Still catching their breath, Wes and Scarlett wiped away the last of their adrenaline-fueled tension from fighting the swarm of Killer Wasps. Their smiles were genuine, but exhaustion lingered in their limbs.
"Man," Wes said, stretching his back, "those giant bees were way more intense than I expected."
"We're lucky we made it through without getting stung to death," Scarlett replied. "I still can't believe we managed that alone."
"So… what now?" Wes asked, slinging his hands behind his head.
"We should probably find a city or village," Scarlett said thoughtfully. "Get our bearings, figure out where we are."
"Yeah," Wes nodded. "Find a guild, maybe a quest board. Follow the fantasy manual, right?"
"You and your dumb otaku rules," Scarlett muttered, but smiled faintly.
They began walking again, weaving through the lush forest. The air was calm again—until it wasn't.
BOOM!
A distant explosion echoed through the trees. The shockwave rustled branches and kicked up leaves from the ground.
"What the—?!" Wes stopped in his tracks.
Scarlett's head snapped toward the sound. "That didn't sound like a falling tree."
They both looked at each other, hearts racing.
"Should we…?" Scarlett started.
Wes nodded. "We should check it out. Could be someone in trouble. Or something awesome."
Scarlett sighed. "We just finished fighting a group of giant bees, and now you want to go chasing explosions?"
"Hey, it's the fantasy life! Explosions usually mean cool fights or rare monsters!"
"Or death," she muttered.
Still, she nodded, and they both took off running through the trees.
"What do you think it is?" Wes said between breaths.
"Could be anything… mages dueling? Big monsters clashing?"
"Oh! Or powerful warriors battling a terrifying boss! Or—two S-rank beastlords dueling each other while screaming their special move names! Just like in anime!"
Scarlett groaned. "How are you this excited?!"
"Because! It's happening in real life! Isekai dreams coming true!"
"You're an idiot," she muttered again.
Wes smirked and activated his Acrobatics skill. In a flash, he leapt onto a tree branch, then to the next, vaulting forward with parkour-like speed.
"WES!" Scarlett shouted, watching him move like a squirrel ninja. "Show-off!"
He laughed, flipping midair. "Come on, Red Blaze! Keep up!"
"Tch. Idiot." Scarlett dashed after him, sword bouncing at her hip.
After a few minutes of high-speed maneuvering, the sounds of clashing steel and desperate shouting grew louder.
CLANG! ROAR!
They reached a ridge and pressed against a thick tree trunk. Carefully, they peered out from behind it.
Before them, in a wide clearing, chaos was unfolding.
A monstrous serpent, at least twenty feet long, with dark green scales and blood-red eyes, was coiled in a frenzy. Its fangs dripped venom, and with every movement, it crushed trees and hurled debris.
Seven knights in silver and blue armor fought valiantly to hold their ground. Their blades clashed against its tough hide, magic flared from a few of their weapons, and their leader barked commands over the carnage.
"...Whoa," Wes whispered.
Scarlett's eyes were wide. "That thing's huge."
"That's a full-on dungeon boss snake," Wes said, breathless. "And those guys are holding it off like pros."
"We shouldn't jump in," Scarlett said, her tone cautious. "Let's watch what happens. See what these people are capable of."
Wes nodded, lowering his voice. "Agreed. This'll tell us how strong the average knight is here... and if we stand a chance in a real fight like that."
From their hidden vantage point, the two of them observed.
The knights roared their battle cries, blades glowing, and the monstrous serpent answered with a bone-rattling hiss.
Hidden behind the dense tree line, Wes and Scarlett crouched quietly, eyes locked on the chaos in the clearing. The clash between the armored knights and the monstrous serpent was overwhelming.
Wes watched intensely, thoughts racing. "What are they going to do? Can they really bring down a beast like that?"
Then, Scarlett's eyes widened. "Look... behind the knights."
Wes followed her gaze. Standing at the rear of the formation, dressed in radiant elegance, was a young woman like a vision from a storybook.
She had long, flowing platinum-blonde hair that sparkled in the light, a delicate silver tiara resting atop her head. Her eyes—gentle violet flecked with gold—were calm but fierce. She wore elegant white and silver robes embroidered with golden healing runes, a radiant staff in her hands topped with a glowing sun-shaped crystal.
"She looks like a priestess," Scarlett whispered.
