Chapter 11 - 011: Chit Chat

Xero sat on the ground completely helpless. His mind raced as he saw Horis walking towards him. He wasn't wearing the military uniform.

He had sparkling eyes that radiated brightly. His feet was carved out of the finest gold. His earrings were pure silver and he had a dark red hair that fell upon his shoulders.

"Who are you?" Xero asked not sure he was a human. Horis smiled noticing his naive mind.

'He sure looks familiar. I don't know why but he looks a little familiar to me. Probably it is just resemblance.'

Horis walker over to him and grabbed him by the shoulder then he dropped his left hand on the injured legs. Suddenly, a yellow dazzling light began to envelope over his legs.

"What's that!" Xero muttered in pure shock. He began to feel his wounds stitch back. His eyes widened in shock as he felt his body regaining its fully strength and shape again.

"It's a reverse effect. I'm using it to heal you by reversing the wounds back to normal."

Xero stared at Horis. His mind piecing the puzzles together. His mum had told him a few stories about people who had magic powers like gods. Those people were Dark Angels.

"You're a Dark Angel?" Xero asked and Horis finished up with his wounds and stood up.

"Yes. You've never seen one? Strange." Horis said and smiled lightly. He hadn't heard of anyone who didn't know of the Dark Angels. They were popular among the Safe Zones. It was absurd that a boy of his age was only a Dark Angel for the first time.

"You know that's strange. Most people get to see pne at least when they are about 4 years old. So could you tell me how you come not to know of us?"

Xero stood up and flexed his legs to see what level of improvement the spell had given his leg. He was shocked to notice that was good as new.

"Wow. That was a really good magic you got there." Xero said completely ignoring Horis question. He turned around to notice the dead demons scattered around the front of the Safe Zone.

"Why don't you know of us? Why haven't you ever seen us until now?" Horis asked again.

"Uhm.. that." Xero said and stared up at the sky. Horis joined him in examining the clouds which were returning to the normal white and blue cascading beauty from the terrifying red colour.

"My mum... she doesn't give me the freedom I want. Right from when I can remember, I haven't stepped outside the Safe Zone. I rarely leave our room except on special occasions of which she guides strictly." Xero said clenching his fist unconsciously. Horis noticed his mood swing and decided to perk in.

"Then your mum truly lives you. She doesn't want you to know of the cursed world. This once beautiful world has been shattered into despair and rumbles. Death and horror is only but a daily occurance. It is very thoughtful of her to keep you ignorant of all these." Horis said and smiled lightly.

"No!! How can she keep such a crucial information of life from me. She built my curiosity. Made me a laughing stock. I don't even know how to relate with my peers. I have zero socialisation skill. I feel worthless and my mum doesn't understand what it means to be locked up like a prisoner. I believe if she did she would understand what pain I've been through." Xero and his face fell towards the ground. Tears streaked down his cheek.

Horis walked over to him and patted him on the shoulder. "Don't worry everything will be fine. Your mum will understand that you want freedom now that you stepped out. Whatever she was protecting you from, you have proved to be able to handle it."

Horis then looked at his neck to see a scar at the back of his neck a faint cross that seemed to be camouflaged by paintings around the same area.

'What the hell!'

Horis looked around to notice a pile of dead demons. He wasn't sure the Super Military had reached this side of the battlefield. He then looked at him again unsure if his instincts were correct.

'It's impossible. Even a Commander would be overwhelmed by this massive number. And what weapon could do it so much damage.' Horis thought to himself and then he looked at Xero who seemed to be in a bad mood.

"Hey what's your name?"

"Uhmm... Xero."

"Any middle name?"

"Don't know what that is. But I don't think I have one." Horis stared shocked at his reply.

"Ok then. I think I will be going. See you around." Xero nods lightly before he vanishes into thin air.

Xero stared at the demons on the ground. He clenched his fists lightly. A smile tugged on his lips. He seemed satisfied.

"Damn. You guys were just too weak. It was fun by the way. I got to fight your big shot." Xero said and laughed lightly. He then picked up the gun he had earlier collected in the Safe Zone.

"And to think this thing was useful. Satisfying then. Guess the Super Military will my help but first I will have meet mum for answers." He said and sighed lightly.

He then turned and walked into the Safe Zone. He paused half way and turned back his eyes glinting darkly.

"Let me spare you this once. You owe me a favour." He muttered before he entered the Safe Zone.

Not long after he had exited the area a demon weaved itself out of thin air. His face was brutally damaged. Its once terrifying arua seemed to be broken. It's black blood spilled over the ground.

"What sort of human was that. My wounds aren't healing. His strength and techniques are far superior to a human. Is he truly a human?" His eyes danced in fear.

"What's this? I'm I fearing a human? That's insane. I have leave and inform others. If he is allowed to roam around he will get to Netherlands and that will be devastating.
