Chapter 13 - Chapter 13: The Parker Family

"Sorry!" Big White quickly retracted his paw, apologizing with a soft cry, the red inside his mouth appearing a bit intimidating.

"Dina! Are you okay?" Her mother rushed over, holding Dina's face with concern before hugging her tightly, as if afraid to let go.

"Good points plus five," Big White's internal system chimed, acknowledging his good deed.

Seeing the little girl safe, Big White prepared to leave. But as he turned, he noticed George and a team of officers quietly approaching.

"Big White, come back with me, okay?" George called out awkwardly.

Ignoring him, Big White sniffed the air, catching sight of a church nearby where a man with a red hood and sunglasses was perched.

Peter had chased a criminal with long blond hair on 19th Street but found no star-shaped tattoo on his wrist. Returning, he witnessed Big White's impressive kick.

"Run!" As George approached cautiously, Big White bolted like a wild horse, heading straight for the man in the red hood.

"No, no! Please! Big White! Don't run!" George shouted helplessly, chasing after him. Once a serious sheriff, he now found himself exasperated by this unpredictable panda.

"Call the team with anesthetic darts, quickly!" he ordered into his headset, sprinting after Big White.

Peter, realizing the panda was pursuing him, shot a web and swung away, unsure why Big White was following.

What unfolded was an extraordinary chase through the streets.

Above the city, a mysterious man with sunglasses and a red hood swung gracefully.

On the ground, the panda showcased parkour skills, leaping over cars, fences, and bridge piers, occasionally clinging to a car, glancing up at the mysterious figure above to take shortcuts.

Behind them, a group of officers gave chase, with police cars clearing the way, tracking the panda's movements.

Queens was abuzz. Every time Big White dashed through a new area, onlookers gasped in awe, followed by a huffing police pursuit.

Meanwhile, online, Big White, whose fame had recently surged, was trending once more.

"Kung Fu Panda! A panda with mysterious Eastern powers."

"Big White appeared in Manhattan and saved a little girl from a gangster."

"The coolest flying kick! Passersby screamed!"

"The director of the Smithsonian Zoo stressed the need to ensure Big White's safety. It's a global treasure."

Videos of Big White's street parkour flooded the internet, his agile and lucky maneuvers reminiscent of a kung fu superstar from his homeland.

The video of Big White's heroic kick, rescuing the little girl, quickly became the most viewed. The term "kung fu" was again trending alongside his name.

Even beyond the United States, Big White's escapades caught attention back home, as the panda was on loan from his native country.

---

As night fell, New York City gleamed with lights, bustling with activity, more so in Queens than before. People roamed the streets, overpasses, parks, and even sewers.

In the sky, helicopters hovered, searchlights scanning the streets.

Everyone was searching for the elusive Big White.

Following the panda's disappearance, the Smithsonian Zoo announced a $100,000 reward for his capture.

Despite a lengthy pursuit, Big White vanished alongside the mysterious figure in the sky.

Now, in addition to police and animal protection organizations, ordinary citizens, lured by the reward, scoured Queens for signs of the panda.

Public facility repair crews were also busy, as Big White inadvertently damaged many structures during his escape.

---

Meanwhile, in Uptown Queens, a quieter, suburban area away from the city's center, May Parker stood outside her home, looking at her nephew and the panda beside him in surprise.

"Hi, Aunt May," Peter said, removing his hood and sunglasses to reveal his curly hair and thin face, greeting her awkwardly.

May Parker, in her 40s or 50s, was thin and pale, visibly worn from the recent loss of her husband, Ben, who was tragically shot not long ago.

"What is this?" Her focus was on Big White. Startled by Peter's greeting, she hesitantly inquired.

"As you can see, it's a panda. For certain reasons, I had to bring him home. You can pet him," Peter explained, eyeing Big White with a playful threat, then lifting him for Aunt May to see.

"Bing!" Big White chirped in a baby-like voice, trying to be endearing, hoping for dinner from the kind aunt.

"Oh, he's adorable," Aunt May's heart melted, reaching to embrace Big White, momentarily setting aside her doubts.

The trio, two humans and a panda, entered the house.

---

Later, Peter played the role of waiter, shuttling between the kitchen and dining table.

At the table, Big White sat alone on a chair, devouring the food Peter brought.

In the kitchen, Aunt May happily cooked, her pallor replaced with a rosy glow, her once lifeless demeanor now vibrant.

"Peter! Buy more steak, eggs, and some noodles," Aunt May called, checking the fridge, her voice carrying into the living room where Peter was washing plates.

"Okay, will do!" Peter replied, casting a glance at the panda still engrossed in the steak, feeling a strange heaviness in his chest.

---

Finally, Peter finished washing the last plate, removed his apron, and stepped out of the kitchen.

"He's like a little chubby elf," Aunt May cooed, happily petting the panda in the living room, her spirits lifted by their unexpected guest.