Wes squinted. "No... she's more than that."
Suddenly, the woman's voice rang out with powerful resolve. "Do not falter, my knights! Do not embarrass the Kingdom of Elaria! Are you with me?!"
"YES, PRINCESS AMARA LYSELLE!" the knights roared in unison.
She smiled. "Good. Now—CHARGE!"
The knights cried out, blades raised, and charged the beast.
Wes blinked. "She's a princess?!"
Scarlett furrowed her brow. "What's a royal doing out here, leading knights against that thing?"
Wes focused, activating Appraisal again.

Wes's eyes widened. "That's not some beginner monster… that's a legit boss."
Scarlett looked over at him. "What does it say?"
"It's got poison, crazy strength, and more HP than all those knights combined. This thing's brutal."
Wes then glanced back at the princess. He whispered, "Appraisal."
Appraisal: Princess Amara Lyselle – The Noble Healer

Description: First princess of Elaria, Amara is both a trained cleric and a gifted light mage. Known for her graceful spirit and inner strength, she fights alongside her knights on the battlefield, refusing to stay behind palace walls.
"She's a cleric and a light mage?!" Wes whispered. "She's got dual classes!"
"So she can protect and attack... that's rare," Scarlett muttered, impressed.
In the clearing, the knights rushed the Verdant Fang Serpent with coordinated strikes. Their blades met its tough scales, creating sparks and shallow gashes. The serpent hissed and lashed out, its massive tail sweeping two knights off their feet.
Amara's eyes narrowed. She raised her staff, casting a glowing barrier around her forward line.
"Captain Arwen Durnhal! Keep fighting—I'll heal and protect you!"
A gruff man with silver armor and a deep scar over his cheek looked back at her and smiled. "Understood, Your Highness! For Elaria! All units—defend the princess and strike the serpent's eyes!"
The knights rallied behind his command, pressing the offensive.
But even with Amara's support, the serpent was unrelenting. After five minutes of clashing, more knights had fallen, wounded and struggling to rise.
Scarlett and Wes continued watching.
"They're strong, but the snake's not going down," Wes said.
"Should we help?" Scarlett asked.
Wes shook his head. "Not yet… If it gets worse, we'll jump in."
Suddenly—
BOOM!
A massive tail slam sent several knights flying through the air. They landed hard, groaning.
The serpent let out a deafening roar and slithered rapidly toward the fallen Captain Durnhal.
"Captain Durnhal!" Amara screamed, her voice cracking with panic.
The wounded captain groaned, pushing against the earth. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth as he struggled to rise.
"I… I must protect… the princess…" he muttered. "I… cannot… bring shame… to my kingdom…"
With trembling legs, he staggered to his feet.
CRASH!
The serpent's massive tail whipped forward again, slamming directly into Durnhal's chest. The knight was launched backward, colliding with a tree trunk with a sickening crunch. His body crumpled to the ground, unmoving.
"NOOOO!" the princess screamed.
"CAPTAIN!!!" several knights cried out, crawling and limping toward him.
"Please, get up!" one of them shouted.
"You can't die, not like this!" another sobbed.
The serpent hissed and turned its body, eyes locking onto the unconscious captain. It slithered with purpose, coils tightening, fangs bared.
"RUN, PRINCESS!" a knight screamed. "Please, Your Highness, run!"
"GET AWAY FROM HIM, MONSTER!" another yelled, sword dragging across the dirt.
But the serpent didn't slow.
Wes clenched his fists behind the trees. "We might have to step in—this is going bad fast."
Scarlett's eyes stayed locked on the scene. "They're all down… that snake's going to kill him—unless someone stops it…"
Just as the beast loomed over the captain—
Princess Amara moved.
She dashed forward, her silver-white robes fluttering as she placed herself between the serpent and her fallen knight.
"LIGHT BARRIER SHIELD!"
A radiant dome of light burst into existence. The serpent's massive jaws crashed into the barrier with a thunderous impact.
Wes's eyes widened. "She jumped in front of that thing...!"
"She just saved him… by putting herself in danger," Scarlett said softly.
The barrier pulsed as the serpent slammed again.
Amara dropped to one knee, her face pale and strained. Sweat clung to her brow as she dug her staff into the earth for support.
"Please… Arwen… wake up," she whispered, her eyes filled with tears. "I can't do this alone…"
The serpent struck again. The barrier cracked.
