Chapter 7 - Redemption by Death

In a broken wasteland after a fierce battle a radiant figure with six white wings flew speedily across the blood-soaked battlefield.

Valkyria observed the corpses of the fallen soldiers that were strewn across the ground with a dark look on her face as she headed towards Sakrius.

She finally saw the blood covered demon standing with something in his hand which he suddenly threw with a swing of his arm, she easily caught it as it's speed was slow for someone of her strength, but as soon as she got a closer look her eyes shrunk in anger.

The eyes of the head she held in her hands stared back into hers filled with fear, horror and despair even in death. This head was of course Sera's.

Sakrius looked at her with a smile, amused by her reaction to her daughters death "The rest of her is here if you wanna see." He stepped to the side revealing her corpse to Valkyria causing pure rage to burn in her eyes as her face twitched.

Her body had its arms and legs broken before being ripped off, her stomach and chest were sliced open and her insides removed and spread on the ground in multiple pieces. Her lungs were pierced and her heart was completely crushed.

And the worst part was that all of this had happened while she was alive and breathing so she felt all of it to the very bone.

Valkyria held the head in her hands as her hands the glowed with white light burning the head into fine ash. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you, my dear daughter." She said with tears forming in the corner of her eyes.

She looked up at Sakrius with hatred "You are truly a beast unworthy of redemption, Sakrius." " And you just realized that now." He said calmly.

"The only redemption you are worthy of is death" She said as she summoned the long golden spear into her hand and took a battle stance in the air.

"Just what I've been waiting for." He said as his smile widened as he crouched his body and shot towards her from the ground at great speed.

The long golden spear stabbed straight towards Sakrius as a trail of light was left behind it, Sakrius shifted his body to the side avoiding the spear but as soon as he turned to face Valkyria, he saw her armored fist flying straight at his face.

The punch struck Sakrius sending him flying straight back to the ground as Valkyria threw her spear towards his head as he fell, Sakrius turned just a few fractions of a second late causing the spear to cut his cheek and draw blood.

Valkyria flew towards Sakrius and grabbed him by the head, she glided above the ground while bashing his head in the ground repeatedly, she saw a nearby mountain in the distance and threw Sakrius towards it at great speed, embedding him deep i to the mountain, she raised her hand into the air as it glowed an intense white.

She pointed her hand towards the mountain and released the light on it. The light disintegrated the mountains top with a loud boom leaving behind ash and dust. But Sakrius' figure stood on top of the broken mountain as he looked at Valkyria with a provocative smile.

"Aren't you going to summon your soul artefac?!t" Valkyria asked "Do you care about me that much?" Sakrius asked back.

"No I just want you to fight with everything you have so you'll only have despair and regret when I kill you."

"Just when I thought we were getting close to each other." Sakrius prepared himself for another attack. Valkyria ignored his words and prepared to meet his attacks with just her fists this time. Sakrius launched himself forward again shattering the entire mountain beneath his feet while throwing a powerful punch.

She dodged his punch and sent her own towards his stomach, Sakrius grabbed her fist and was about to attack back when she said "Falling star." Then her entire body was covered in a bright light especially her wings as she dove towards the ground with Sakrius in her grasp.

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOM*

The whole world seemed to shake from the crash as it felt like a literal star had fell at that point, mountains crumbled, the sky shook and ravines spanning hundreds of miles long formed.

The cause of such great devestation was flapping her wings as she floated hundreds of meters above staring down at a Crater five times bigger than the one that was made when Sakrius fought the four demons.

She looked at the center of the Crater where a figure slowly revealed itself from under the rock and debris.

Sakrius looked at her and said "You're strong, at least I'm sure of that but now I want to know..."

"How strong you really are" His smile widened significantly as a red mist started to pour out from his body covering him like a red cloak.
