Devil May Cry Naval Base: Ship's Hold
Days after acquiring the ghost ship, the shipgirls scrubbed it spotless, replacing tattered sails with bold red-and-black ones at Dante's insistence. While cleaning, they stumbled upon a room brimming with gold and silver treasures. Excitement rippled through the crew—some even did little victory dances.
Ryuujou's voice cracked with glee. "What do we do with all this!?"
Akagi's eyes sparkled. "Let's go eat tons of food!"
Kaga nodded sagely. "As expected of Akagi."
Dante cut in. "Vetoed."
Kisaragi twirled her hair. "I want new clothes~"
Akatsuki chimed in. "Seconded!"
Dante again. "Vetoed."
Naka's voice soared. "Naka-chan wants a live stage at the training grounds—"
Dante didn't blink. "Vetoed."
Naka pouted. "You didn't even let me finish! Jintsuu, the Admiral's being mean~"
Jintsuu sighed. "A stage is the least necessary, Naka."
Naka wailed. "No way~!?"
The debate over the treasure's use grew heated. Dante declared he'd manage it alone, sparking accusations of hogging it. The argument escalated until a commanding voice silenced them all.
Houshou stepped forward. "The Admiral managing it? Also vetoed."
Her reasoning? If Dante controlled the treasure and cashed it in, he'd likely squander it. She'd take charge instead.
Houshou's gaze swept the room. "Any objections?"
Silence.
Dante was the Admiral, but in the quiet moments of the base, Houshou held the real power. Nobody dared argue—meals were at stake.
Houshou turned to Dante. "You're fine with this, Admiral?"
Dante grumbled. "It's my treasure…"
Reluctantly, he trudged back to his office for a scheduled call.
Captain's Quarters
Suzuya and Kumano rummaged through the captain's quarters while cleaning. Kumano's eyes caught a small box. Inside gleamed a jagged, green-glowing stone.
Kumano gasped. "It's… beautiful…"
Suzuya peeked over. "What's that?"
Kumano stared, mesmerized by the stone's light. Suzuya, however, frowned.
"We should show this to the Admiral," Suzuya urged.
Kumano hesitated. "Just a little longer…"
"Don't touch it!" Suzuya snapped, but Kumano had already lifted the stone. As her fingers brushed it, a ferocious gust erupted, trashing the room and blasting both girls onto the deck outside. The shipgirls on deck froze in shock.
Tone shouted, "What happened!?"
Imuya stammered, "W-What's going on!?"
Kumano winced. "That hurt…"
Suzuya groaned. "I told you, Kumano…"
Kumano muttered, "Nobody could've predicted this…"
Admiral's Office
Suzuya and Kumano, stone safely back in its box, reported to Dante.
"A wind-making stone, huh?" Dante mused, inspecting it.
Suzuya yelped, "It's dangerous!"
Both girls hit the floor, bracing for another gust. Nothing happened. They glanced at Dante, who casually returned the stone to its box.
"Put it back where you found it," he said.
Kumano frowned. "But what is it?"
Dante shrugged. "I feel some kind of power, but its purpose? No clue."
Suzuya hesitated. "Is it safe to keep here?"
"It just makes wind. It's fine," Dante replied.
Unconvinced, they left with the box. Moments later, the phone rang. It was Lady.
"Right on time," Dante said.
"Of course," Lady replied coolly.
"Find anything?"
"Nothing yet. You sure there's someone suspicious?"
"Absolutely. Keep your eyes peeled."
"Will do," Lady said, hanging up.
The phone rang again. This time, Trish.
Her tone was grim. "It's not just one suspicious person—the whole place feels off. I overheard talk of an 'R Plan.'"
"R Plan?" Dante asked. "What's that?"
"No idea yet. And they're regularly bringing something in."
Dante frowned. "That's weird…"
Trish was infiltrating an organization Dante knew had scaled back operations. A new plan and mysterious shipments didn't add up. Security was tight, and even Trish hadn't breached the inner circle.
"I'll keep digging," she said.
"Be careful. If it gets dicey, get out," Dante warned.
Trish teased, "Aw, worried about me? That's sweet."
"...I'm hanging up."
As he did, the carrier shipgirls burst into the office. Dante's face soured—he knew why they were here.
Akagi beamed. "Admiral, let's go!"
"Go without me," Dante groaned.
Akagi pouted. "I can't shine without your support!"
"Whatever…"
Souryuu tugged at him. "Come on!"
Ryuujou snapped, "We're out of time!"
Grumbling, Dante was dragged off by the carriers.
Naval Headquarters: Marshal's Office
Lady entered, saluting. "Here are the requested documents."
The Marshal nodded. "Good. Yamato's off today, so this helps."
Lady, dressed in a naval uniform, blended in effortlessly. She was posing as an American sailor studying Japan's shipgirl operations, with forged IDs arranged by the Marshal himself. Her rank? Lieutenant.
The Marshal smirked. "Learned what you wanted?"
"Not yet," Lady replied.
"Look around. Learn well."
"I plan to." Lady saluted and left.
Outside, she roamed the headquarters, ears sharp. In a secluded corner, she caught a faint voice.
"Yes, — is at —…"
Only one voice, barely audible. When it stopped, Lady stepped out. There stood Fubuki.
"What were you talking about?" Lady asked.
Fubuki jumped. "Lieutenant!?"
"Skulking in a quiet spot… boyfriend, maybe?" Lady teased.
