously at the machines, Ginny not so much, she had been here before and already saw them, though she didn't know what most of them did.
Ars quickly got Bonney in the second tube, and activated the machine, it didn't take long before the computer warned it had found the solution to the disease. The computer informed them that the application of the said solution would take around 1 hour.
Ars, not wanting to waste any time, went to check on the necessary period to examine the new samples. On the computer where the samples were examined, the time remaining to finish was over 5 years.
Ars knew that wasn't the actual time, because every time the examination ended, more similar information appeared, sometimes the same information could be found. Thanks to that, the time needed to finish would be severely cut, maybe 2 years would be more than enough.
Ars then looked at the possible potential upgrades, his body could go from 4.4 to 18.3, and give it a few more days and he would probably get closer to 20, with this number being the cap for normal humans. Though Ars didn't know that yet.
Above that were people with special constitutions, and other races whose bodies were normally stronger and had more potential in the body department.
On the other hand his mind could go from 2.5 to 9.8, and while the leap wasn't as impressive, it was also nearing the human cap, which stood around 10.5 to 11.
He was thinking it would be nice to know his level of strength in actual numbers. But for now that option was still closed.
He thought about it and then decided to build a machine to measure his combat strength. Or get someone else to build it.
Once his mind reached near the maximum value for normal humans, such a machine would not take too much effort to assemble, at the same time it would require some learning of new areas, like mechanics.
While he was thinking about it he remembered a certain pervert, Franky, he was also an inventor and would create a few interesting things in the future, like the cola engine.
The more Ars thought about it the more convinced of his new idea he became… His idea was asking Tom to create such a machine if possible, that way he wouldn't need to learn mechanics himself, since his disciple managed to create such inventions, his master should be able to create the machine he wanted.
Ars left but when he got outside he realized it was still the middle of the night, and went back in a little bit embarrassed.
He went to speak with Ginny and Kuma to pass the time faster.
"Do you guys know how long it will take to deliver the manuals?"
Ginny thought about it, and replied.
"Normally? Around a week."
Ars thought about it, he realized that, by that time he might not be available.
He decided that it would be better to make sure Rook could receive his items just in case he wasn't available at the moment. So Ars explained.
"In the near future, I might be unavailable for a few days, so if I'm not here to receive the manuals, can you deliver them to Rook?"
Ginny saw no problem in that so she nodded. After that they kept talking about random stuff, just to pass time.
After an hour and a few minutes, the procedure was done and Bonney was taken out of the tube by Ars, now completely recovered. Ars went to get the confidentiality contract.
Like before they quickly read it and signed it off. Since Bonney didn't wake up at any point Ars decided that as long as Ginny and Kuma signed it off, it would be fine. After all, the contract was basically the same as the previous one. Even if they didn't sign it, it would be fine, signing now was just a redundant procedure.
They left the laboratory and Ars remembered to be a good host so he asked.
"Do you want to stay the rest of the night in the guest room?"
They looked at each other, nodded and Ginny responded with a smile.
"It would be appreciated."
Ars then led them to the guest room where a large bed, a sofa and a few chairs awaited them. Nothing extraordinary.
Ars commented lightly.
"Well, it's not much but here we are."
Ginny smiled and answered thankfully.
"It's a good room, don't worry about it."
Then Ars left them behind and went to his room, so he could go back to sleep.
The next morning Ars woke up early, and quickly went to meet Tom to talk about his request to create a machine capable of analyzing the combat strength of people who struck it.
He quickly found Tom, greeted him and asked about his expertise in mechanics.
"Tom, are you good at building mechanical stuff?"
Tom was surprised by such a question, but answered a little bit confused.
"I can handle a few simple things but nothing too complicated. Why?"
Ars then explained his idea with a face full of expectations.
"I would like to know if you could build a machine that calculated the strength of the person who hit it. "
Tom nodded and decided he could give it a try, so he replied without promising anything.
"I could try, but the machine would only measure the physical strength of its attacker. Not his full power. And to create such a machine I need a few materials from outside the island."
Ars nodded, and added.
"We could use the trip to also get part of the stone that Nene wanted…"
While they were talking, Rook spotted them, approached, greeted them and questioned them, surprised by the serious looks on their faces.
"Did something happen?"
They greeted him back and then Ars explained.
"Nothing happened for now, I was asking Tom if he could build a machine to measure physical strength, but we currently have no materials for it, and were talking about going to buy it, along with some of the materials Nene wanted."
Rook's eyes shone and he commented hopefully.
"I could go buy what we need, even if I take several trips, it would be nice to have all the materials needed."
Ars knew that Rook was right, but he also knew that it would require a decent amount of funds, and according to the budget Nene asked, just for the stone and her materials, he barely had enough.
He looked at Rook, shook his head, and explained.
"We can't afford to use all of our funds into building, we might need to buy provisions in the future, after all we still are losing food stock by the day, and while the fishing and hunting are helping, the farms some of the citizens created will only start producing food in the future, we need to be able to buy food in case we need it, and even our current budget might not be enough if things go wrong."
Both Tom and Rook nodded, after all no one would want to go hungry.
Finally Ars decided that it would be better to delay the materials, and forget about the machine for now. He then looked at Rook and said calmly.
"In around a week, a member of the revolutionaries will come to deliver a bunch of manuals. If i'm not available to receive them, when they arrive take them to my house, and if you want to read them, you can take a few to study, but once you're done put them back with the others in my house. "
Rook nodded, and then Tom asked.
"Is your majesty going to disappear for a while again?"
Ars simply nodded, finally the 3 of them said goodbye to each other and left to do other things.
Ars went to meet his guests one more time, before they would depart.
When he arrived the maids had already served breakfast, and Ginny, Kuma and Bonney were eating.
Ars smiled and greeted everyone, then turned to Ginny and asked.
"Is our breakfast up to standard? And will you stay the day and relax a little bit or will you depart soon?"
Ginny looked a bit exhausted but she replied with a smile.
"We need to reach a kingdom that's relatively far, before returning home, so we actually don't have the privilege of a choice, after all we also have our obligations. And the breakfast is very good."
Ars smiled and nodded, adding an invitation for the future.
"If you ever need a place to stay, you can always drop by, you guys will always be welcome here."
They nodded and thanked him.
After the meal they departed, and Ars decided it was time to evolve himself, he warned Elia.
"I will go to my laboratory for the next few days, and I will be completely inaccessible for the duration."
She nodded, and he quickly teleported himself to his laboratory, and quickly entered one of the tubular tanks, in this case tube 1, where he would upgrade himself.
As he entered, and the machine started to work, he had the feeling he had forgotten something but couldn't identify what…
That was until he started feeling tingly, at that moment he remembered he had forgotten to change the sleeping option back on.
Last time he thought about it, but decided to leave that decision to his future self, but now he had forgotten it, now he visibly shivered just thinking of the pain that was coming.
Before the machine was filled with liquid he still tried to stop it.
"No no no no no no no… Wait wait wait…Stop, abort… cancel… hum… Please let me out?"
He didn't manage to and it was already decided, he was going to suffer.
After a few days of suffering, he managed to upgrade himself, and this time it was an all around improvement.
