The golden light of the twin sun hanging in Kaelthar's dimension cast a soft glow over the peaceful valley. The energy in the air still shimmered faintly with the aftermath of the training session. Each of the girls felt the rush of power and progress flowing through them, but beyond that, there was a deeper heat—one not born of battle, but of connection.
The group had retreated to the nearby clearing surrounded by floating cherry blossom trees, their petals never falling, suspended in an endless spring. A soft breeze curled around them, carrying the scent of magic and life.
Kaelthar stood calmly in the center, his coat billowing slightly as his silver eyes observed them. He turned first to Kunou, her golden tails twitching with barely restrained excitement.
"Kaelthar-sama!" she called out, bounding toward him with youthful enthusiasm. "Did you see how I balanced the life energy? I didn't even feel tired!"
He knelt and gently ruffled her hair. "You're growing fast. That technique takes centuries to refine. You did it in a day."
Kunou blushed. "Only because you taught me…"
He gave her a warm smile. "You'll surpass even the most legendary kitsune one day."
She hugged him tightly, her small form radiating warmth and affection. It was a pure, innocent connection—a student's admiration for a master.
A few steps away, Koneko leaned quietly against a stone arch. Her white hair glowed faintly under the dimension's light. When Kaelthar approached, she looked up with her usual quiet demeanor, though her golden eyes shimmered with something else.
"You're holding back," he said gently.
"I don't like losing control," she replied, voice soft.
He extended a hand. "Control isn't about holding back. It's about harmony. Let me show you."
She hesitated, then took his hand.
Kaelthar channeled a slow pulse of life energy through their connected palms. Not overwhelming. Just enough to let her feel the rhythm of the energy around her. Koneko's breath hitched as she let herself flow with it.
Her ears twitched, and for the first time in hours, she smiled. A small, subtle smile—but it reached her eyes.
"...Thank you."
He nodded. "Anytime."
Near the edge of the spring-fed pool, Akeno stood barefoot, the water gently lapping at her toes. Electricity danced over her fingertips like tame serpents. Her black wings were folded but shimmered with growing control.
"I always thought lightning was chaos," she said as Kaelthar approached. "But you made it… elegant."
He moved beside her, not speaking immediately. Instead, he summoned a bolt between his fingers, and it arced upward—spiraling, graceful, silent.
"It's a dance," he finally said. "You don't tame lightning. You invite it."
She turned to him, violet eyes smoldering. "Teach me that dance, then."
Their fingers met, and the current between them was more than electrical. Sparks flickered in the air, heat blooming in their closeness. Akeno leaned in slightly, as if daring him to cross a line.
Kaelthar smirked. "Patience. Power first… pleasure later."
Akeno bit her lip, cheeks tinged red. "Tease."
He chuckled, moving away before her thunder could strike in more ways than one.
At the heart of the cherry grove, Rias sat with her legs folded, energy radiating from her core like a quiet star. Destruction swirled in lazy orbits around her—deep crimson, controlled yet deadly.
Kaelthar sat across from her. "Feel how it responds to your emotions."
"I do," she whispered. "It's no longer rage. It's... purpose."
He nodded. "Destruction isn't evil. It clears paths, removes obstacles, breaks limits."
She opened her eyes, intense and focused. "Then guide me through that path."
He raised his hand, and so did she. Their energies collided in a silent explosion, balancing each other, circling like galaxies.
Sweat glistened on her forehead, but she didn't falter. When it ended, she was breathless—but radiant.
"That was... exhilarating."
He leaned in, voice low. "You're more dangerous than ever now."
Rias smirked, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear. "Then you better keep a close eye on me, sensei."
Kaelthar let out a soft laugh. "Wouldn't dream of looking away."
Lastly, under the ancient tree where their training had begun, Yasaka waited, her eyes half-lidded as she watched Kaelthar approach.
Her form, elegant and commanding, gave off a regal aura. Nine tails draped behind her, glowing faintly.
"I see you've been busy enlightening the youth," she said, voice teasing.
"They're eager to learn," he said simply. "But I saved the oldest student for last."
She raised a brow. "Oldest? I prefer... most refined."
Kaelthar chuckled. "My mistake."
They moved into the clearing where the sparring ring had been set up. Yasaka turned, her expression thoughtful.
"I'll hold back. They need to grow confident."
He stepped beside her. "You're the standard they'll aspire to. But don't coddle them too much."
"I won't," she said. "But I'll show them what grace looks like."
Their eyes met—and something unspoken passed between them. A shared past? A shared future?
Then Kaelthar turned and raised his hand.
"Everyone, take positions. Let's begin the sparring round."
Cherry blossoms danced in the air. Lightning hummed. Tails flicked. Crimson auras pulsed. All eyes were now on the sparring ring where the next step in their journey would unfold.
And Kaelthar, standing tall, couldn't help but smile.
He was no longer just a Guardian of the omniverse.