"Come on… get up… someone… anyone… help me…!" she pleaded.
The snake roared, pulling its head back. Its scales glinted in the sun. Its jaws parted wide—fangs gleaming.
"I don't want to die… Not like this… Not without protecting them…" Amara thought, closing her eyes.
"Please… someone… save me…!"
The moment froze.
The Verdant Fang Serpent lunged, its gaping fangs only inches from Princess Amara. She closed her eyes, bracing for the end. Then—
"ARC SLASH!"
A flash of black and silver sliced through the air.
CLAAAANG!
Steel clashed against fang with a deafening ring. Amara's eyes shot open.
Before her stood a figure—tall, composed, sword drawn in perfect form.
"Are you alright?" the swordswoman asked calmly, glancing over her shoulder.
Amara blinked in awe. "W-Who are you…?"
The figure turned fully, revealing a confident smirk and piercing emerald eyes.
"Sorry to interrupt. I'm Scarlett Hayes, swordswoman. Nice to meet you, Princess."
Before Amara could reply, the serpent reared back and roared, preparing to lunge again.
"It's coming back!" Amara shouted.
Scarlett clicked her tongue. "Wes, where are you, you idiot?!"
Just then, a voice rang through the air.
"WIND BULLET!"
A compressed blast of air exploded against the serpent's head, hurling it back into the trees with a shockwave that scattered leaves and dust across the clearing.
BOOOOOOM!
A figure landed gracefully in the field, revolver smoking, wind swirling around him.
With raven-black hair and amber eyes gleaming, he grinned.
"Now that's how you make an entrance."
Scarlett rolled her eyes. "Stop acting cool. This isn't an anime."
Wes strutted forward, joking dramatically. "I am serious. I couldn't let that bad-tempered snake ruin our knightly friend here."
Scarlett groaned. "Be serious, idiot!"
SMACK!
"OW! That really hurt! Why do you always hit me so hard?!"
They began bickering, voices overlapping.
Amara blinked, her heart still racing. She watched the odd duo argue like old friends. Who are these people...?
Wes turned back to the others. "Crafted that wind bullet just in time. Bullet Craft never lets me down."
Scarlett crossed her arms. "Cutting it close again... but nice job, idiot."
Amara finally spoke up. "Who... who are you people?"
Scarlett paused, then gave a small, apologetic smile. "Sorry. Scarlett Hayes. This guy is Wes Walker. We're travelers."
Wes grinned. "Pleasure to meet you, Princess. Wes Walker—Magic Gunslinger, hero in progress."
Amara's cheeks tinted pink. "I'm… Princess Amara Lyselle. Thank you both—for saving me."
"Anytime, Your Highness," Wes said with a wink.
STOMP!
"OW! AGAIN?! What was that for?!" Wes shouted, hopping on one foot.
Scarlett sighed. "Stop flirting in the middle of a battlefield. Idiot."
Amara couldn't help but giggle quietly.
But the moment of calm didn't last.
The ground trembled. From the shattered trees, the serpent's head burst out, roaring in fury.
"Oh, come on…" Wes muttered. "He's still alive?!"
Scarlett's eyes narrowed. "How is that thing not dead yet?!"
Wes grimaced. "We're Level 4. That thing's a D-rank, probably Level 25. This isn't a fair fight."
Amara tensed. "That serpent's a powerful mana-infused beast. It's not going down easily."
Wes's mind raced. There's gotta be a way to turn the tide... Then he smiled.
Scarlett noticed. "Why are you smiling like that? What's going on in that thick head of yours now?"
Wes looked at Amara. "Hey, Princess. I need a favor."
"Yes?"
"Cast your healing spell on me."
She blinked. "Healing? Why?"
"Just trust me. Please."
Amara nodded, raised her staff, and cast. "Healing Light!"
Golden light wrapped around Wes, restoring his health.
"Perfect. Time to experiment."
Wes activated Bullet Craft. He poured the light energy into the spell.
DING!
A new screen appeared:
New Bullet Created: Healing Bullet
Type: Magic Bullet (Support)
Effect: Restores HP of target on impact. Can be fired at multiple allies.
"Oh yeah!" Wes said. "Scarlett, cover me. I've got something cool."
"What are you doing now?"
Wes didn't answer. He raised his revolver toward the fallen knights.
"Healing Bullet x7!"
