The sound of his name made Thaddeus pause mid-fold, his hands still on the shirt he was packing. He glanced toward the doorway, his expression unreadable, but his eyes softened at the sight of Kayden.
"I'll leave you two alone," Rassel said casually, turning on her heel and heading downstairs.
Silence settled once she was gone. Kayden stepped into the room, closing the door behind him with a quiet click. He looked at Thaddeus, then quickly dropped his gaze, as if the weight of what he'd overheard was too much to hold.
"You were the one who told me I could be loud," he said finally, his voice carrying a shy, almost accusing edge. "Now everyone's heard me… scream through intimacy."
