Eliana had been feeling... off.
Nausea in the mornings. Fatigue she couldn't explain. But she chalked it up to stress—launching her new company, Adrian's merger, their whirlwind life together.
Until she missed her period.
Twice.
The pharmacy test flashed two pink lines before she could blink.
Pregnant.
She sat on the edge of their bed, staring at the test, heart pounding in her chest.
Adrian found her there, quiet, pale.
"Eliana?" he asked, his brow furrowed.
She handed him the test. No words.
He stared. Blinked. Then looked at her.
A dozen emotions flickered across his face—shock, fear, wonder. Then something else.
Joy.
He dropped to his knees in front of her, placing his hand gently on her stomach.
"Are you okay?" he whispered.
"I think so."
"Do you... want this?"
Tears welled up in her eyes. "With you? Yes."
He smiled—genuinely, boyishly. "Then we're having a baby."
She laughed through the tears. "We're having a baby."
And for the first time in a long time, everything felt perfectly right.
Even the chaos.
