Chapter 8 - Volume 1 Chapter 120: The Date

Ning Chu truly had no idea how she was supposed to face Wen Yang. All her messages with Lily had been seen…

Who would have guessed that the seemingly cool and aloof succubus was actually a huge pervert on the inside!

She'd bombarded Ning Chu with all those shopping links for various... items, right in her face!

Wen Yang wouldn't think she actually planned on buying any of those, would he?!

Last night, she had barely managed to contain herself in front of Wen Yang, and today she was caught having a private conversation with Lily.

It was like one misfortune after another—things were really going south.

Now, in Wen Yang's mind, she probably seemed like a desperate, thirsty girl.

Just two months ago, he had thought she was a quiet little guy…

With a long sigh, Ning Chu pulled over a chair and sat just outside the study room door, too embarrassed to go in and face Wen Yang.

She leaned back against the wall and picked up a magazine to distract herself.

But the magazine didn't help at all to soothe the embarrassment burning in her chest.

Within minutes, her thoughts spiraled out of control.

Even Lily couldn't fully control her own body's urges and needed some... assistance.

The book had warned that repeatedly suppressing these desires could lead to a breakdown.

So… she really did need to take this "new accessory" thing seriously.

The thought made her face heat up, her embarrassment crashing over her in waves, threatening her self-control.

She had to stop thinking about it—she could already feel her body starting to warm up.

Ever since she'd suppressed her urges twice in a row, her sensitivity had been heightened.

Any stray thought in her mind would be enough to set her off.

Suddenly, the door next to her opened, snapping Ning Chu back to her senses.

"Teacher! I'm going to get some bubble tea!" The kid dashed out like a gust of wind. He glanced at Ning Chu sitting by the door before hurrying outside.

A moment later, Wen Yang stepped out of the study room as well.

Leaning against the door frame, he looked down at Ning Chu, who was blushing all the way to her ears. "Why aren't you coming in?"

"It's too crowded," Ning Chu replied, avoiding eye contact with him.

"No more class?"

"Fifteen-minute break." Wen Yang rubbed his neck and grumbled, "This kid is unbelievably slow. I explained the same math problem three times, and he still doesn't get it. I'm not even sure if he's processing one word in ten."

"…"

He tried to study Ning Chu's expression, curiosity bubbling up inside him, though he was too self-conscious to actually ask.

Why had Ning Chu asked a succubus such a question?

And that cool, detached succubus had recommended so many bizarre items to her…

Was it because Ning Chu was feeling really uncomfortable last night?

Wen Yang still felt a bit guilty for having seen her private messages, so even though he had a lot of questions, he couldn't bring himself to ask any of them.

Finally, he changed the subject. "Hey, why don't we go for a stroll nearby?"

"Aren't you supposed to be teaching?"

"It's break time," Wen Yang replied, pausing briefly. "There's a small plaza just outside the library—maybe we can get some fresh air?"

That sounded... all right.

Ning Chu was indeed feeling a bit stifled inside, but instead of replying, she simply stood up and walked straight toward the library exit.

Wen Yang quickly caught up with her, following half a step behind like a bodyguard.

The plaza outside the library was bustling, with snack stalls lining both sides, but Ning Chu's mind was far from food.

Please don't bring it up—please don't bring it up, she silently begged, trying to act nonchalant despite her flushed cheeks and darting gaze, which Wen Yang noticed immediately.

Sensing her unease, Wen Yang tactfully shifted his gaze to a nearby food stand. "Want some stinky tofu? My treat."

"Fine…"

Ning Chu's response was hesitant.

Never in her life had she experienced something as mortifying as this.

It was like having someone discover her deepest secrets or accidentally opening her browser's bookmarks in front of a friend...

She snuck a glance at Wen Yang's expression but was interrupted by a light touch on the back of her hand.

Looking down instinctively, she saw Wen Yang's hesitant hand.

This inexperienced guy! He doesn't actually think this is a date, does he?!

Idiot—when you're with a girl you like, you're supposed to be a little bolder.

Wen Yang might be handsome, but no girl would ever chase a guy who was this timid!

Scoffing, Ning Chu slapped his hand away and crossed her arms.

But then, she heard a devilish whisper by her ear. "Ning Chu, about Lily…"

Her face flushed with a mix of shame and anger as she grabbed Wen Yang's hand, glaring up at him.

Wen Yang had only wanted to see her reaction, but he was taken aback by how embarrassed she was.

Smiling, he gently held her hand in his, teasing, "Okay, I won't ask. I didn't see a thing."

Ugh, you pervert! she fumed inwardly. Why can't you act like this with some other girl? Gross… But no, not yet—only after his plotline gets derailed.

Her face filled with conflicted emotions.

On one hand, she wanted him to find a girlfriend and leave her alone; on the other, she hoped he'd stay single to keep his plot on course.

But she couldn't deny that his hand was warm...

Keeping a stoic expression as curious passersby glanced their way, Ning Chu felt her face burning as she lowered her head. Here I am, a guy on the inside, holding hands with another guy in broad daylight.

Her appearance might be all girl, but her mind still resisted the idea.

Yet, this secure feeling was… nice.

But could Wen Yang stop lightly stroking her hand? It tickled!

When they finally reached the food stall, Ning Chu still couldn't bring herself to look at him directly.

Wen Yang, however, casually ordered a large portion of stinky tofu.

"Extra spicy?" the vendor asked.

"Just a little," Wen Yang replied on her behalf, already familiar with her taste from frequently buying her meals recently.

The tofu was ready soon, and Wen Yang finally let go of her hand to pass it over. But Ning Chu, like a startled rabbit, immediately darted a few steps away, watching him warily.

"Not hungry?" he teased, holding out the tofu.

"Had enough of touching?" she retorted.

Wen Yang smiled sheepishly, his palm still holding a lingering warmth. "Just eat a bit. I don't even like this stuff."

"Tch."

With light steps, Ning Chu quickly took the tofu from him and immediately moved to the side, eyeing Wen Yang like he was some kind of pervert.

Swallowing her frustration, she mentally added this moment to her "revenge list."

"I was just kidding… it's not that serious," he murmured.

"Ugh, perv!" she huffed, keeping a few meters of distance between them. After every bite, she glanced up at him, taking a few steps back each time.

"Teacher! Bubble tea!" From afar, Wen Yang's student was running over, carrying three cups of bubble tea. "Here's the milk cap tea for my teacher's girlfriend!"

"Girlfriend?!"

The student gave Ning Chu a confused look. "Uh... maybe 'sister' then?"

Wen Yang, this guy! Is this how you introduce her to others?!
