She glanced at her brother, eyes wide. "Thad… did you buy out the whole city?"
Thaddeus smirked faintly, not bothering to answer as he passed another bag to the staff.
Rassel let out a low whistle and turned to Kayden. "He's going to be away for a few weeks, and you bought all this? What if he had been leaving for years, would you just clear out the entire store?"
Kayden chuckled awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck. "I tried telling him I didn't need all of it."
"Mm-hmm," Rassel said, giving him a sly look. "And yet… here we are."
Thaddeus shot his sister a warning glance, but she only grinned wider.
"Don't give me that look," Rassel said, shaking her head. "This is too much, bro."
Just then, the maid stepped forward and asked if they'd be eating dinner. Both Thaddeus and Kayden answered at the same time, "No."
Without another word, Thaddeus headed upstairs to his room, Kayden trailing close behind.
