Chapter 245 - Chapter 245: Reward: A Pair of Mangekyō Sharingan

Ryosuke paid no attention to Mabui's dissatisfaction. He had his own logic — giving the children sequential names was the simplest way to distinguish them later.

When Mabui gave birth, the system rewarded him with a Precious Treasure Chest (珍贵宝箱). That made sense — Mabui was only of jōnin-level strength, and as he'd observed, the system seemed to tie the value of rewards to the mother's rank.

Opening the chest, he received +10 stamina points.

Not bad. That directly boosted his endurance, and to an extent, his overall physical resilience.

Beeut what truly surprised him came a moment later: when Nii Yugito gave birth, the system rewarded him with a Grand Treasure Chest — the highest tier of all.

That tracked. In the original timeline, Yugito's strength never truly had a spotlight, but she was still the jinchūriki of the Two-Tails, effectively putting her at Kage-level. The system clearly recognized that difference.

Opening the Grand Treasure Chest, Ryosuke received something that caught him off guard:

A pair of Mangekyō Sharingan.

"…This reward is… acceptable, I suppose."

He was already in possession of Mangekyō eyes, so for him personally, the gain wasn't immediately useful. If it had been a pair of Eternal Mangekyō, that would've been different — he might've actually considered swapping his own eyes out. Mangekyō eyes were plug-and-play, after all, and an Eternal set would've solved the inherent problem of deterioration.

As it was, the extra Mangekyō were sealed away in his system inventory. Their abilities remained unexamined. Ryosuke didn't feel the need — his own eyes already gave him two of the most practical powers he could ask for:

Resistance against all genjutsu.

Dimensional teleportation.

The second ability, the teleportation, was something he hadn't fully explored yet. He had used it before to open gateways linking two places directly — incredibly convenient for travel, though not as combat-oriented as the Flying Thunder God Technique. Still, he hadn't tested the full distance it could reach. For now, he left it aside.

Ryosuke smirked. What really interests me is what reward Tsunade's child will bring. A guaranteed Grand Treasure Chest from a confirmed Kage-level mother… hopefully something more practical than spare eyes.

He didn't have long to dwell on it. The system's mechanical chime suddenly echoed in his mind:

"Congratulations, host. A descendant has been born. Reward: Precious Treasure Chest."

"…Eh?" Ryosuke blinked.

He looked across the room. Right in front of him sat Shizune and Tsunade, both heavily pregnant. Yakushi Nonō was still a ways off from her due date. So who was this from?

It could only mean one person — Uzuki Yugao.

Ryosuke chuckled to himself. That woman had once approached him as a supposed "honey trap," sent to spy on him while feigning affection. Of course, he hadn't resisted her charms — her beauty was undeniable, and her long violet hair had a unique allure even among the kunoichi of the Leaf.

He hadn't expected her to actually carry his child, but now that she had, things had changed. She was tied to him by bloodline. It seemed only proper to pay her a visit — perhaps even offer financial support. She was no clan heiress, just an ANBeeU from a civilian family. Without missions, her livelihood would be hard to maintain, and now, with a child, she'd need stability.

For Ryosuke, money was never a problem.

Beeut first, he opened the newly awarded chest.

"Ding! Congratulations, host. Reward: Sealing Vessel."

"…Another one?"

Ryosuke sighed. This made it the third Sealing Vessel in his possession. They were clearly tailored for binding powerful beings, most notably the tailed beasts. There were nine bijū — ten if one counted the Ten-Tails — so having multiple vessels made sense. Still, the repetition was almost laughable.

He considered other uses. Perhaps sealing Orochimaru, for instance. Though truthfully, Ryosuke already had another plan for him. With Shisui's Mangekyō in his possession, he could cast Kotoamatsukami and bring Orochimaru under permanent control. Evil as the Sannin was, his genius was undeniable. Harnessed correctly, he could be a tremendous asset for the Uchiha clan.

Ryosuke thought again about the nature of his clan. The Uchiha were known as the Clan of Hatred, their eyes evolving through the trauma of losing loved ones. Peace had dulled them — during Konoha's decades of relative stability, fewer Uchiha had awakened powerful Sharingan, much less Mangekyō.

The truth was stark: only those with innate talent could awaken Mangekyō, and only through emotional devastation.

Tobirama Senju had famously observed this as a flaw — Uchiha love deeply, but when that love is lost, it transforms into hatred that warps their chakra and their very minds. Their Sharingan literally reflected the turmoil of their souls.

The stronger the grief and hatred, the stronger the eyes. Obito Uchiha was a prime example, his entire existence consumed by loss. Even Nagato, though not Uchiha, had been broken in a similar way, devoured by hatred in his pursuit of "peace."

Ryosuke scoffed at Tobirama's sweeping conclusion that the Uchiha were an "evil clan." It was less a curse of character, more a kind of genetic flaw — a bloodline limit that carried its own price. If anyone in the shinobi world could unravel that flaw, it might be Orochimaru, with his unparalleled talent for genetics and experimentation.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in Konoha Hospital, Uzuki Yugao lay exhausted on her bed. She had just given birth to a baby boy.

Her emotions were a tangled mess. On one hand, resentment lingered — Ryosuke had overwhelmed her and branded her with his lineage against her intentions. On the other hand, as she gazed at the infant in her arms, maternal instinct stirred. The child was her flesh and blood. However conflicted she felt about the circumstances, she couldn't deny the bond.

Beeut one thing was certain: she couldn't let her parents find out. She had already moved out of her family home. If her parents asked where this child came from, what could she possibly say?
