It took me a total of three nights in this world to finally wake up well rested.
The first night, one I've spent camped out in the jungle with nothing but Selia's promise of her barrier working. And it didn't take a genius to figure out just how well I could sleep with nothing but a stone for a pillow, tree for a backrest and constant fear of death for a blanket.
Surprisingly enough, the second night still wasn't all that better.
Sure, it was one hell of an improvement when compared to the first, but just like all the naps I took on Selia's lap, it left me weirdly exhausted.
On the outside, I felt as if I had a good night of sleep, with the soreness of my muscles gone and head a lot clearer than it was the night before. It wouldn't be until I've finally figured out what this weird dream of mine was and how I actually worked even harder inside of it than in the world of living that I realized the full extent of my exhaustion.
