no one came to check on him in the hospital for the next two days. It is not like he has anyone , whenever he is in pain, he has to comfort himself for his younger brother not to notice he needs to work several part-time jobs he had take so that his brother could attend a kindergarten
but since he was in the hospital, kim-won can't go to school
he picked up his phone to check the money he still had left till he could find another job to take .
he later got discharged from the hospital. carrying his brother on his back, he walked down the street looking for a vacancy
since he could not find any, he bored a taxi and told him his location
The taxi driver came to a halt at the address that kim-tan had told him. He waited to see him alight but was surprised when the man he carried remained in the car without the slightest intention of stepping out of the car.
He glanced at him from the rear view mirror and saw his teary eyes.he was shedding tears and at the same time seemed to be lost in distant thoughts
The taxi driver shook his head. Everyone has one battle or the other they are fighting. He doesn't know what is eating up such a young, handsome man, but he knows he looked troubled and lost.
He has his own battle, too, and he may not know him as much as he cannot guess his. He sighed softly before saying, "we are there,"
But kim-tan didn't hear him talk to him .He repeated it one more time and pressed his car horn.
Kim-tan suddenly jerked out of his thoughts and looked embarrassed.
How long had this man been talking to him, and he didn't hear him. He had to even press the horn button.
he cleaned his tears and alighted from the car quickly. he paid the fees but before the taxi man collected the money he said "young man, I may not know what you are facing at present but I want you to be strong and don't lose hope.
Everything will be fine, give it time. " he did not collect the money and even told him to take care of his brother. he smiled and said thank you to him before hurrying his steps towards the house.
But at the threshold, he froze when he heard the voices of those in the house:
Kim tan rushed to the house immediately and saw his landlord packing his things outside the house
hey, handsome mute, since you can't pay my rent, you should be able to move out .You kept postponing the payment, and I pitied you because of your gambling mother, but not anymore. You need to leave today
kim-tan wanted to cry but held his tears back .He shouldn't act weak, or else those other neighbours would mock him for being mute again
sometimes, he wished he could talk because talking with his hands makes him look weird
he wants to beg the landlord to let him stay for a few days till he can find a job and then pay for his rent, but he feels uncomfortable, and the man will just disgrace him more
he stepped into the house to pick his younger brother kim-won school bag and other things needed through his things his not have just a few clothes and a folding mat to sleep and his father's picture .he turned back and left with his younger brother
even though he has nowhere to go .he walked briskly out of the compound, and tears he had been trying to hold back seemed to loose, and it flowed down his cheeks uncontrollable .
