Chapter 7 - Chapter 07

After Iruka left, Kitazawa sat at his desk, hands clasped in front of his nose, deep in thought.

He was trying to figure out how on earth he could become the class monitor of Class 1-A.

If he were a student, it'd make sense. But he was a sensei.

A sensei competing with his own students for class monitor? What kind of twisted system was this?

But there was no way around it—he had to complete this mission. The reward was Water Release.

There were seven chakra natures in total. The common ones were Wind, Water, Fire, Earth, and Lightning, while the hidden ones were Yin and Yang.

Ninjas were usually born with one or two chakra natures.

For example, a ninja born with a lightning affinity would not only find it easier to learn lightning release techniques but also wield them far more powerfully.

Kitazawa had already tested his own chakra nature. He possessed Wind and Fire.

Gaining a third nature would be a huge advantage. Naturally, he couldn't let this opportunity slip by.

With a sigh, Kitazawa stood up and walked to the wooden bed behind his desk.

He lay down, arms and legs splayed out like the kanji character for "tree."

Thinking and dozing at the same time, he eventually drifted off.

Class 2-C

As soon as Toranosuke sat down, he noticed a folded piece of paper tucked into his desk.

He opened it curiously.

Inside was a single sentence: Don't leave after school tomorrow.

It was signed by a name he knew well—Hyuga Hinata.

"When did that crybaby Byakugan duckling grow so bold?" Toranosuke exclaimed, stunned.

"Big Bro, did you get a note too?" Two boys about his age crowded around, equally surprised.

"What the heck is going on?" Toranosuke asked, staring at the three identical notes.

"Should we go? Could it be a trap?" One boy whispered nervously. "She's the Hyuga Clan's young princess, after all."

"Of course we're going!" Toranosuke scoffed. "It's just kids' stuff. Adults won't butt in."

That was exactly why he could bully boys and girls at school without consequence.

In the Ninja World, strength ruled everything.

Even if Hyuga Hiashi wanted to punish them, he'd be mocked by the other ninja clans for meddling in children's fights.

"Then it's a sure win for us!" the boy said, reassured.

"Obviously! Three against one—we've totally got the advantage!" Toranosuke grinned. "Let's hope this turns out fun."

"Big Brother's so wise!" the other two boys chimed in, showering him with flattery.

Meanwhile, lunch break flew by.

Kitazawa sat up on his bed and yawned.

He already had a plan forming for how to become class monitor.

In short: he was going to cheat the system.

The mission only required him to become class monitor—it didn't specify for how long.

Kitazawa splashed cold water on his face, checked the time, and headed for the classroom.

The second he arrived at the door, the class bell rang.

"Well, aren't I punctual."

Kitazawa chuckled and stepped onto the podium.

"Kitazawa-sensei !" Ino Yamanaka shot to her feet like a cheerleader, waving excitedly.

And of course, she couldn't resist flashing a smug look at Sakura Haruno.

"…Hmph."

Sakura pouted.

Sure, Kitazawa was handsome—but he wasn't their age, and one day, he'd just be another old guy.

She turned to look at Uchiha Sasuke instead, offering him a sweet smile.

Uchiha Sasuke ignored her completely.

His mind was consumed only with thoughts of his brother and father.

He was desperate to grow stronger and win their approval.

'Women would only get in the way of his training.'

"All right, let's begin class." Kitazawa nodded to Ino, then asked, "Who can tell me who founded Konoha Village?"

"I know!" Uzumaki Naruto shouted, his hand shooting into the air. "It was Senju Hashirama!"

"Close—but more accurately, it was the Senju Clan," Kitazawa corrected. "Both the First and Second Hokage were from the Senju Clan."

"Kitazawa-sensei…" Naruto frowned. "Why don't we see ninjas from the Senju Clan nowadays?"

"Oh, there are still some around." Kitazawa grinned. "For example, Lady Tsunade—one of Konoha's Legendary Sannin—is a ninja of the Senju Clan."

Just then, Uchiha Sasuke raised his hand.

"Sasuke," Kitazawa acknowledged calmly.

"My brother told me that the Uchiha Clan also helped found Konoha," Sasuke said as he stood up, his tone proud and steady.

His words drew puzzled expressions from many students.

Aside from those from prominent ninja clans—like Hyuga Hinata or Nara Shikamaru—most weren't familiar with the Uchiha Clan's once-glorious history. After all, their reputation had fallen into a complicated state.

Ever since the Nine-Tails' rampage, the Uchiha compound had been relocated to the village's outskirts, and their clan was placed under constant surveillance. Whispers and suspicion had long eroded the honor once tied to their name.

"You're absolutely right," Kitazawa nodded, his voice even. "It was the Senju Clan and the Uchiha Clan who brought an end to the chaos of the Warring States Period. Together, they laid the foundation for Konoha Village."

Sasuke's eyes lit up, his pride blooming quietly.

His brother hadn't lied.

The truth of the Uchiha's greatness had been confirmed in front of everyone.

"Today," Kitazawa continued, clapping his hands and shifting into storyteller mode, "we'll be diving into the tale of the First Hokage—Senju Hashirama."

He paused dramatically, surveying the class.

"A long, long time ago… there was a ninja clan unlike any other..."

He spoke with rhythm, like a performer telling a fabled legend, each word woven with drama and energy.

It was this flair for storytelling—and not just the endorsement of Hiruzen Sarutobi—that had earned him the title of Best Sensei year after year.

Kitazawa, a transmigrator with a head full of modern knowledge and historical context, had a teaching style unlike anyone else at the academy.

Where others droned through textbooks, he turned every lesson into an experience.

And nothing captured a child's attention more than a well-told story.

When the dismissal bell rang, Kitazawa closed the lesson with a sly grin:

"…If you want to know what happens next—come to the next class."

He tucked his materials under one arm and announced, "Class dismissed!"

"Nooo! Why'd it end right there?"

"Why does Kitazawa-sensei's class go by so fast?"

"Class can actually be fun? I wanna be in school forever!"

The students' groans of protest filled the room. They sat in their seats, reluctant to leave.

Uchiha Sasuke, however, remained quiet, his brow slightly furrowed.

In Kitazawa's tale, the Uchiha were portrayed as equals to the Senju—strong, proud, and vital to Konoha's foundation.

But then… why had his clan fallen so far?

Why did they now live under watchful eyes and silent judgment?

Sasuke clenched his fists beneath his desk.

He'd ask his brother, Itachi. He needed answers.

As for Kitazawa… Sasuke still hadn't fully accepted him.

The Uchiha didn't submit to others lightly. They only respected true strength.

"Kitazawa-sensei really is the best at teaching," Ino Yamanaka gushed, spinning around—only to find Sakura Haruno had already skipped off to chase Sasuke again.

"You traitor!" she cried.

Hyuga Hinata glanced at the two, confused by their rivalry.

"Hinata, what do you think?" Ino asked suddenly, catching Hinata's gaze.

"Eh? Oh… it was… very good," Hinata replied softly, after a brief pause.

Her thoughts drifted.

She recalled her father—Hyuga Hiashi—teaching her the Gentle Fist style. His face always cold, his tone always sharp.

Training with him felt like walking on needles.

She was already quiet by nature, but under her father's relentless pressure, her performance suffered even more.

But Kitazawa… his teaching felt different. Gentler. Warmer.

If only someone like him had been her tutor… Maybe she wouldn't feel so small all the time.

But no—she quickly shook her head, dispelling the fantasy.

As the daughter of the Hyuga Clan, she couldn't afford such foolish dreams.

Her world didn't allow room for "what ifs."
