Chapter 1 - Body possession

Lincoln International Hospital

VIP Ward, Northeast Wing – 8:23 PM

The soft hum of the air conditioner contrasted with the heavy silence that filled the private room. In the center, a hospital bed with impeccably white sheets held the motionless body of a young man. His skin was pale, almost translucent, and the heart monitor—once emitting steady beeps—now displayed a straight line.

"There's nothing more we can do…" the doctor murmured with a resigned sigh, removing his glasses. "Oxygen levels dropped completely, and there's no heartbeat. Prepare the injection—it's time to proceed."

"Yes, doctor…" the nurse replied softly.

The doctor left the room, leaving the nurse alone with the body.

With trembling hands, she retrieved the syringe from the sterile drawer and approached. Just as she was about to inject it, she noticed something.

A small movement.

A finger… twitched.

"D-Doctor?!" the nurse cried out in panic. "Please, come quickly!"

The doctor rushed back into the room, alarmed.

"What happened?"

"He moved! His fingers moved!"

The doctor approached at once, his trained eyes observing closely.

The young man slowly opened his eyes. They were a deep bluish-gray, still clouded with drowsiness—but alive.

"Ángel…" the doctor whispered, barely believing it. "Young Master Ángel, can you hear me?"

'Who's Ángel?' the boy thought, confused. 'Didn't I… die?'

"Call his family right away!" the doctor ordered.

"Yes, doctor!" the nurse replied, hurrying out of the room.

"Don't try to speak," the doctor said gently to the boy. "For now, just blink twice if you understand me."

The boy obeyed.

"Can you hear me clearly?"

Two blinks.

"Can you see clearly?"

Two blinks.

"Excellent. Your parents are on their way. But first, we need to do a quick check-up."

One hour later

The door burst open.

"My baby!" cried a woman with long dark hair, wrapped in a coat. "Are you okay, my love? Thank heaven!" she sobbed.

"Easy now," said the imposing man beside her. "Our son just woke up. He's weak, but he's here."

"Thank God… thank God…" the woman—Luna—repeated through tears.

Ángel stared at them, bewildered.

'Who are they?' he wondered. 'And who is their son?'

His mind was a sea of confusion.

He tried to speak, but it was difficult. His throat was dry, his lips cracked.

"W-who…"

"What are you saying, sweetheart?" the woman asked, leaning closer.

"W-who a-are… you?" he managed to whisper.

Luna went pale. Her eyes widened in horror.

"W-what...? You don't remember me...? I'm your mother, Ángel… I'm your mom!" she cried, broken.

"Calm down, Luna," her husband, Enzo, stepped in. "We'll talk to the doctors. Maybe he's just confused from waking up..."

Ángel began to feel overwhelmed. A sharp pain pierced his head, and memories started to flood in.

"Ugh…" he clutched his temple.

'Did I… possess someone?' he thought, shaken.

"Prince, are you alright?" Enzo asked, concerned. "Are you in pain?"

"I-I'm fine… dad…" he replied weakly.

"Your memory must be foggy, that's all," Enzo said, gently stroking his hair. "You just woke up."

"M-mom…"

"Oh, thank God!" Luna threw her arms around him. "What would I have done if my beautiful son had forgotten me?"

"Come, Luna," Enzo said softly. "We should let him rest. We can come back later."

"Alright…" she murmured, drying her tears as they left the room.

Ángel waited a few minutes, then called out weakly:

"N-nurse…"

"Yes, young master?"

"I want… to go to the bathroom…"

"Of course. Let me help you."

.

.

.

In the bathroom.

The nurse waited outside while Ángel approached the large mirror above the sink.

The reflection staring back at him took his breath away.

'I swear I thought this was a dream…' he reflected, eyes locked on his new face.

A handsome young man with black hair and gray eyes. Smooth skin, a well-kept but slender body. His neck, though covered by a hospital gown, clearly showed the glandular knot distinctive of an Omega.

'Did I really possess someone?' he asked himself, still in disbelief.

Foreign memories began to flood in: his name was Ángel Fridd. He was 20 years old and a medical resident at the very hospital he now lay in. Son of a renowned Alpha medical director and a former famous model.

'Thank God… at least he's a doctor,' he thought, relieved.

'In my past life, I was Entha Llano, a medical prodigy. I graduated before anyone else. I was an orphan, fought my way up… and died after being hit by a truck while leaving a night shift…'

Now, he was in the body of a pampered Omega whose progress in medicine came more from his father's influence than from merit.

'But this will be my second chance' he thought, clenching his fists.

'I'll fix what I couldn't before… and I'll save as many lives as I can.'

"Young master, are you alright in there?" the nurse called out.

"Y-yes, I'm coming," Ángel replied.

'This will be my new beginning,' he declared silently, full of determination.
