He just couldn't figure out what kind of man Edward really was, but he was likely the same person Nora had mentioned earlier.
His surname made everything clear.
The moment he used that name, people could instantly tell where he came from.
"Oliver, your talent must be exceptional—and you do seem special. No wonder Evylin took you as her student," said Edward.
"Maybe," Oliver replied. He didn't deny it, but for some reason, he felt as if Edward could see right through him—and that made him uncomfortable.
"What a shame we walk different paths," Edward added. "But it's no problem. Many Awakeners and Cultivators still become allies because they can benefit from each other. I see you've reached the Fifth Stage—what a coincidence, I'm at Level 10. We're basically equals. How about a friendly spar?"
Oliver couldn't help but raise his eyebrows when he heard that. He was truly surprised.