Seven soft-blue shots spiraled through the air—one landing on each downed knight.
BOOM. SHIMMER. FLASH.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" Amara screamed, panicking. "YOU'RE SHOOTING MY KNIGHTS?!"
Scarlett's eyes went wide. "YOU IDIOT! DID YOU JUST SHOOT THEM?!"
"Wait, wait—it's not what you think!" Wes shouted.
Scarlett tackled him into a headlock. "You absolute moron!"
"AAAAH! MY HEAD! IT HURTS! I'M SORRY! MERCY!" Wes flailed, tapping her arm.
"Why would you shoot the people we're trying to save?!"
"Because! They're healing bullets! I swear! Look—look at them!"
Amara, trembling, looked at her knights. The glow from the bullets softened.
One knight stirred. Another groaned. Slowly, they began rising, inspecting themselves.
"I... I feel incredible," one knight muttered.
"My wounds... they're gone," said another, in disbelief.
"What was that magic? I feel like I just slept for a full day."
Captain Durnhal opened his eyes. "Where... where am I...?"
Amara ran to him, tears in her eyes. "Captain! You're okay!"
He blinked. "I... remember the serpent... then light..."
"You were saved. By them," she said, pointing to Wes and Scarlett.
Scarlett still had Wes in a headlock.
"She's trying to kill me and I SAVED them!" Wes groaned.
"Let go of him, Scarlett," Amara said gently.
Scarlett sighed and released him. Wes slumped over, holding his head.
"I need an actual healing spell now…"
Amara turned toward Wes, her eyes drawn to his weapon.
What kind of weapon is that...? A revolver? But it channels magic… and shoots spells? I've never seen anything like it.
The knights were now fully alert, drawing swords again. Some looked at Wes in awe.
"He healed us... with a gun?"
"I've never seen magic like that."
Before more could be said—
ROAAAARRRR!
The Verdant Fang Serpent lunged out of the rubble, eyes glowing, fangs dripping.
"It's coming!" Wes shouted.
Scarlett drew her sword. "Let's finish this."
Wes pointed his revolver. "Team effort this time."
Amara stood, staff glowing. "Together."
Durnhal rose, blade steady. "For the princess. For Elaria!"
"FOR ELARIA!" the knights roared.
Everyone stood in formation.
Wes grinned. "Let's take down this ugly reptile."
The Verdant Fang Serpent lunged with a roar, jaws wide.
Everyone scattered—dodging in time as the massive beast crashed into the ground, claws and fangs digging into the earth.
Captain Durnhal landed with a roll and pointed his sword forward. "CHARGE!"
The knights roared as one, sprinting toward the serpent.
Blades met scale. Sparks flew. The monster hissed, swinging its massive tail and snapping its venomous jaws as knights danced and struck around it.
Princess Amara stood behind them, staff raised, casting barriers and healing spells to shield and protect her warriors.
Wes and Scarlett watched from the edge of the fight.
Wes flashed a grin. "Shall we, partner?"
Scarlett gave a sharp nod. "Let's do it."
Scarlett dashed in, blade glinting.
Wes leveled his revolver. "Let's turn down the heat... Freezing Point Shot!"
BOOM!
A blue-white bullet of frost slammed into the serpent's side. Ice spread across its scales, slowing its movement.
Scarlett slashed her way in, joining the knights in close combat. Her sword danced, striking with precision and fury. Tag-team combos followed—knights covering her flanks while she dealt targeted blows.
The serpent hissed in pain, then retaliated.
Its tail whipped around, knocking a few knights back. It used Poison Cloud, spraying green mist, but Amara countered with Radiant Ward, dispersing the haze with holy light.
Scarlett yelled, "Cover me!"
She lunged forward, sword glowing, and with a precise upward strike—
SLASH!
—she stabbed the serpent directly in its eye.
The beast shrieked in agony, thrashing violently.
Scarlett flipped back, landing beside Wes.
Wes looked at her. "Combo attack?"
"Sounds interesting."
She charged again.
Wes grinned. "Let's play. Magic Shot: Water!"
BLAM! The snake was soaked.
"Now... Shock Burst Round!"
Another round blasted forward. The combination of water and electric energy caused a massive burst of light and sound.
The serpent convulsed violently, paralyzed for a moment, body jerking under the electric current.
