Riven woke up with a heavy head. His whole body ached like he'd been punished to wash the entire house's laundry. But he was not at the old Alpha's house, so why was he feeling this tired?
His thoughts were all over the place as he slowly opened his eyes, blinking at the unfamiliar ceiling.
"Umm…" he groaned, his voice hoarse as his hand instinctively clutched his waist and sat up with difficulty. A sharp pain shot through his back, making him hiss. "What… is happening to me?" he muttered under his breath.
His head pounded harder now, and just as he tried to remember what had happened last night. All he could remember was some jumbled memories.
In which Azerin was so near him that he could even hear his breath, and he was touching him…
He flinched, and his eyes flung open wide in shock.
"What? What are those…?" he whispered in disbelief, panic rushing to his throat.
His gaze darted around the room. This wasn't the servant quarters.
Hell… This was even more luxurious than the hotel he had stayed at two days ago. The bed he was in… it was massive, and the sheets were too smooth and soft.
Obviously, there was no way it was his room. After all, this wasn't the kind of place someone like him could afford to live.
He wasn't supposed to be here.
He came here yesterday to serve the master, after being done with the other work, keeping his head low. But instead, he got threatened.
Azerin had looked him dead in the eyes and asked if he was one of those assassins.
And after that…?
His mind went blank. He tried to remember, but it was all foggy; nothing was clear.
He looked down at himself and froze.
The servant uniform was gone. Not just that. Almost all of his clothes were gone. He was half-naked under these foreign sheets; the only thing covering him was someone else's shirt, which was almost open.
His skin crawled with ominous feelings.
"What the hell happened…" he whispered, his heart starting to race. "Don't tell me that I'm in…" he didn't want to accept that he was somewhere he shouldn't be.
Riven gritted his teeth, shoving the comforter off his body. He planned to sneak out of the room and go to the servants' quarters.
But hell! When had his plan ever succeeded?
The moment his feet touched the cold floor, the door clicked open, and the person he didn't want to see.
Azerin entered the room, looking like a grim reaper as if he were out to kill someone.
"You are finally awake?" He scoffed in a frosty tone as he walked toward Revin.
But Revin ran away from him straight to the washroom, shutting the door behind him with a loud thud.
Azerin, who had controlled his temper while saying those words, had finally snapped.
"Who the fuck told you could run away from me?"
Riven looked at the neatly arranged drawers in the large washroom and quickly took out pants. He put them on while murmuring, "Does he act like this with everyone?"
Azerin wished to go after him and drag that bastard out of there and punish him until he learned for ignoring him and not answering him.
However, before he could act, Revin was out, wearing Azerin's pants, clutching his waist as he was sneakily trying to leave the room, but was caught by Azerin's sharp eyes.
"Stop right there!" Azerin said sternly.
Revin stopped in his tracks promptly.
"How dare you run away after what happened last night?" Azerin growled.
"What did I do?" Revin shot back, clearly confused. He was already angry that he was being blamed continuously for being part of the assassination group. "You were the one who wanted to hand me to those warriors… And you still want me to stay here!"
'The audacity this wolf has!' Azerin thought and strode to Revin.
"And what the hell is this?" Revin suddenly shot up, pointing his fingers toward his body.
Azerin raised his brows in confusion. He genuinely didn't know what Revin wanted to say.
"Don't act dumb!" Revin gritted his teeth. "You stole my clothes and locked me in your room so that you could bring the truth out of me, right?"
Azerin was rendered speechless!
If he wanted to torture him, the bedroom was his last option. However, Revin believed in his own theory.
Riven had thought that they had brought him there to torture and confine in the room unless he confessed to something he had never done.
Azerin was already in a foul mood since morning. He had to see the faces he hated watching the most.
Not only did he have to do that… for the honor of the Alpha King, Azerin even had to sit on the same table and eat with the so-called royal mother!
If it were not for her, his mother wouldn't have died a lonely death.
Azerin wouldn't have minded being treated unfairly by his father if his mother were alive.
However, what infuriated him the most was when Ember had handed him a mysterious box through a servant's hands. It was left by his mother and nobody knew how it appeared out of the blue last year.
"Alpha Azerin, why aren't you saying anything?" Riven's voice brought him out of his own contemplation.
Unable to hold his fury anymore, Azerin grabbed Revin by his neck and pushed him to the wall with a loud thud.
"Ahh!" Riven winced in pain as his back was hit with force. "Wh… What are you doing?!"
Azerin's hold on his neck tightened as he grated his teeth. "You dare talk to me in this way after lying about your identity. You're an omega, aren't you?" An evil grin appeared on his lips then.
Revin's body trembled hearing the word 'Omega' from his mouth.
He had done everything he could to hide it! So… How did this person find out?
"What? Cat got your tongue?" Azerin's eyes bore into him. "You have been caught, Omega Riven!"