"N-No! Not a boyfriend!" Fubuki stammered.
"Then who?" Lady pressed, grinning.
"Just… an acquaintance," Fubuki mumbled, hurrying off.
Lady's eyes narrowed as she watched her go. "No blushing… if not a boyfriend, then who?"
Town Square
"Ladies and gentlemen, the eating contest begins!" the emcee bellowed.
Dante slouched in the audience, bored out of his mind. The carriers had dragged him to a massive eating contest in the town square. He felt utterly out of place among the cheering civilians.
Akagi strode in. "First Carrier Division's pride is on the line!"
Kaga nodded. "We'll crush this."
Souryuu cheered, "Go, Akagi! Go, Kaga!"
Ryuujou hollered, "Show 'em your appetite!"
Junyou, already tipsy, slurred, "Woo! Go for it!"
Houshou and Dante watched quietly as contestants poured in—slim, bulky, all sorts. Then, the final entrant stepped up, and everyone who knew her froze.
"That's bad news!!" they thought in unison.
Yamato smiled brightly. "Battleship Yamato, reporting for duty!"
Akagi blinked. "You're here to eat too, Yamato?"
"Of course!" Yamato chirped.
Kaga sighed. "Naturally."
The three chatted cheerfully, treating the contest like a buffet. But the cheering shipgirls weren't so calm.
Ryuujou panicked. "This is bad! Real bad!"
Souryuu flailed. "What do we do!?"
Junyou wailed, "My sake…!"
Dante raised an eyebrow. "Why are you all freaking out?"
Houshou leaned in, whispering. Dante's face went pale.
"That's… not good," he muttered.
The emcee explained the rules: unlimited time, eat the most mega-sized dishes without quitting. Diverse cuisines, sponsored by various companies, would be served. Last one standing wins.
"And there's a huge cash prize!" the emcee added.
That was why the shipgirls were desperate—and why Yamato's arrival spelled trouble. The prize was massive, but her appetite was legendary.
Contestants took their seats. "Start!"
Cold noodles arrived first, a refreshing sight under the scorching sun. Contestants shoveled food, but Akagi, Kaga, and Yamato stunned the crowd. In one bite, they devoured entire plates—noodles, toppings, everything—then daintily wiped their mouths. The audience gaped at the monstrous trio.
Dishes kept coming. Other contestants dropped, overwhelmed. Then came the ultra-spicy samgyetang.
Akagi wailed, "It's too hot!"
Kaga coughed, "Akagi… go on without me…" She collapsed.
Akagi screamed, "Kaga!"
Yamato panted, "Is there no limit…?"
Ryuujou shouted, "Hang in there, Akagi!"
Souryuu yelled, "The prize! Think of the prize!"
Akagi gritted her teeth. "First Carrier Division won't fall here!"
Dante muttered, "What are we even watching?"
Kaga was out. Akagi and Yamato, sweating buckets, forced down the fiery stew. The audience and shipgirls cheered frantically—nobody wanted to lose that prize.
The chefs, meanwhile, were collapsing. "My arms… can't keep up!" one groaned.
No matter how much they cooked, Akagi and Yamato kept eating. The lone remaining chef trembled, pushed to the brink.
Houshou stood. "My turn."
Dante grabbed her arm. "Wait, where are you going!?"
She joined the chefs, whipping up dishes with ease.
A shaved ice break brought headaches but no relief. Burgers came next. As Akagi and Yamato reached for them, the burgers flew off their plates—all the burgers. A bizarre figure stood nearby: human body, giant hamburger head, massive mouth and teeth.
Ryuujou blinked. "What's that? A costume?"
Dante groaned. "A demon with that look?"
Souryuu gasped, "A demon!?"
The demon roared, "All this world's burgers are mine!"
It had sucked the burgers into its maw. But three figures seethed with rage: Akagi, Yamato, and—somehow—Kaga, back on her feet. Before civilians could evacuate, they deployed their rigging.
Yamato snapped, "Stealing food is unforgivable!"
Akagi roared, "You'll pay for this!"
Kaga hissed, "Know your place!"
They attacked, ignoring the fleeing crowd. Dante barked orders, and Houshou, Ryuujou, and Souryuu scrambled to guide civilians to safety.
The demon lashed out with its tongue, but Yamato's cannons incinerated it. Kaga and Akagi bombarded from above. The weak demon fled, dodging wildly as the shipgirls fired recklessly, stray shots flying toward Dante's group.
Ryuujou yelled, "What are you doing!?"
Souryuu shouted, "This way—no, that way!"
Dante dodged a stray shot, hauling a drunken Junyou over his shoulder. "Don't make this harder!"
Junyou slurred, "Everything's upside down~"
The demon's chaotic escape caused explosions everywhere, complicating evacuations. The shipgirls' attacks did more damage than the demon itself.
"Learn some table manners and try again!" the trio roared, obliterating the demon with a final barrage.
The demon was gone, but the square was a wreck. No prize money—just a hefty damages bill. Shared with headquarters, it wouldn't ruin Dante, but it stung.
Akagi, Kaga, and Yamato faced hours of Houshou's scolding. Back at the base, they endured a public spanking from Houshou, supervised by Dante and the others, as "punishment."
Devil May Cry Naval Base: Night
As the shipgirls slept, an intruder slipped into the base, clutching the wind-stone's box.
Dante blocked their path. "What do you plan to do with that?"