Scarlett appeared behind it and used her new sword skill—Crimson Dance—a multi-hit combo of blinding slashes.
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! Her blade tore across its back.
The knights rallied.
"NOW!" Captain Durnhal shouted. "Strike together!"
They surged forward.
Blades clashed against the monster's hide, knights leaping, rolling, dodging. A flurry of attacks came from every direction—slashes at the legs, thrusts into its exposed underbelly, overhead blows from spearmen. Some knights used minor elemental spells—fire enchantments, wind strikes—trying to push the beast back.
Princess Amara continued her support. She spun her staff and shouted, "Barrier Pulse!" A protective field shimmered over the frontlines, deflecting one of the serpent's poison darts. Her voice rang again, "Heal! Heal! Light Surge!" Pulses of golden energy spread across her fallen comrades, giving them strength to rise once more.
But the serpent wasn't done.
It turned, locking eyes with Wes.
"My turn," Wes muttered.
He charged. The serpent lunged.
Wes activated Acrobatics, leaping to the side, flipping backward midair, then vaulting from the base of a rock.
"Mana Shot!"
BANG!
He fired while upside down. The bullet slammed into the serpent's snout.
He landed on the branch of a tree, used it like a springboard, and launched himself back toward the beast.
The serpent swung its tail. Wes twisted midair, barely avoiding the hit, spinning horizontally through the gap between two branches. He kicked off the trunk of another tree, vaulted from a thick vine, then leapt onto the serpent's back.
"Double Tap!"
BANG! BANG!
Two shots—one to the eye, the other to the neck. The serpent hissed, whipping around violently. Wes backflipped off its back, landed on a mossy rock, and fired again.
"Mana Shot!"
The bullet connected with the serpent's side, causing it to rear.
Knights and Scarlett watched from the ground.
"Is he... jumping off everything he can find?!" one knight shouted.
"Is that guy laughing?!"
"He's actually enjoying this fight!"
Scarlett scowled. "He's being a reckless idiot again... as always."
Amara watched with wide eyes. "He moves like he's dancing... but with danger."
"Ricochet Round!" Wes shouted.
The bullet bounced off a tree, hit the serpent's tail, then ricocheted again into its neck.
The snake hissed and launched a counterattack.
Wes dodged left, sliding under the strike, flipped over a fallen tree, and ran up the trunk of another. The snake tried to follow—snapping at him with rage—but Wes stayed one step ahead.
"You're mad? That's cute!" he joked. "Here's another! Mana Shot!"
He fired again, bouncing from rock to rock, tree to tree.
"He's like a squirrel with a revolver," one knight muttered.
"More like a lunatic with style," another added.
Scarlett facepalmed. "Please don't let him get eaten."
The serpent's tail swung.
Wes blocked with crossed arms, but the sheer power sent him flying.
He hit a tree hard and fell to the ground.
"WES!" Scarlett shouted.
"Wes!" Amara echoed.
Groaning, he sat up. "That one stung..."
He looked up.
"Oh shit."
The serpent lunged again.
"LIGHT BARRIER!" Amara's voice rang out.
A golden shield flared into existence.
CRASH!
The serpent slammed into it, halted inches from Wes.
Wes blinked. "Thanks for the save, Princess."
Amara smiled. "Just returning the favor."
Wes stood. "Flashstep!"
He vanished, reappearing beside Scarlett and Amara.
"You okay, idiot?" Scarlett asked.
Wes grinned. "Felt like getting hit by a truck... again."
Scarlett rolled her eyes. "Of course you're fine if you're cracking jokes."
The serpent roared again, fury rising.
Captain Durnhal regrouped the knights. "We need a final plan. Circle it, coordinate attacks. No gaps!"
Amara nodded. "I'll keep shields on the front line."
Scarlett and Wes exchanged a look.
"We end this," Scarlett said.
"One last push," Wes replied.
Everyone moved into position.
The final phase of battle was about to begin.
Wes raised his revolver. "Let's finish this, shall we?"
Everyone nodded.
"Flashbang Shot!" he shouted.
The explosive burst of bright light blinded the serpent. It thrashed in rage.
"GO!" Captain Durnhal roared.
The knights charged as one. Steel rang out.
They clashed with the beast again—some leaping onto its back, others stabbing at the underbelly. The serpent screeched, blinded but deadly, its fangs and tail thrashing wildly.
