DANTE'S POV
I've been spying on Adrian's body guard since Adeline and I decided to make everyone believe I left town and I can say with confidence that I've already masted his routine. He wakes up early in the morning, goes for a run, and then he hits the gym. After that he basically follows Adrian around all day until around 10p.m when he finally goes back home to his girlfriend.
I've noticed that he only goes back home three times a week; Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. On the other days, he's with Adrian all twenty-four hours a day. He doesn't have any kids and he's been dating this girl he's with for only three months. She won't miss him that much after I kill him.
Today's Friday and the day I kidnap Adrian's bodyguard Xavier. All this time not spent with Adeline has sort of helped me advance with my plans. I have to kidnap Xavier at exactly 11p.m. It'll take me about an hour to drive him to my place where I'll torture him until I get what I need from him.
I'll get what I need from him by 3a.m, he'll be buried by 4a.m. I'll be at his house again by 5a.m to search the place and then I'll be out by 6a.m. It'll be as easy as taking ice cream or candy from a child because Xavier just like Adrian thinks I'm no longer in town so he won't be suspecting a thing.
Xavier always parks his car in a very private and scanty parking lot. I made sure to freeze all the security cameras in any area where I'd be kidnapping him so anyone watching will only see what I want them to see. I have this all perfectly planned out. In about thirty minutes, Xavier will drive into this parking lot where I'm currently silent waiting for him. He won't know what hit him.
As I sit quietly in my car, waiting for Xavier, I suddenly get a text from Adeline.
"What you doing?" I stare at her text for seconds too long because I absolutely hate lying to her but how am I supposed to explain to her why I'm in a dark parking lot, waiting for Adrian's bodyguard to drive in so I can kidnap and murder him.
"Plotting murder." I reply her and although she might be chuckling right now thinking I'm joking, I'm taking some satisfaction in the fact that I'm not exactly lying to her.
"Well, murder boy. I just wanted to tell you goodnight. I miss you. Come see me tomorrow?" Her text comes through almost immediately. God, I miss her so much and I can't wait to be done with Xavier so I can go to her I need her in my system like crazy. All this time spent away from her has made my longing and want for her skyrocket through the roof and I want her.
I need her so badly.
"I'll be there first thing in the morning princess." As soon as I reply to her, a black SUV rides into the parking lot. An SUV that no doubt belongs to Xavier. I linger in my car for a few more seconds and wait for him to get out of the car, to be sure that he's not coincidentally with someone else tonight.
When I see that he's alone and he's back is turned to me, I quietly and silently get out of my car and walk slowly towards him. No doubt that he has already noticed he's not alone. I took that into consideration too, and from the way his body tenses, I know he knows I'm behind him.
So, before he can reach for his gun, I basically jump towards him, take out a syringe filled with a tranquilizer and stick the sharp needle into is neck. He's a big man so he fights off the tranquilizer for about fifty seconds before it finally gets the better of him. He falls limp to the floor with a small groan escaping his throat.
"Easy peasy..." I whisper and then tilt my head to the side as I look at his limp body on the ground. I lick my teeth in annoyance and then land another punch on him just to knock him out some kore in case the tranquilizer wears out and he wants to wake up before time.
And then to be even more sure, I take out another syringe and inject the fool with even more tranquilizer. He's an experienced body guard and he must have trained for situations like this dozens of times. I can't take any chances with him. I carefully clean out the are to remove any evidence and then lock up his car properly and pocket his keys.
I tie him up carefully and efficiently, so that even if he does wake up, he has no way of breaking free from the ropes, and then I toss him into the trunk of my car and drive away with him. I made sure to leave his phone inside his car in case it has a tracking divide integrated into it. I want absolutely no one finding out where I am or where I live.
It's exactly midnight when we reach my place, just as I planned and in about fifteen minutes, I manage to get Xavier's body up into my torture room. I have him shirtless and tied up to a chair. Once I'm satisfied with everything, I pour a bucket of water straight at his face making his eyes snap open with a powerful jerk.
