Chapter 3 - 3

Deep in the soul realm, the spirits met.

"We should go out there and kill them all for their disrespect," A man of smoke said, pushing a smoke planet into a smoke sun.

"Who would be dumb enough to go out there once you're out there? There is no coming back," another protested.

"We can't do anything; we need our well-bodies to project ourselves to the soul, real," a smoke woman said to others.

"Some people will just have to die for the greater good of others," a fog man said, glancing at his peers.

The sound of heels smacking marble caught the eyes of all the souls.

There was no floor; they stood and talked in the sky.

"Before we resort to tossing others out, I have an idea," a slender woman with purple hair said, walking towards the souls.

Present time

Necthaul grabbed her mother's casting wrist.

Amber could only look down in anger as she lost magic, losing control over the boy.

Azula, not wasting any time, rushed to Michael

Checking to see if the boy was still alive

Necathual caught up to her sister, helping the boy to his feet.

Leaving Amber only able to watch as she tried to pull the dark metal band off her wrist

After freeing herself, Amber just sat, and the meeting continued without the girls.

"Preposterous, you want to use our already limited and currently draining amount of soul to create a diplomat... ILL, cut you a better deal, how about a warlord, and instead," the soul causing an uproar in agreement

"Who am I speaking with?" the lady in heels said

"I am Valnear, at least my last name. I am just another humble soul trying to live in peace in the soul realm, like everyone else," Valnear said in response.

"Well, Valnear, you should know that, as every other soul without life in the mortal realm, the souls' realm would cease to exist." The woman in heels

"I'm sure you know who I am, so don't bother questioning me on this," she added.

"Of course, the Melanie of Stars thought this warlord would attack all life as though life may be needed; intelligent ones aren't." Valnear snickered, followed by some of his followers.

They wore the mark of a red spark in their dark, black soul. And though the smoke never met the same floor as Melanie, it soaked upwards from the ground.

There were a few hundred souls of different colors and spark patterns.

"No way would I agree to this, and to make life, let alone Angel boy, would be impossible without all of us, and he will not be a murderer," Melanie said before turning herself into a bright purple smoke that let off a pattern of sparks inside.

A small group of souls joined her in her stance

Present

"So predictable of her trying to destroy her problems before they grow," necathual commented to her sister as they rushed Michael to the medical room.

"Dont call him that, and do you know where we are going? We've never been back here," Azula questioned, holding up one side of Michael as her sister held the other.

"Yes, I know where I'm going. I was snooping around here earlier; remember, I had plenty of time. Also, you look a little tired. I could hold Michael myself," Necathual secretly teased her sister.

"Bitch" Azula said, stopping in her tracks before snatching Micheal away

"I saw how fast you ran away after you put that anti-magic stone on her… I never saw one that could stop Mom with such a small amount. What new matter did u discover?" Azula questioned her sister

"That's my secret now; let's go," necathual said before glancing at her hand

'One too dangerous even for me,' she thought as the two arrived at the private infirmary.

"Come on, we only have 10 years before the first of us starts dropping, and then we will be forced to go down there ourselves," Valnear protested.

"I won't let you commit genocide on a group of people cause of a small group of people's actions," Melanie responded before she began to float away.

"Now, wait just a minute," an older voice seeped from the crowd

Melanie couldn't help but grunt as she floated back down

"He can do both as long as we all have the same intention," the older soul said, floating to the front

"And what might that be old Valnear responded before laughing with his friends

However, some of the souls gasped at his words

"Watch your words when speaking to him; that soul is Ezekiel, the first mortal to make it to the realm of the soul," Melanie said in disgust before continuing.

"And, sir Ezekie, what exactly do you mean?" Melanie asked

"The boy can kill the elites and spread our names to the mortals so they can understand they are hurting us, and we can hurt them back," Ezekiel said before letting out a low cough

"Soon, my well will dry up even without mortal interference, so I do remind you all that all of the time will come to an end eventually," Ezekiel added, turning to look at Valnear

"But let us protect love and enjoy the time we have left," Ezekiel ended before raising his hand. The realm swelled with soul energy racing in front of Ezekiel, forming a massive cauldron, and let out a small, wicked laugh of joy.

'Ezekiel, the first mortal to the soul realm and alchemist…wait.'

"YOU'RE USING TOO MUCH SOUL ENERGY," Melanie tried yelling over the sound of soul energy zipping past.

"I should have used it a long time ago," Ezekiel responded

Present time

"Well, if it isn't the three most talented people in the galaxy," Cloe said to the three.

Cloe gestured the girls to a healing tube, where they placed Michael inside.

"Hi, I'm Azula. Are you the only one working here?" Azula said, stretching out her hand to Cloe

"I am all that's needed, and my name is Dr. Cloe, but you can call me Cloe. It's so nice to meet the twins. I've heard so much about the two of you," cloe said, waking the girls to a waiting room.

"Oh, please go on," the girls responded together, hopping into a seat before Dr.cloe.

"I heard so much from colleagues. Let me think, ah Azula, I heard you played king of the hill at your school and started as a freshman, and in the finals, even when other schools teamed against you, well, let's just say we had to advance sunscreen just cause of you" Cloe said preparing a pot of tea before walking back I over to the girls.

"I'm so sorry for that. It's so embarrassing to be known for that," Azula said, facepalming before reaching out to accept the tea.

