Chapter 2 - Chapter 2; my death

Isn't my death a bit too fast?

I did something good for once and died in return. But I don't feel anything at all, anger, frustration, sadness, disappointment, or regret.

I think I wanted this to happen, maybe I wasn't meant to live this long. Maybe I went against my fate and lived this far without a plan, and the world realized and finally decided to end my life.

But how long am I staying here? Shouldn't I go to hell now and take my punishment for my sin and hope I'm given a chance for reincarnation.

Hello?

Anyone?

Heaven!? If I'm worthy enough.

Hell? Death!? Are you not gonna get me?

Come-on! It's weird, you know—staring at your lightning-fried corpse like it's just another body on the news.

The fact that it's still raining and my body is just flat down in here, with no sign of people coming. This is just sad.

Even after an hour, there were no changes, so I just stood there looking over my body... I'm glad I was not living in a country where animals that eat corpses exist.

With nothing else to do, I looked around in my surroundings hoping to find anything, but this was quickly stopped after I realized I could not move any farther.

After moving five meters away from my body, I found myself trapped inside an invisible wall that goes around in all directions.

Since I was a ghost, I tried to phase through the ground and hope to find an exit, but I couldn't do that either.

Looks like I was not an actual ghost yet, but only in astral projection of my existence, then does this mean I can live if I receive any form of aid?

Walking back to my body, I looked at the outfits that I wore before leaving my home. Right now, my entire body looks like those censored bodies in anime where the main character is naked. This weird bright white light covers my entire body from the neck-below.

Slippers. Wearing a hooded jacket with a black shirt inside. Long jogging pants. With a brown and white striped boxer.

My hands clench tightly on my phone and umbrella, in my pocket there's my wallet and pocket knife, which I got from my uncle.

Sighed, I'm really dead huh! And it looked like I'll be an earthbound spirit that won't leave this area till the end.

.....

Another hour has passed, and in this time, my body is being fed on by tiny snails and slugs from the water. I wanted to slap them away, but my hand went through my body only.

Oh yeah!

There's this random white portal hovering above my body.... I kinda want to enter it but I'm quite afraid to do it. This might be a portal to hell? But why is it white?

Another hour has passed, I think the night is about to come. I can't really tell since the sky is dark thanks to the rain..., I feel like the world is crying for my death. The lightning strike also stopped as if it had completed its job already.

hahaha! I guess I should enter this now!? There's nothing for me to do in this world. Three hours after being struck down by lightning should be a good sign, that.... I'm not gonna live.

Walking over to the portal, I felt my body getting heavy. Which was weird since after dying I haven't felt the cold or anything at all, but now I'm feeling the weight of my body.

Touching the portal, I felt a tingling sensation that filled my body with energy that I had never felt before. It wasn't electricity or heat, it was warm yet cold. But most of all caring, it felt like how my mom used to wake me up when I slept late.

Gulping down my worries and biting my lips. I step my foot inside, placing it down on whatever was behind the portal. Taking a breath, I took one big step and entered the portal entirely.

"On June 29, 2048, sometime between five and six in the afternoon, Cain—a normal college student—left this world permanently."

******

As I entered the portal, I found myself in a glass tunnel. Like one of those aquariums, where we can see the sea animals from below.

But instead of water and the sea floor, I found myself staring into the giant's bubbles of all kinds and sizes, glimmering in different colors.

Those are probably the universes within the multiverse..., so they do look like a marble. I have read and watched enough media with the idea of the multiverse existing, but seeing one before my eyes is a different thing.

It looked like this tunnel was showing me the place where I needed to go..., hahahaha, looked like I'm gonna reincarnate in another world.

But I'm gonna take my time to move though, I'm not wasting my chance to see this you know. Who knows when the next time I can see this again?

Tapping my pocket, I realized I had my body back, with all the things I had before. I quickly stopped and sat on the floor, taking out all the things I had on me.

I stripped down to my boxer only and laid all the things in front of me:

My hooded jacket.

Black shirt.

Long jogging pants.

Slippers.

My phone with black case.

Wallet.

Mom's pocket knife.

Folding umbrella.

And the Towel I used on my head.

Looks like I have everything. I looked at both sides and up and down making sure no one could see me, seeing that no one was watching me.

I opened my phone case and pulled out three memory cards, each one having 120 gigabytes of storage. I looked at them like bountiful treasure that cannot be replaced, which they are.

I have a total of 4 memory cards with me, the one on my phone has random pictures of me with my classmate, school work, activities, and events.

One has a dedicated collection of downloaded movies and TV shows with seasons on it, and there are even some survival videos on it, allowing me to watch them every time there's a blackout. Or when the internet is not working and when a typhoon happens.

The third one is the best out of them all, Anime, Mangas, Novels, and Webnovels are downloaded into this one, allowing me to spend a good time reading them, and there's also anime edits and gameplay of the games that I played, and most of all, personal items that I use at 3 in the morning.

And for the fourth one, it doesn't have anything on it yet but it looks like it will have its unique content on it. Allowing me to record my new life in the new world.

Putting my clothes on, I stood up and the next second one of the giant bubbles before me exploded without a warning.... Did that universe ended right before my eyes!?

Looking at the rest of the bubbles if they were gonna explode too, but they were not. Seeing this I decided to move along the tunnel, not wanting to see anything like that again.

As I sprint, I find some bubbles with people on top of them, some people look like they're cultivators, some have angelic looks, some look like spirits.

Not wanting trouble, I sped up my pace. As the tunnel showed which universe I was gonna enter, I spotted another person on top of the bubble, making me stop and stare at her. The bubble she was on was at the same level as my sight allowing me to see her.

She possessed flowing, luxurious pink hair adorned with various accessories. Her smile was angelic, and her beauty was unparalleled. She had a prominent front and back, along with an hourglass figure.

However, what captivated me most was the pottery resting on her lap, which featured a small tree growing from it, with roots connecting to the bubble she was seated upon.

Looking closer at the tree, I found it withering, as if it were dying already. Looking back at her face, I found her frowning at the sight of me looking at it.

Unable to convey my words of apology, I bowed down with all my own.

Looking back up, I found her on the verge of tears.

Seeing this, I found my heart in pain, I didn't need to be told to, since I already saw what would happen to her... The universe she was in was nearing the end.

Opening my eyes, I found her right in front of me, just behind the tunnel I was in. She looked at me for a moment, before phasing through the wall, then she stood next to me.

Looking up, she was taller than I, who was around 5'11. Opening my mouth I asked her.

"Are you alright!?" My voice cracked as I said the words.

She nodded only to my question, then pointed at my left pocket. Seeing this, I pulled out what was inside it. And pulled out the pocket knife I got before and handed it to her.

She picked up my pocket knife of mine and looked at it for a moment, then she swiped her fingers on the blade, creating a root-like design on them entirely.

Taking it back as she handed it back to me, I wanted to ask her what she did, but before I could even form a word, she suddenly kissed me and pushed me back.

For some reason, even without looking back, I knew the portal of the universe I was gonna enter was there, I looked back at her, with my mind cluttered with clouds, wanting to ask why she did this.

But I couldn't say anything at all. She looked deep into my eyes and said with the most alurring voice I have heard.

"I'll leave the last trace of my existence and universe to you!" She said with tears in her face, with the bubble she was on before, behind her exploded before me.

"WHAT!"

Those were my last words as I was sucked into the new universe and my last sight was her disappearing before my eyes.

"I didn't understand. I didn't know who she was. I didn't even get her name. But now… she's gone, and her entire world with her. And for some reason—I felt like crying."
