Chapter 199 - Chapter 199

Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 199

"Let's wait for the cookies to cool down first before eating, alright?"

Maya talked to her twins. They were eagerly looking up at the table where the freshly baked cookies were placed. They wanted to eat them, but Maya told them that the cookies were still hot.

Arabella salivated while staring at the table. She wanted to climb it. Maya saw her daughter's reaction and giggled at how adorable yet funny she was. She kneeled down and wiped the drool from her mouth.

"Why don't you play for a while? Papa is going to show up at any moment." Maya looked at the clock.

And sure enough, they heard the clicking of the gate. The twins immediately became excited and ran to the door. But because they couldn't reach the doorknob, they asked Maya to open it.

"Ma, Papa's here!" they shouted.

"Alright, alright. Give me a few seconds first. They are carrying stuff, so it's dangerous to approach them at the moment." Maya stood up and glanced at the mirror... She looked tired. She fixed her hair and wiped off the flour dust on her neck from baking cookies.

She looked out the window and confirmed that the three men were done putting their belongings away.

When she opened the door, the twins ran up to Karlos and hugged his legs.

"Papa!" They missed their father so much.

Karlos smiled at them and patted their heads.

"Well then, let me meet you at Gustavo's shop later." Andres bid farewell, followed by Brandon. They were tired from fishing and wanted to return home, eat lunch, and take a rest.

"See you later," Karlos said to them, then turned to his family.

"Did you miss Papa?"

"Yes!" The twins giggled.

"Then give Papa a kiss."

He kneeled down, and the twins kissed his cheeks.

"What about you, babe? Want a kiss?" Karlos teased his wife. He stood up and spread his arms. Maya chuckled and approached him, wrapping her arms around him. Instead of kissing his cheek, she lightly kissed his lips.

"Have I ever told you how beautiful you are today?" Karlos said lovingly, and Maya playfully slapped his shoulder.

"I miss you."

"I miss you too."

The family went inside.

"I washed our clothes earlier," Maya said as she prepared lunch.

"You did? But I thought we would wash them together later. Why did you wash them on your own?" Karlos had promised that he would wash the children's clothes, which were covered in sand.

"I did it anyway since I had nothing to do. I used the washing machine and dryer, so it wasn't really that hard. Besides, you're already tired from fishing, I can't just let you wash the clothes." Maya explained... She also couldn't smell his boxer shorts if Karlos was present, that would be awkward. Well, she preferred smelling Karlos over the boxer shorts anyway, so it wasn't really a loss.

"..." Karlos stared at Maya.

"Then I guess I'll cook dinner tonight and wash the dishes." Karlos took responsibility.

Maya laughed.

"Do as you wish."

"What do you want to eat tonight?"

"I'm fine with anything. Why don't you ask the kids?" Maya would eat anything Karlos cooked.

"Fwied chicken!" Arabella quickly voiced her opinion.

"Buwger!" Iñigo added.

"So fried chicken and burgers it is." Karlos nodded. It was something he could make.

Maya was impressed that Karlos knew how to cook so many dishes. She didn't even know how to make burger patties in the past, and Karlos was the one who had taught her how to make them back when she was still pregnant.

After lunch, Karlos took a short nap, and Maya slept next to him, using his arm as her pillow. The twins took advantage of the peace and quietly nibbled on the cookies. Their mother had given them three cookies each and hid the others for later.

Watching their parents sleeping, the twins also felt sleepy, so they settled down and slept next to them.

An hour later, the whole family woke up. Maya realized that Arabella and Iñigo's faces were dirty with cookie crumbs. She had to clean them up once again.

"I'm going to the ice shop. Do you want to come with me?" Karlos invited Maya.

"I'll go with you. I want to see the shop."

"Mama, me too!"

"Me too!"

The twins immediately expressed their desire to tag along.

Maya had already anticipated that her children would want to go too, so she prepared thick jackets for them. She had no intention of entering the cold storage room, she just wanted to look around for a short time, hand out cookies to the employees, and then head home.

"Let's go see the ice shop."

The twins could walk now, but they were quite slow, so Karlos carried them both. He grunted as he lifted them up, he realized that his children were twice as heavy now compared to their sizes back in January.

The family reached the ice shop after a short walk. Andres and Brandon were already there.

"Karlos, we've been waiting for you," Gustavo greeted him. He had only recently woken up, having stayed up all night and taking the opportunity to sleep in the morning once the boats on the beach set sail.

"I talked to Wendell and Emer and told them to rest, as they'll be busy very early in the morning," Gustavo explained.

He was the only one in the shop at the moment. When they entered, the temperature was noticeably cooler, though not cold enough to be uncomfortable. It felt as though an air conditioner was running in the shop.

"Let's talk business." Gustavo invited them to sit and opened his ledger.

"First, let's talk about how much we earned today."

The shop had sold 160 ice blocks and 2.5 tons of tube ice, the maximum daily performance output their machines could produce.