"No, don't be. You're at least for me remembered for the sun you created at only 16," Cloe said, passing the girl's tea.

"Aw, thanks, I'm trying to create a purple sun right now… well, I already did. It's just hard to control, wanna see a miniature version?" Azula asked with a sneaky grin behind her glass

"Wow, of course," Dr.Cloe quickly responded.

Azula put her right palm up in front of her, blowing onto her hand slowly; a magic rune appeared over her palm, and a small purple sun emerged once the rune was completed

"Wow, so much radiation," cloe said, raising her arm, engulfing them in a white smoke that stretched out even to the girls, putting out the small sun

Necathual took a small sip of her tea before smacking her teeth

"Of course, I know all about you as well,"cloe said, looking at the young lady with a gentle smile

"I bet you do," necathual said, putting her finger in the tea, changing the color very slightly before taking another sip

"Mmm, but that's just not my cup of tea. I don't blame you, though. I created my cross-breed tea to fit me perfectly," Necthaul said, taking another sip

"Wow, if you don't mind, I'd like to have some to scan," Dr Cloe said, reaching her pot out to Necathual

"Sure," necathual said, using soul pull to pull the pot from her hands

"But if you're strong enough to heal us from that radiation, you should be strong enough to heal him. What are you doing? Trying to keep us here?" necathual said before soul-grabbing cloe neck very gently

"Now Necathual," Dr cloe said nervously, rubbing her neck. She knew she lacked the soul power to resist but knew she couldn't hold on long enough to kill her

'But still, she can kill me easily,' cloe thought as she glanced over at Azula, who was staring daggers into her

'Shit'

Soul energy around them became even more deafening

"MAKE SURE TO BE CAREFUL HOW MUCH YOU PUT IN WHAT FEELS LIKE A LITTLE DROP CAN SLICE YOUR LIFE IN HALF"

Ezekiel warned the group as a line of souls dropped a part of their soul into the cauldron

Whispering

"Mana"

"Mana"

"Soul"

"Soul"

"Ki"

"Sir, how can we be sure the mortals will listen and will not just take the place of the elites he killed?" A soul whispered to Valnear

"I already thought of planning a backup code in the boy; just put soul into the same spot as I do and make sure it's the same amount," Valnear said as he approached the cauldron.

Carefully, Valnear and his followers followed their leader

"What type of backup was that"? one of his followers questioned

"One that protects us forever," Valnear said, snickering amongst the group

Present time

"Alright, I'll open it and heal him myself; just don't run off with him," Dr.cloe said to the girls.

The girls laughed as necathual let go

"Not a soul could beat us two; why would we run?" Azula responded

"Right, you know there's plenty of elites here."

Dr.Cloe said, walking back over to Michael's pod and glancing at the camera before adding.

"And lots of cameras," Dr.Cloe

"Ya, but we will fight to the death, and anyone who kills us is just signing up for suicide, taking away either one of us," Necthaul responded.

'I just better shut up at this point,' Dr.Cloe thought, opening the pod and casting healing magic on him.

In the soul realm, Valnear and his followers watched

"I don't have much time left, sir. I could go there and save him and raise him with the last bit of energy I have," a dark green soul

"No, let's see if our backup code will work," Valnear responded

"You know, with your magic type, you should be able to heal. Did you instead choose self-healing, I assume?" Dr.Cloe asked, finishing up

But before she could, Micheal's body began to shake. "What the fuck" Azula yelled, running to Micheal

"What the fuck did you do," necathual said, grabbing Dr.Cloe by her doctor's vest

"N-nothing, you, out of all people, can tell of something weird was going on with my magic," Dr.Cloe said as the two both watched Michael

"AH STOP," Michael screamed in protest

"Shhh, it's okay, my baby boy, I won't let anything happen to you," Azula pleaded to the boy

"My lady, what shall we do? It's clear Valnear has plans to interfere in the agreement, " a soul asked Melanie.

"I have a solution; I'll give him a trigger word that calms him, only we shall know it. Just pour the same amount of soul as me in the same spot as well," Melanie said as he followed and approached the cauldron.

Copying Melanie's actions

"What's the code word?" One of the souls asked

"Only I shall know it for now."

Present

"The sun needs you." "Everything will be okay."

"My precious boy"

Slowly, these words reached Michael, calming him down into a sleep

"Well damn, maybe it didn't work," the soul asked

"No, something or someone is interfering," Valnear protested, slamming his fist into the soul cam

The soul transformed into her mortal form.

She transformed, slowly revealing her mortal form. Valnear's attention couldn't help but be turned to her in Valnear's eyes; she was near perfect.

Valnear transformed in response, his tall, slender body jet back hair hovering over the soul still.

"I'll go with you," Valnear said

"I'll go with you, and we will raise the boy together," Valnear added

To no response, just a head nod, no

"Please, Elizabeth, I'd rather spend your last years with you," Valnear pushed.

"No, you still have thousands of years left, and I want to guarantee that for you," Elizabeth said, closing in on Valnear, wrapping her arms around him.

"You should have had more time than I," Valnear said, holding his tears back.

"Watching Michael grow up with you was the best time in my thousand years of living," Elizabeth said before slipping into the ground.d

"Please make sure we stay united; I'll give the mortals what they deserve," Elizabeth said before disappearing.
