Chapter 4 - System Panels

When his eyes lit up, Luke suddenly managed to smile again and realised that at least his gift wasn't useless. That was a good thing; at least he wouldn't see himself as a useless person for the rest of his life.

Maybe... maybe he could make his father proud again...

"No," he said to himself suddenly, his father couldn't be said to care much about him anymore. He had people to look after and land to develop right now.

His smile grew deeper as he said, "Well, what are you waiting for? Take it all to the tent so Kevin can cook."

Callum immediately stood ready and then began carrying the meat into the tent one by one, saying, "As you command, sir!" and before going inside the tent for the final time, he looked at Luke and said, "Seeing you smile again is a miracle, sir."

When Luke sat back down on the rock behind him, he managed to take a deep breath. He had managed to find a place where he could use his talent, his gift.

Just then, something else unexpected happened.

The strange writing that had been floating in the air earlier was now everywhere. It was truly everywhere. The word 'Gather' was written on every piece of the ruined buildings around him, and even on the snow on the ground.

To be honest, Luke's head was starting to spin.

"Are these… windows?" Luke asked, and almost instinctively repeated, "Gather."

At that moment, the nearest wooden building had suddenly vanished. Luke heard a voice in his mind:

[Gathering complete. Please select a word to view the items.]

When Luke heard this voice, he looked around but couldn't hear anyone. In fact, when he heard the voice echoing in his mind, he even thought he had lost his mind for a few seconds.

But at that moment, he realised that his gift was very similar to that of his sister, the third princess, Freya Mull Hiera. His sister could summon as many swords as she wanted with her thoughts, and the funny thing was that each sword was considered a sacred sword.

Freya was even known as the Goddess of the Battlefield.

This could be the same. Luke's ability seemed to be much more detailed than he had imagined, but Luke was still unaware of anything... His gift was much more special than he had thought.

Much, much more special.

Luke scratched his chin for a few seconds, thinking about what the strange voice in his mind had told him to do, and then said, "The word for viewing items will be [Inventory]."

He had defined it as 'inventory,' essentially a storage space, because he thought it was a place where various items could be found.

[Word saved.]

When Luke heard the voice again, what he saw in front of him was a window, similar to the one he had seen with the word "gather."

At the top of the window, in bold letters, it read, "System Panel---Panel 2[Inventory]."

Indeed, the ruined wooden house had been completely added to his inventory.

[Would you like to name the system panels?]

Luke was surprised when a sudden sound echoed in his mind. It was confirmed that there were indeed multiple panels.

"Can I see what the panels look like?" Luke asked.

As soon as he said this, three panels opened in front of him.

The first panel showed his body and how much magical power and sacred power he possessed. The second panel showed indicators and text showing how healthy he was.

The second panel was the very same panel Luke had called up as his inventory just a minute ago.

The third one… That was the unusual part.

Luke had seen that the panel in front of him was selling items, food, live animals, and even building blueprints. Moreover, these were things he had never seen in his entire life.

Many things were locked. Only a few stone buildings that seemed to have strong foundations and some strange water were open. So Luke could buy these things.

He wondered if these things were real and, without even giving the panel a name, reached directly into his magic bag.

He took out a few silver coins from his magic bag and threw them into the coin slot he could clearly see on the panel.

At that moment, three silver symbols appeared in the 'balance' section on the upper right side of the panel, and the purchase symbols for the building blueprints and the water lit up.

Without hesitating for even a second, Luke clicked on the mark below the building blueprint, and at that very moment, an unbearable pain struck his head.

Calling it unbearable pain would be an understatement. It felt like his entire brain was in agony. With each passing second, he seemed to be learning new things.

After a short while, when the pain subsided, a completely different voice emerged in Luke's mind:

[Simple Cabin Placement learned.]

"Simple Cabin Placement?" Luke asked, and as soon as he said it, several markers began to appear around the tent in front of him, or rather, a few metres away.

Luke heard a voice say, "Do you want to place the hut?" and, thinking he might crush the people inside the tent, he exclaimed, "NO!"

With that, the ability—or whatever it was—was cancelled, and Luke realised that he no longer needed to cut wood or create materials to create a hut.

When he read the information on the panel, he saw that he needed to purchase more items to unlock the other items and their continuations.

However, the smile on his face grew even wider… of course, there was a reason for that.

Luke was a prince, once considered the crown prince, and was known as 'Saint' not only on their continent but also on other continents.

In other words… he had an unimaginable fortune.

This gift was millions of times more valuable than his father had imagined, and this was not even the limit of what the gift could do.

It had ignited a new hope. A hope that will never leave.
