Chapter 20 - Blood Of Innocence

Noticing the danger of the situation she was in, the doctor's voice trembled as she stammered and slowly tried to get away.

"I-I just need to...check something over here."

But Charlotte, still clutching Mika's arm, her fingers tight and possessive, caught the doctor's retreat and shifted gears, her tone flipping to one of sudden, panicked concern.

"Wait, hold on, what's the final report? What's his condition? Is anything wrong? Does he need surgery or anything?" Her voice was urgent, her eyes wide as she leaned forward, her earlier venom replaced by genuine worry. "Please, tell me he's okay."

The doctor paused, her fear softening as she saw the raw concern in Charlotte's face.

Despite the terrifying intensity, she recognized a girl who cared deeply for the boy beside her. A gentle smile curved her lips, her voice calming as she met Charlotte's gaze.

"There's no need to worry, I promise. Mika's completely fine, perfectly healthy, in fact. There's nothing wrong with him at all."

Charlotte's face lit up, her smile bright and disbelieving.

"Really? You mean it? There's nothing wrong with him at all?" Her voice was almost childlike, her relief palpable as she squeezed Mika's arm even tighter, her cheek pressing closer to his shoulder.

The doctor nodded, her smile growing warmer, though her eyes still held a trace of wariness.

"Absolutely. In fact, it's the opposite. The concerning thing is that there's nothing wrong with his body, to an almost abnormal degree."

She glanced at Mika, her expression shifting to one of quiet admiration, her gaze sweeping over him as if he were a marvel of science.

"Every single aspect of his body is...perfect. His vitals, heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, are at optimal levels, beyond what we typically see, even in elite athletes."

"His blood work, his scans, everything came back flawless. I couldn't believe it when I saw the results. We ran the scans twice more, triple, checked with my colleagues, and the results were identical."

"...His body is like the pinnacle of human health, with no imperfections whatsoever."

Charlotte tilted her head, her brow furrowing in confusion. "What do you mean, abnormal? How's that a bad thing?"

"It's not bad, it's extraordinary." The doctor shook her head, her voice tinged with awe. "His muscle density, his bone structure, his metabolic rate, every parameter is not just optimal but exceeds what we consider humanly possible."

"His white blood cell count is perfectly balanced, his cholesterol levels are ideal, even his electrolyte ratios are textbook perfect...It's as if his body was engineered to be flawless, down to the cellular level. I've never seen anything like it."

She hesitated, then added, her tone cautious but earnest.

"I was actually considering asking if I could take some samples, blood, tissue, maybe saliva, for further study...A body like this could revolutionize medical research."

"If we could understand and replicate these traits, it could lead to breakthroughs, save countless lives. It'd be invaluable for science."

Hearing this, Charlotte's smile returned, proud and radiant, her eyes gleaming as she looked down at Mika, still clutching his arm.

"Of course it's Mika! He's above everyone else, nobody can touch him!"

Her voice brimmed with pride, her gaze soft as she leaned closer, her cheek brushing his shoulder.

But then her expression shifted, her eyes narrowing as she turned to the doctor, her smile vanishing, replaced by a blank, steely stare.

"But you can't take his results. You can't use any samples you have. Every part of Mika is mine, his blood, his fluids, even his breath."

She inhaled deeply, her voice dropping to a possessive whisper.

"Even the air he breathes is mine. You shouldn't be breathing it, since it belongs to me. There's no way I'm letting you take any part of him for your research."

The doctor's eyes widened, her earlier fear resurfacing, her hands raising defensively. "I-I understand, I was just—"

But just then Mika cut in, his voice firm but calm, his exasperation breaking through as he turned to Charlotte.

"Charlotte, stop it. You're being ridiculous." He looked at the doctor, his smile genuine but tinged with fatigue. "Don't listen to her. I'm glad I can help in any way. If my results and samples can really improve medical research and save lives, then you can take them."

"...Use them for whatever studies you need. If you want more samples later, I can come back and provide them. It's no trouble."

The doctor's face lit up, her admiration for Mika deepening, her fear easing as she saw his willingness to contribute to humanity's good.

"Thank you, Mika." She said, her voice warm with gratitude. "That's incredibly generous. Your samples could make a real difference."

Her gaze lingered on him, curiosity flickering as she wondered who this boy was, so close to a daughter of a goddess, his body a medical marvel, his demeanor so calm despite the chaos Charlotte brought, while Charlotte's grip on his arm tightened, her eyes glinting with pride and possessiveness as she looked down at him, her voice taking on a teasing, almost scolding tone.

"You're being way too nice, Mika. What if she takes those blood samples you're so generously offering and does something...weird with them? Like, what if she's in her bed at midnight, all naked, and she splatters your blood all over herself to feel you on her skin?"

"...Using it to get all hot and bothered, imagining your presence?" Her voice dropped to a sultry whisper, her gaze locked on his, not caring that the doctor was still in earshot, her words bold and unfiltered.

The doctor's face flushed crimson, her eyes widening in shock at the absurdity of the suggestion, her clipboard clutched like a lifeline.

She stammered, her voice barely audible. "I, I would never—" but her words were drowned out by Charlotte's brazen confidence.

Mika, unfazed, merely glanced at her, his tired face breaking into a faint, exasperated smirk, as if he'd heard her say far worse.

"Charlotte, only you would come up with something that deranged. If I'm worried about anyone doing anything weird with my blood, it's definitely you." His voice was casual, his tone dry but laced with amusement, his eyes flicking to hers. "I mean, come on, you're the one who'd probably bathe in it or something equally unhinged."

"Maybe I would." Charlotte didn't deny it, her smile turning sly, her gaze gleaming with a playful reverence as she leaned closer, her cheek brushing his shoulder. "But I wouldn't hesitate to give you my blood, Mika. If there was an emergency, I'd drain every drop for you and not think twice. You know that."

Her tone softened, her eyes searching his, a flicker of vulnerability breaking through her bravado, showing just how far she'd go for him. Then, her expression shifted, her gaze turning seductive as she pressed his hand tighter against her chest, her voice dropping to a husky whisper.

"And I don't just mean my blood, you know. I'd give you my...blood of innocence, too."

Her eyes glinted, her meaning unmistakable as she spoke of her virginity with a boldness that made the air crackle.

"When you're ready to take me for the first time, I'll be waiting, all yours."

She bit her lip, her smile wicked, her gaze locked on his, daring him to react.
