Chapter 2 - A girl chases a handsome young man

"Edward, wait for me!" a beautiful blonde girl shouted childishly, tucking her skirt under her. The mere sound of her voice was enough to send shivers down his spine. She lunged forward, running after a disappearing figure. The figure was tall and thin, with long, flowing burgundy hair that could captivate one's heart. He showed no sign of stopping or looking back. Although his decision was crystal clear, the girl behind him continued to pursue.

Seeing this, the beautiful girl increased her speed, a look of concern etched on her face. Following her was a handsome man dressed in black. His breathing was controlled and his steps steady. A long sword was strapped to his waist. He followed the girl emotionlessly, appearing cold and detached.

"Jean, stop the Second Prince! Hurry! He's about to leave." The beautiful girl stopped walking, furious, stamping her feet as she said to the young man behind her. "Are you blind? Can't you see he's about to leave?!"

The handsome young man replied calmly, in a manner neither respectful nor imperious, "My duty is only to protect you." His eyes were filled with hatred and contempt, but the girl, of course, didn't see it. What he said was very clear: My job is to protect you, not to help you chase men. "You!" The girl's complexion darkened with anger and she stamped her foot as she shouted angrily, "You dare disobey me! Just wait until I tell my grandfather! You're supposed to be my knight, but in reality, you have such an arrogant attitude!" After spitting out those words, the girl lifted the hem of her skirt to run after the second prince again. Jean followed her wordlessly. This kind of farce happened quite often. Every time the foolish girl met a handsome man, she would hover around them like a bee seeing fresh flowers, always buzzing and never stopping, annoying the men so much that it became unbearable. The second prince had already been annoyed several times. This time, he was just trying to visit the Duke but unfortunately, he bumped into the lady. Seeing the second prince hurriedly fleeing, Jean felt sympathy.
