Chapter 2 - House in Forks

After learning how to operate my system, I spent the whole day acquiring skills. I picked up every cheat I ever dreamed of having in my life. When I looked at my status, I felt invincible.

Looking at my status, I was incredibly satisfied. Now, I feel invincible in this world — and I can tell my powers are still growing.

I'm headed to Forks. I'll arrive at my father William's house in less than thirty minutes.

Meanwhile, I close my eyes to rest. Like in the novels, the Eucharist of Chaos physique changes your appearance. When I acquired this physique, I felt a warm sensation throughout my body… and an odd tightness in my pants.

Just as I was about to check, a horrible stench hit me — so strong it nearly made me vomit.

I opened my eyes and saw my body was covered in an oily film, just like the ones described in Chinese cultivation novels. I rushed to the hotel bathroom and showered for nearly two hours to wash off the rotten smell.

When I looked in the mirror, I saw my new form. I used to be a little chubby. Now I'm lean, and my body looks sculpted to perfection.

My chest, abs, arms, legs, and thighs are all packed with compact muscles. Honestly? I look amazing.

Looking at my now perfectly defined face, I almost fell in love with myself. And then… I looked at my "little brother." He seemed a bit startled.

"Isn't that a little too big?"

Yeah… both size and girth had changed. I'd say I used to be average — now I'm way above.

After inspecting a bit, I decided to ignore it for now. With the system, I can adjust my "younger brother" whenever I want.

...

As I was thinking about these things, I felt the bus come to a stop. I opened my eyes and realized I'd reached my destination.

After grabbing my luggage, I stepped off the bus and spotted a man in a suit holding a sign with my name.

When I looked closer, I recognized him. It was my father, William.

I walked up and greeted him. "Dad."

The man in the suit looked me up and down, visibly surprised. "You… you're Mark?"

William asked, still in disbelief. I frowned and replied.

"You don't even recognize your own son?"

Realizing his mistake, William quickly apologized. "Sorry, son. You look totally different from the photo I had."

He stepped forward and gave me a hug. I returned it.

"Here, let me help you with your bags."

He grabbed my luggage and tossed it in the trunk. After I got in the car, he drove us toward my new home.

During our conversation, I learned that my dad has been living in Forks since the divorce. He owns a hospital here and works as a doctor — which I thought was pretty cool. In my other life, my dad was also a doctor, but he worked in a public hospital.

After some time on the road, we arrived at my father's house. The last time I visited was four years ago.

It's a big and beautiful house — I could even call it a mansion.

"I already had your old room cleaned up. If you need anything, just let me know," William said as he showed me to my room.

I smiled and thanked him.

"When you get your driver's license, I'm going to buy you a car."

Hearing that, I remembered that here in the U.S., you can get a license at 16. It'd definitely make getting around more convenient.

"Thanks, Dad. I studied before coming, so I just need to take the driving test."

I didn't dive into the body's memories — but yeah, he studied before moving to Forks.

"That's great. It rains a lot here, so having a car is a must," William said as he walked to the window and pointed out the rainy weather.

I stepped closer and looked outside. "Guess I'll need to get used to this climate."

"Well, I need to head out. You must be tired from the trip, so rest for now. When I get back later, let's go out for dinner — sound good?"

William said as he walked out of my room. I nodded in response.

Thinking about my system, I felt excited. My life in Forks is going to be anything but boring.

And yeah — Forks is the same town where Twilight takes place.
