Chapter 25 - Unbreakable Ties

The nigh was quiet, moonlight pouring into Dimitri's massive bedroom, painting silver patterns across the sheets. lev lay curled against Dimitri's chest, exhausted but warm. Dimitri's hand was still splayed protectively on Lev's lower belly, where the heat of their shared passion hadn't faded yet.

''Stay here tonight,'' Dimitri's voice was a low, husky whisper against Lev's ear. 'Don't even think about leaving,''

Lev swallowed, cheeks pink, eyes half-lidded. ''I.....I wasn't going to....'' His voice trailed off when Dimitri shifted closer, the heat between them sparking all over again

They'd spent hours tangled together, bodies desperate to prove something words couldn't say. Dimitri moved again, kissing Lev like he owned him, breathless, almost frantic. His lips traced every mark he'd left earlier --- bruises of passion--as if to remind Lev, you're mine.

When Dimitri finally thrust forward, they both gasped ---- and Lev felt the sharp, overwhelming pulse of Dimitri's knot swelling inside him. Panic and pleasure crashed together in his chest.

''Dim....Dimitri------! Lev whimpered, voice shaky.

''SHHHH...''Dimitri's grip on his waist tightened. ''I've got you. Just breath.'' His voice was strained, almost guttural as he tried to pull but couldn't. The knot had locked them together.

Lev panted. tears pricking his eyes---from sensation, shock, from fear. ''You....knotted me.....''

Dimitri stroked Lev's hair, pressing kisses to his temple. ''I didn't, mean to....but fuck, Lev ......you're perfect. I couldn't stop'' His words came in rough bursts. ''I don't regret it.''

Lev felt his heart twist. He should hate Dimitri for this--------but the way Dimitri was holding him, comforting him even in his own loss of control, made him feel...safe. Wanted

Outside, unseen by either of them, a pair of eyes watched through a high-powered camera lens from a nearby rooftop. Aleksei's spy. The man lowered his radio, whispering.

After a few days--------------- one morning Lev wake up. His stomach twisted nauseatingly. He pressed a hand to lips and rushed to the bathroom, gagging. Dimitri was right behind him, rubbing his back with a worried frown.

''You okay?'' Dimitri asked softly, voice rough with sleep.

''I...I don't know,'' Lev murmured, rinsing his mouth. His face was pale, his hands trembling.

Dimitri lifted Lev's chin gently. ''You're burning up.....i'm calling the doctor.''

''No!'' Lev shouted. ''It's just....just a bug or something. I'll be fine.'' He couldn't tell Dimitri was he feared ----- not yet.

But Dimitri looked unconvinced, thump brushing Lev's lower lip. ''You smell .... different,'' he murmured almost to himself.

Lev flinched, heart hammering. ''It's nothing. I swear.'' He tried to pull away, but Dimitri caught him, pressing to himself. He tried to pull away, but Dimitri caught him, pressing his forehead to Lev's.

''You don't get to lie to me anymore, Lev.''
