Chapter 3 - The Decision

Chapter Three – The Decision

One night later – Ibrahim's house

It was eight in the morning. At this hour every day, Ibrahim was usually energetic, refreshed after a restful sleep. But today… he looked entirely different. His face was exhausted, his eyes tired, and the signs of anxiety filled his features.

Anyone who had known him since childhood would've immediately noticed—Ibrahim was truly afraid.

"This doesn't make sense… How could that have happened?"

Ibrahim had been muttering these words ever since he left the interrogation room, drowning in his thoughts, trying to understand what he had seen yesterday.

Unknown wasn't a normal child.

He seemed like something from outside this world.

Had Ibrahim not witnessed everything himself, he would've thought he was just another abandoned illegitimate child left on the street.

But…

That first look in his eyes, before it shifted to confusion and fear—it wasn't the look of a child.

It was willpower… something undeniable.

And then that disturbance in the fabric of reality when he tried to ask his name…

And how everyone treated the name "Unknown" as if it were a normal, acceptable, unquestionable name…

All of it filled Ibrahim's heart with fear—but also… something else.

A sense of responsibility.

He was the only one who realized that this being was not ordinary. That something in the world was unraveling—and he alone knew.

He even felt a strange bond with the boy, one he couldn't explain.

And after deep thought, he took a long breath, calmed himself… and made his decision:

"I'll take care of him. I'll adopt him."

---

Ibrahim headed to the hospital. As soon as he arrived, one of the doctors responsible for the boy's case met him.

The doctor said, "You're here for Unknown, right?"

Ibrahim replied, "Yes."

The doctor smirked slightly, "Follow me. Just… try to control your reaction to what you'll see."

Ibrahim thought to himself:

"After everything I've seen… what could possibly surprise me now?"

They arrived at the hospital room. The doctor opened the door and said confidently,

"Go ahead."

But what Ibrahim saw…

He was not prepared for it.

The boy he had seen the night before—his body covered in bruises and wounds, barely able to move—was now…

As if nothing had ever happened.

No scratch. No mark. No bruise.

Only his face… the same features. Everything else looked new, perfectly healed.

Ibrahim was stunned. He stared at the boy, then looked at the doctor.

The doctor smiled and said, "I recognize that look… we all felt the same."

Then he turned to the boy and said,

"This is the man you were looking for… this is Ibrahim."

Unknown lifted his head and stared at Ibrahim.

He felt something strange—a sense of comfort… of familiarity.

Something he hadn't felt with anyone since waking up.

The doctor said in a calm voice,

"He's suffering from memory loss. But he kept describing a man… and it turned out to be you."

Then he added,

"I'll leave you two alone for a while. If you need me, I'll be in Room One."

And he left.

---

Silence fell for a moment.

Then Ibrahim decided to break it:

"Do you remember anything before we met? I mean… what happened to you? Why was your body in that condition yesterday?"

Unknown replied with an honest tone,

"No… I don't remember anything."

"What about your family? Do you have anyone?"

He shook his head,

"I don't know… no one."

Ibrahim smiled gently, then said:

"First… I'm glad you're okay now. Second… I don't want to pressure you, but… do you have a place to stay? A home?"

Unknown looked at him, surprised:

"Home? No… I don't think I have anything like that."

Ibrahim took a deep breath, then said seriously:

"Then come stay with me. I'll adopt you officially. I'll take care of you, provide your education, everything you need…"

Unknown paused for a moment, then answered with a strange confidence:

"Yes."

Ibrahim was slightly surprised by how quickly he accepted, but smiled and said:

"Wait here."

---

Ibrahim stepped out of the room and went to the doctor.

"Hello again. I have a few questions."

"I expected that," said the doctor, motioning for him to sit.

"First… how did his body heal so quickly? Did you use some advanced treatment?"

The doctor chuckled lightly, then leaned in:

"When we examined him, we discovered that his body… is special.

His cell division rate is incredible, and his metabolism is unusually active.

Strangest of all?

Whenever he's injured, his body seems to rebuild itself—stronger than before."

He paused, then whispered:

"Honestly? I suspect he might be a biological experiment from one of… those organizations.

The kind we know exist—but never say out loud."

Ibrahim took a deep breath and hid what he truly knew.

"Poor child," he said quietly.

Then continued,

"Did you confirm he has no family?"

The doctor replied,

"We searched every database. No name. No photo. No record.

It's like he was never born at all."

Ibrahim said:

"Then… I want to adopt him.

I'm an orphan too, and I know what loneliness means.

This child… I can't leave him."

The doctor's face lit up with a warm smile:

"Thank you.

It's rare to find kind hearts in this world."

Then he added:

"Follow me to complete the paperwork."

---

A while later, Ibrahim returned to Unknown's room.

As he opened the door, he said:

"Get ready, son.

From today onward, we begin your new life—together."
