Chapter 98 - Chapter 98

Reincarnated as a Fisherman and a Dad Chapter 98

As the fishermen appreciated the super yacht, the people on the yacht stepped out of it, drawing even more attention from the gathered crowd. They were wearing Hawaiian shirts with bright, floral designs.

There were three men, followed by an entourage of crew members. The three men were wearing sunglasses to protect their eyes from the harsh glare of the sun.

The people murmured as they saw the three men.

"Is that Karlos?" Larry Araneto was surprised when he saw Karlos walking and carrying some stuff, looking as if he had just finished a morning of work.

"Hey Karlos! Wait for us!"

Larry called out to him, prompting Karlos to stop.

"Larry?"

He didn't expect Larry to use a yacht. Well, Larry owned a villa, so he probably owned a yacht too.

Later, Karlos would learn that the super yacht was actually owned by Roman. Karlos narrowed his gaze and recognized Roman and Larry, but he didn't know the third person who seemed older but composed.

Just like Karlos, the other people on the harbor were also surprised when they witnessed the rich man calling out to him, causing a stir among the fishermen.

"Karlos, you know these people?"

"... Yeah, but we are not close."

Karlos was not comfortable answering because he felt like Larry had some issues that he didn't want to get involved in. But because of the upfront question, Karlos couldn't find an excuse to lie, so he kept it brief.

"We heard that you're friends with rich people and the Araneto. I guess that's true."

They started murmuring. There was a rumor circulating that Karlos was related to the Araneto family, the people who built the harbor. Many fishermen owed them a lot because the bay harbor had been a massive help to countless fishermen.

'... This won't implicate me, right?' Karlos smiled forcefully, trying to appear natural.

Larry laughed and hugged Karlos as if they were long-time friends.

"How's your day? The villa is amazing, right? I personally called Wanda and told her to take care of you."

"The villa is beautiful, I've never seen anything as wonderful as the villa," Karlos said, taken aback by how suddenly close Larry was acting.

"That's great to hear. Come, let's go to the villa and drink!" Larry laughed and walked beside him, clearly excited. With his sunglasses, Larry managed to keep his identity mostly hidden, protecting himself from unnecessary attention.

Roman commanded his crew members to help Karlos with his belongings, while the third person seemed interested in Karlos, he kept glancing at Roman with confusion.

"I know what you're thinking, no, my Dad didn't cheat," Roman said and clicked his tongue. He had even asked his father the question on the phone, and his father roared at him for thinking of something stupid, calling him ridiculous. Heneral Alejandro had never cheated on his wife. He would rather kill himself than disrespect her.

Roman explained that he only said it because he saw a guy who looked like him, but his father insisted it was a coincidence and told him never to ask such a devious question again.

"If you ever accuse me of cheating on your Mom, I will teach you a lesson. You know how scary your Mom can be, so don't ever defame me." Roman's father said, genuinely offended.

Anyway, Roman confirmed that Karlos was not related to him in any meaningful way, at most, a distant cousin because their surname was common in the region.

"Mister, let me help you," one of the crew members said.

"Ah? No, I can do this myself, I'm used to carrying heavy things."

"Sir, our young master will be mad at us if you don't let us help you. Please, let us keep our jobs. We're only doing what we're told."

"... Then, can you help me carry the boat engine too? It's still hot, so be careful." Karlos awkwardly passed the styrofoam box and other items to the crew members.

As they walked, Roman and the third guy approached Karlos. He greeted them.

"This man here is my older brother, Marcos Araneto," Larry said with a grin as he introduced his brother.

"It's nice to meet you," Marcos said, extending his hand.

"Hello," Karlos replied, shaking his hand.

"Thank you for saving my brother."

Karlos could see the sincerity in Marcos's eyes. He was grateful that Larry didn't die. Even though Larry was an asshole sometimes, erm, most of the time, he was still his beloved brother, someone he loved deeply. It would have been heartbreaking if he had died.

"I just did what's right. You don't have to thank me. Anyone would have done the same."

The four men walked together, although Karlos felt out of place because of the huge difference in their social status. The three rich men seemed to be on vacation based on their attire, while Karlos was wearing a long-sleeve shirt that smelled of sea salt, something he couldn't hide. Yet despite the difference, Karlos's charisma was enough to offset his plain appearance. The four men looked astonishing and attractive. Some women in the harbor even looked at them with great interest.

"I wonder if they prepared something for us," Larry said.

"You only contacted the people in the villa half an hour ago. That's not enough time to prepare anything, so don't expect too much," Roman retorted.

The crew members arrived first to deliver Karlos's belongings, moving quickly.

When the four men reached the villa, they were surprised to see that Mrs. Wanda had prepared lunch for them.

"First young master Marcos, second young master Larry, second young master Roman, and Karlos, please have a seat. We prepared a humble lunch for you."

'There are steaks, lobsters, and salmon on the table. I'm not sure if this is a humble lunch... Wait, is that caviar? Dear Goddess, I've never eaten caviar in my entire life. This is too fancy!' Karlos kept his mouth shut.

"Hm, passable enough. Not bad." Larry praised Mrs. Wanda with a satisfied nod, and Roman and Marcos nodded along. Although based on their expressions, this kind of hospitality was just average for their standards.

Karlos really felt out of place. His low status was not enough to dine with these rich men, even though he was invited.

However, because of their enthusiasm and invitation, Karlos couldn't say no, nor did he want to be rude. He was thankful for the help they had provided his family and deeply appreciated their kindness. Living in the villa was wonderful.

Karlos sat down carefully.

"Um, Mrs. Wanda, about Maya and the children, have they..."

"Don't worry, they have already eaten. Maya believed it's improper to disturb you while you were eating," Mrs. Wanda assured him with a smile.

"I see..." Karlos nodded, feeling relieved.

"What's improper? She didn't have to think like that," Larry chimed in.

"I'll inform Maya later." Mrs. Wanda bowed her head slightly.

"I'll talk to her after lunch," Karlos said.
