Chapter 4 - Settling 2

Heading inside the cave I went to the other side in which I believe granny's family are. The men working in the one of the room's of the cave, which looked suspiciously like a kitchen of a well off villager, must be granny's mates. As I was poking my head inside the kitchen I could'nt help but compare the entire interior of the cave I had seen so far to be similar to what I'd find in a rustic countryside home, the only difference is this palce is inside a cave. And guess what there's window's, the simplest kind but the most important part is that sunlight's streaming in. Holy if it were'nt for their attire and the people having animal ears, tail's and other animal feature's I'd think this was some idyllic scenic village.

"Little female, you're awake !"

Granny mo's question jolted me visibly, quickly turning around I was met with her kind eyes, softly smiling at me, probly amused with the way I had poked my head into the kitchen. This is probably hella awkward. She extended her inviting hands towards me as I was debating with myself to finally speak up or still go on being dumb.

Seeing her outstreched palm, I threw my concerns out the window taking her hand as she led me to what seemed like a very proper living room with tables, chairs, rugs, and even a rocking chair! My evaluation of this world has been upgraded again.

Granny sat in the rocking chair, slightly bending to look at me. And I, the slow poke I am, was still holding onto her hand and blankly looking at her. She chuckled and pulled me closer, ruffling my hair, letting me hold her hand as it is.

"Child, did you rest enough last night? You fell asleep at the doorway after eating some fruits. Seeing that you looked utterly fatigued we just covered you up without waking you fearing your sleep disturbed."

Her revelation shocked me, I actually fell asleep at the doorway and that too of the main entrance?! Stifly looking to my 'bed' of last night which was quite widely visible form this living room, I truly am speechless, was I that tired?

A melodious laugh had me looking at granny mo, utterly embarresed, and probably red faced too.

Granny pretended to clear her throat after forcefully stifling her laughter and then the real proper conversation began. who I am, where I came from, who my parents are, all likely question were asked but I, ever the undecisive person to soft approach found my self just blinking at her, unsure of everything. Seeing my condition granny suggested I be adopted by the chief's mate of this place, citing her days could be numbered and I still looked too young to start a family of mine own in this world.