He groans and breathes heavily, trying to get water of his nostrils and eyes. "What the fuck?" He exclaims as he shakes water out of his hair.
"I knew it. I knew somehow that you were still around." His eyes widen as he looks at me up and down. "God, I tried to warn Adrian, but he didn't listen. That little bitch has him completely brainwashed. My lips twitch in anger at the way he refers to Adeline and before I know it, my fist lands on his nose with a powerful punch.
"You're going to die tonight, Xavier. Don't make it any more painful than it's going to be by talking about Adeline that way."
"How about you let me go so we can settle this like men. Fight me like a man!" He struggles and shakes in his seat but with the way I have I'm tied up, there's no way he's breaking free.
"You don't make the rules around here Xavier. You're not here so we can fight. You're here so I can torture you, get what I need from you and then kill you. Now I know people like yourself respond best to displays of violence but you see I have a girl to get to later so if you help me and answer my questions generously, then I'll help you too and give you a painless death. It's your choice."
He glares at me deep into my eyes and then does something so stupid that I just want to punch him until his face is completely redecorated. The motherfucker spits on my floor. I bite my teeth in annoyance and give him a look that could kill and then a hammer from my table of torture instruments and hit down hard on his pinky finger.
He grits his teeth and winces in pain and then finally he lets out a loud sound of agony from the pain that is no doubt searing through him.
"Let's get down to business. Tell me Adrian Wellington is linked to the sex trafficking organization." I say cutting straight to the chase.
"You're wasting your time." He says in pain. I take a sharp needle from my table and drive it through the skin under his nail. The scream of agony he lets out is like music to my ears. I repeat the action over and over again.
"Fuck man! Stop! Stop!" He begs making me stop for a few seconds. I look him in his eyes and raise my brows at him, waiting for an answer. When he hesitates to give me one, I grab a lighter and place the flame under his groin. There's nothing more important to a man than his dick so it's either he speaks out or I burn his balls.
The heat breaks through his pants until his flesh is exposed. That's when he breaks.
"He's just an investor!" Xavier barks out in pain. Great. Now we're getting somewhere.
"He doesn't have anything to do with the internal functioning of the organization. The only thing he does is invest and he receives a bunch of profit from it. He's one of the biggest investors the organization has." He says.
"So, he's the predator." I whisper mostly to myself. Xavier just confirmed my hunch but these are things that I already suspected and now, I'm completely sure of.
"I love that we're making progress Xavier. Now tell me something I don't know." I say and shove my little needle into his skin once more getting another cry of pain out of him.
When he resists and keeps his mouth shut, I take the flame and hold it under his balls again. He should be lucky and thanking me because tonight, I'm not being as brutal as I normally am.
"There's a woman!" He screams. "Her name is Veronica! She takes care of the girls at the organization and when Adrian invests in a particular girl, he likes getting feedback from Veronica. Adrian meets with her once every three months. She's your next best bet if you want to know the exact location where the girls are kept and trained after they're kidnapped. That's all I got man."
His head falls, sweat dropping from his face like water. I don't know if I believe him but this Veronica lady sounds like the most important lead I've gotten since I started investigating these people. Now all I have to do is wait for the next time Veronica and Adrian meet.
"Do you know when their next meeting is?" I ask Xavier who's almost passing out. I guess he's not as tough as he makes himself out to be.
"A little bit before his fiancée's parents launch their new company. They already have a date set but I don't know exactly when." Xavier explains. I need Adeline to get Adrian to sign that contract before her parents launch.
Satisfied with the information I just got from Xavier, I stand up and let out a deep breath as I look down at him. Today has been more productive than I thought it would be. Not wasting any more time because I have to bury Xavier and then go to Adeline, I snap Xavier's neck with ease, killing him with one action as his body falls limp to the floor.
Now all I have to do is find Veronica.
