CHAPTER EIGHTY-FIVE
The dainty sounds of footsteps begin to fade into the night, and Amendiel breathes out a harsh, jagged sigh. His inner beast continues to stir, ancient instincts clawing and screaming at him to take up the chase.
HUNT.
MATE.
CLAIM.
His golden eyes gleam with predatory fire as the urge pours into his veins like molten lava. Before, Amendiel would have no problem letting his dragon break free. He wouldn't hesitate to catch his mate and pin her against the stone walls until she was screaming his name and thrashing beneath him
But that is the old Amendiel - the one who had nearly killed his mate in a fit of rage.
He already promised Faelyn that he would be better, that he wouldn't hurt her. He has failed to keep that promise twice, and Amendiel is determined not to fail a third time.