A knight shouted, "For the Princess!"
"For the Kingdom!"
Sword met scale. The beast bucked, tossing two knights through the air. Another knight ducked just in time as the serpent's tail slammed into a tree, splintering it.
Captain Durnhal sprinted across the battlefield, then leapt high above. "NOW!"
He plunged his blade deep into the serpent's back. It roared in agony.
Wes and Scarlett exchanged a look.
"Back me up, idiot!"
"Always got your back."
Scarlett dashed in.
The serpent sensed movement and lunged for her.
"Gravity Shell!" Wes fired.
The shell struck. With a burst of magical force, the serpent's body became impossibly heavy, slamming it to the ground.
Scarlett zipped forward with incredible speed.
She used her skill, Dragon Fang Slash, and aimed straight for the neck.
SLASH!
A wide gash tore across the thick scales.
She landed, breath heaving. "Damn it... it wasn't enough."
The serpent roared and turned to lunge at her.
"Light Barrier!" Amara's voice echoed.
A radiant shield erupted between the two. The serpent slammed into it.
Scarlett grinned, looking at Amara. "Thanks, Princess."
"No problem!"
Scarlett glanced sideways. "Wes! Finish it!"
Wes nodded. His revolver gleamed in his hand.
He pointed it at the serpent's forehead.
His eyes narrowed, going cold. "Goodbye..."
"Magic Shot: Fire – FULL POWER!"
The revolver ignited. Fire elemental energy spiraled in the barrel.
With a thunderous bang, the bullet shot forward.
It pierced the serpent's skull—straight through its brain.
Everything froze.
For a moment, all was still.
Then the serpent's entire body burst into flames.
It screeched one last time before crashing to the ground. A shockwave of heat and smoke erupted.
BOOOOOM!
When the dust settled... the Verdant Fang Serpent lay dead. Burned, unmoving.
The battlefield fell into silence.
Wes collapsed on his back, gasping. "I... did it!"
The knights stared at the smoldering remains.
"By the gods... what power is that?"
"That weapon... it doesn't look like any wand or staff I've seen."
"Is it... a crossbow?"
"No—it's something else entirely."
Captain Durnhal narrowed his eyes. What kind of weapon is that? And who IS this boy...?
Scarlett walked over, arms crossed.
She smirked. "Are you alright, idiot?"
Wes grinned weakly. "Alive... barely. Out of magic... but worth it."
She rolled her eyes. "Reckless idiot."
"Heroic reckless idiot," he corrected with a grin.
Scarlett snorted. "Keep telling yourself that."
She offered him her hand, and he pulled himself up, his arm around her shoulders.
They looked at each other. "We fought a giant snake together," Wes said, grinning. "Nothing can stop us now."
Scarlett shook her head, but smiled. "Yeah. We did it."
Princess Amara approached slowly.
She stared at Wes—still smiling like a fool despite his exhaustion.
His smile... it's different. Warm. Carefree. And dangerous. She blushed, shaking the thought from her head.
Wes saw her. "Hey, Princess. What's up?"
Scarlett immediately pinched his side.
"OW OW OW! That hurts! I'm fragile right now!"
"You're flirting again. Stop being a creep."
"I was just being polite!"
"Polite doesn't mean calling her 'my beautiful princess,' you lunatic."
"SHE IS beautiful!"
Scarlett slapped his shoulder.
"AHH! I HAVE NO MANA—TAKE PITY ON ME!"
Amara giggled, watching their antics. "You two are... very lively."
Wes looked at her. "I'm okay, just low on power."
Amara stepped closer, a gentle glow in her hands. "Let me help."
"Healing Light."
Warm energy flowed through him. Wes's body lit with golden aura.
He stood upright, stretching. "Oh yeah, that's the stuff!"
He beamed. "Thanks, my beautiful princess."
Amara blushed, eyes wide. He keeps saying that so easily... like he means it. I've never met someone like him...
Scarlett's fist slammed down on his head.
"OWWW! AGAIN?!"
"Stop flirting!"
"I'm appreciating her divine medical care!"
"You're embarrassing us!"
"She's not complaining!"
Amara covered her mouth, laughing softly. "You're both like fire and wind—chaotic but somehow in sync."
Wes smiled at that.
Captain Durnhal stood in the background, observing silently.
Wes Walker... Scarlett Hayes... just who are you two?
To be continued...
